PPI's WELCOME OFFERS WELCOME! Evolve Motors is pleased to present this 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda! This is not your ordinary Mopar. Coming off a fresh restoration in 2015 this car was built to it's factory options and specification and looks amazing. The best part is that while it retains all of her original driveline and engine, it has a freshly built motor. The original block is bored .60 over and a 4” stroker crank bring the displacement up to 416 cid. This Hemi/6-pack eating monster absolutely rips while retaining it's original facade. The car sounds incredible and is once of the most enjoyable cars to drive. Exterior: This ‘Cuda looks great wearing a fresh coat of its original Lime Green Metallic paint. Paint work appears to have been done to a high standard; green has a nice deep glow and the slight metallic sparkle of the finish gives the car a great shine. The black hockey-stick stripe does well to accentuate the car’s muscular lines and contrasts beautifully with the green metallic paint, as do the originally optioned Magnum 500 wheels. The car underwent a very thorough restoration in 2015, so the overwhelming majority of the car is in like-new condition. There are no dents, dings, or scratches to be found anywhere on the car. All chrome is intact and very well presented,. Panel fitment is good. We do note the gap between the hood and nose is slightly off; gap is negligible on the passenger side but a bit more noticeable on the driver’s side. We chose not to re-align the hood so we could avoid potentially marring the paint anywhere. Interior: This car was originally spec’d with a dark green interior, which was swapped out for a new black leather interior during the restoration. We think the black looks fantastic and, though not original