Here is a very rare opportunity indeed...especially at my price-I am taking a big loss here in order to get-it-done! JUST LOWERED BUY-IT NOW TO UNDER 3k!!! my treasured TC 16 valve "Maserati" engined with "celebrity" history,must go. I have owned 3 of these over the last 20 years, and I am very knowledgeable on these cars and FWD Mopar. I describe my cars/items in far more detail than most sellers, but speaking directly is much faster than me typing in info here. OK?Purchasing a car is a big deal/amount and we must get to know each other before proceeding. I have owned this car for over 7 years, prob. closer to 10.Selling on Ebay has become a nightmare for small sellers. Last time I listed this some "person" hit buy-it-now which removed my car from the marketplace (which costs me $50) so he could take his time to decide if he was serious or just screwing around. Then he hired a local inspector, who spent over an hour doing an inspection, and this "person" then stiffed (didn't pay) the inspector. I live in a tiny community where everyone knows each other, and I then felt obligated to compensate the inspector with at least, a nominal payment.I've had to increase the price by 100 because Ebay's text is saying two different things about how much the "successful listing" fee is going to be. When u finally get someone on the phone they are 3000 miles away in the Philippines...it just goes on.... What all this means is that you can get a very good deal on this car- it is priced to sell-I actually expect someone to use buy-it-now. I have over 7000 in this car (I paid just under 5k and have documents-then I added 1600+ in new wheels and tires, and more..) so if I seem unhappy, I am! I think this car should be in the 5k-9k range- I JUST NEED IT SOLD. I have 3 more cars i must sell...it used to be so much easier-I am now in my mid 50's and i must downsize, cut expenses-it costs a bunch to register, insure, maintain each car....so like I said: if you bid or buy-you hereby agree to talk on the phone first, to find out if we think we can complete a transaction without wasting each other's time. By the way, if the aforementioned "person" (Norfolk,Va.) is bad-mouthing my car in ANY way, please let me know, so I can take appropriate legal action. This car is fantastic in many ways-the most important ways-but it is 25+ years old-it's not a 2014!-so you will need to spend a few weekends on it if you want it perfect...but I have it priced like a non-running car or like a LeBaron with an automatic....and you can start enjoying it right away, all of the major stuff is in fantastic shape....so let's see if we can have a good transaction where you feel great and I get back around 45% of what I've invested, which given my situation, will indeed satisfy me. I won't be happy, but content and I'll feel good knowing you are enjoying the car, as it truly is a significant car, and deserves better than what i can now give. OK...now the details: This is a true investment grade car, for several key reasons: 1. The interior - LOOK AT THE PICTURES! This is among the top 10 TC interiors in existence! Absolutely no perforations/tears. Look at the detailed photos of the driver's seat. I'm not hiding it like most sellers. The 100% original Maserati Pasubio Leather is soft and pliable, very nearly like new. The two things that make these cars special are the handmade interiors and, if you're fortunate enough to have it, the 16v Dual Overhead cam "Maserati"engine and Getrag 5spd trans....These motors were 200-240hp, compared to the 165 sohc, or 135hp V6...even Maserati's own 2.8 V6 Biturbo was only185hp (205 w/dealer added on intercooler). This drivetrain totally transforms the car, into a true Italian sportscar, one of the most underpriced, and still competitive w/today's cars, 0-60mph in the mid-high 6 sec. range. 2. The low miles (<75K) are very well documented, with Carfax dates - ed.g.- first titled in December 1996 46,167 miles, last entry 10/17/2003 at 71K miles. The Carfax I purchased back in 2007 is INCLUDED IN THE SALE. 3. The Chrysler executive/dealer ownership is fully documented by both the Carfax AND the original gold owner plaque (see PHOTOS). William B. McIntosh who recently passed away, received multiple awards/promotions directly from Iacocca (Google his full name and Kirkland Chrysler).,He kept the car (under MSO) until 1996. Obviously the car had superb care. 4. Zero accident history- I have had the car examined and believe all panels original PPG Finish. Zero rust. In New Mexico last 7-9 years. Beautiful all original paint-just a few dings which I believe could be handled by Paintless Dent Removal. 5. Triple Chrome Clad OEM fondmetal wheels and brand new 100% tread depth Falken V-speed (130+mph) rated P225/50/15 tires.OVER $1600 IN WHEELS AND TIRES alone. Even the small center caps were triple chrome plated. If you've owned these cars, you know the big cosmetic disappointment is the Fondmetal alloy wheels, with their dull, hazy appearance. They were very high quality, lightweight wheels, but they looked dull after just a year or so. I paid a lot of money so these wheels and tires make the car look show car new...Chrysler did the same for their press photos in 1987... 6..Available: The Nardi classic genuine wood steering wheel. (SEE PHOTO) This was the wheel Iacocca intended the car to have, and it appears in early brochures. Only possible for 1989 cars, as the last year before the homely, generic airbag wheel appeared. I will include the Nardi wheel for only 150$. It includes the Nardi horn ring/button emblem. Cars, starts instantly, idles smooth as silk, with no smoke from exhaust at any time and no noises.I live in a rural area, and I just drove the car on a 50 mile check trip. This beautiful car has always been fed 92 Octane fuel and the best of care, you can enjoy it from day one - it is a joy to drive, and the engine pulls like a v8, the bulletproof Getrag trans shifts like new, and the clutch is strong and smooth. There is no check engine light on. The engine runs cool within spec at all times, even during stopped in traffic on my 95 degree check trip. The electric fan kicks in as per spec, no cooling or head gasket problems at all. These engines and trans are considered nearly bulletproof, IF properly cared for. The power locks, mirrors,seats,top latches are working, but the car does have some issues: The speedo/odometer have become intermittent, mostly dead. No significant driving has occurred since-miles are 99+% accurate. Very common on almost all Tc's-inop odom. Easy fix if you are patient-tedious, but Le Baron cluster (same) will interchange. The drivers door hinge is loose,may need new hinge. The drivers power window is now stuck, may need new motor (Le Baron parts). The AC compressor clutch seemed to be binding up, so I unplugged the power connector to be safe-it may need a new compressor-this is the GM/Harrison one, so very common, low cost part. All fan/HVAC controls solenoids working, but again, no AC. Heater works perfectly. The pass. side CV axle boot is torn and I believe it will need a new cv joint soon. Low cost part. Driveable as-is, but needs attention soon. All glass is original and uncracked, but windshield has some cosmetic light scratching/discoloration at the top (out of sight line) . I believe this can be corrected w/time and polishing. Car has very minor oil leak/"oozing" under car when idling-never run low, fairly common on these especially when not driven regularly. The more I drive it the less it oozes.... I'm trying to pin this down now. Not a huge issue but will require some time and maybe some money. Could just be cam cover, some RTV might do it. Windshield wipers had to be removed to clear out pest from area. Will need to be reinstalled - all parts in box, but no wipers now. I have a big mouse problem in my rural garage,they chewed one plug wire, but nothing serious, but I'm tired of fighting them...my collector cars must go. Exterior: Original tan Convertible top is 25 yrs old, worn and will need replaced - but original glass window is perfect.All there just needs rag top. "Portholes" have the usual delaminate-easy fix on tc website if it bothers you.Brakes work well and stop the car fine. However just this week the Antilock light is coming on - I think there is just some air in the system-the ABS pump comes on and pressurizes quickly...you can drive it fine now- again minor issue, maybe needs the master cylinder kit, or just a loose bleeder or at worst a leaky caliper (don't see any leaks on tires at all...I just don't have any time at all now....heck most TC's out there don't even have the ABS or the light even hooked up anymore...) Paint is very nice, all OeM, but a few dings ,most could be fixed by paintless dent repair -pdr- very low for age. Ding in front and rear stainless bumper trim SEE PHOTO - I believe these can be tapped out-with pdr. Mirrors need paint and clear-factory issue. Original gold pinstripe very good overall. Carello headlights like brand new-glass not plastic, they make the car look new! driver side amber turn signal cracked but a great used one is included (see parts photo)! A 0.25 inch by 1.5 inch ding in trunk lid, and 2 tiny dings in hood...could pdr and then seal tiny crack in paint...hard to notice but hood is not quite perfect due to them. Too small to show in photo. OEM Radio works great, including "wand" but some speakers dead. Power antenna motor is good but shaft doesn't quite retract all the way. Passenger seat needs to be bolted down-I lost the 4 bolts during cleaning. Carfax shows "Manufacturer buyback" long ago, this was common tactic especially in Washington state, reported leaking gas tank, if it had to be fixed again, more than once, they forced Chrysler to buy it back, it was a great way to recover some of your depreciation and this car stickered for $36000+- that's 80-90K today-wow! Of course it helped when the owner was a Chrysler dealer and had his own service dept...;) wink I have been selling on Ebay for over 12 years w/100% positive feedback (including 3 cars). Before you HIT BUY=IT=NOW, you or your representative are welcome to inspect the car . Ebay fees have become very tricky for me. They are telling me that they charge me $50 each time I relist it, whether the buyer pays or not. So please. let's be careful, let's talk on the phone FIRST!!!! I want everybody-you and me, happy. 1997 Chrysler Sebring Jxi "One Owner". Carfax Certified . "No Accidents". 10 Service Records. 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXI... Carfax certified the miles to be accurate at 64,887. In Florida since 2002. Powered by what many people call the "Better" V6 that they put in Sebrings. The 2.5L V6 that even gets 19 combined and 26 MPG's on the highway according to fueleconomy.gov. We also had this vehicle safety inspected and the oil changed and it has been so well taken care of all it needed was new wiper blades! The exterior finish is "Breathtaking" and in a tough to find color "Black Crystal Clear coat". Just a stunning look with the Jet Black Convertible top, alloy wheels and the silver accent stripe. Custom Stripe Vehicle drives, shifts and runs like it should. The suspension is firm and "tight" feeling. The only thing I can find wrong is the odometer display sometimes goes blank for a short period of time then comes back on shortly. It still records the mileage of course! It looks "stunning" with near perfect 16" alloy wheels and gorgeous Black "Canvas" convertible top. This is the best top you can get with Canvas cloth material and rear glass with defroster. We prefer Canvas over Vinyl because it looks better, lasts longer and won't mold or mildew like Vinyl. The Chrysler Imperial was on display at the The Fields Sculpture Park in Ghent, New York and the Napa Valley Museum in 2011, as well as gracing the pages of The New York Times! Lewis DeSoto has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States as well as in England, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden. Known for public projects and sculptural installations that often incorporate sound, video and theatrical lighting, DeSoto brings to his work a strong interest in archaeology, anthropology, sociology, and world religions. Mr. deSoto’s is customized 1956 Chrysler Imperial, illuminates the Chrysler Corporation’s little-known role in the Cold War military-industrial complex, the pinnacle of this design concept is the roof mounted 10.5-foot scale model of a CC-56 Redstone ballistic missile. Mr. deSoto is equally at home in the worlds of automobilia and conceptual art, and as a group, his concept-cars oscillate somewhere between the two. In a way, “Imperial America,” like the CC-56 Redstone, is simply a surface-to-surface warhead delivery vehicle. Mr. deSoto describes it in more poetic terms. “The Imperial,” he said, “is in a sense the foam on the wave that’s crashing down on you. This glittering thing that’s so attractive and beautiful — and at the same time, extremely dangerous. Lewis deSoto’s “Imperial America” project started seven years ago when he purchased this Chrysler from the third owner. Mr. deSoto looked at many Imperials before buying this one for his project because it was very straight and tight with none of the rattles that plague the 4-door Imperial hardtops. The Imperial was originally sold on September 1956 at Stanley Cole Chrysler in San Luis Obispo, California and we still retain the original service certificate from the dealer. For the exterior paint Lewis deSoto wanted “Something militaristic”. He decided on a two-toned combination of correct West Point Gray and Cloud White. Lewis invested in a very high quality exterior respray because the Imperial had to look amazing under the gallery lights and the new paint scheme really helped streamline the long side profile of the Chrysler. All the exterior brightwork is straight and clean and the front bumper still retains a March Air Force Base Department of Defense access sticker as a previous owner worked for the Strategic Air Command! Chrome spans nearly every inch of the car, turning the entire object into a two ton mirror. In fact, there is so much chrome and so many decorative accoutrements on the car that it is easy to ignore the replica of a Redstone nuclear warhead sitting atop of it. To finish off the exterior of this exquisite Imperial, deSoto added Kelsey Chrome Wire Wheels with the Department of Defense seal on each centerpiece cap. Wheels are wrapped with 235/75/15 BF Goodrich Silvertown Wide White tires. The eternal beauty of this Chrysler comes at great expense and intense commitment from deSoto. The seats, headliner, doors and floors all have been done in correct NOS material after his persistent work sourcing all the right materials. The interior blue and gray scheme looks excellent and the upholstery glitters thanks to the tinsel gold and silver threads. All accessories, including power windows, seats, antenna and gauges work, though the clock is intermittent and runs on a switch installed to preserve the battery. The car is fully functional including many of its electrically-assisted luxury touches like power seats and windows. The trunk retains original carpet and side panels and all decals have been replaced or reproduced. Inside the trunk located on the metal filler neck, deSoto titled and signed the car marked 2008. The replica 10.5 foot rocket is mounted to the Imperial by a custom steel pipe rack that is connected to the roof by four industrial suction cups. This car comes to us all the way from the dry Sunshine State of California! With its smooth mint paint job, 361ci V8, power brakes and power steering and Kelsey Hayes wheels; this station wagon is sure to make someone very happy! This rarely seen hardtop wagon was originally purchased in Alamogordo, New Mexico. We have a copy of the original certificate of registration showing the car was purchased in 1962 for $3573 and another registration receipt dated 1990 both in the original owner%26#8243; name. We are not certain when Mr. Anderson sold the car but we know he had the same car for at least 28 years.Finished in a soft mint green color with a contrasting white roof, the paint is in great and correct condition. It appears as if it has received a new paint job in the past and does show some minor imperfections such as rock chips and slight hints of age but it looks wonderful overall! The body is solid and straight throughout and looks great. All of the doors open and close without any issues. The chrome is in great condition with a brilliant shine and there is a LOT of it to accent the paint.Inside, the interior is correct. The seats are wrapped in a black vinyl/cloth combination that looks great. The seats show no major signs of wear or tear anywhere to be found. The carpet is also black and in comparable condition. The door panels are in great condition, only showing minor imperfections to the driver%26#8243; door, but overall it still shows very well! The headliner is in great condition and does sag a little in between the front seats and the rear, but it looks good still. The dashboard is extremely futuristic for 1962! It should be noted that this car does have a brand new dashpad and it looks great. The original futuristic instrument cluster is intact and looks absolutely wonderful! It should be noted that the fuel gauge is currently inoperable. The windshield is also brand new. The dash houses an AM radio. The rear compartment is in excellent condition with lots of room.Under the hood, you%26#8236;l find the massive 361 cubic inch V8 with a two barrel carburetor. The engine bay is clean and orderly. Mated to the engine is a push button automatic transmission. This car is equipped with power brakes, power steering and rarely seen factory air conditioning.
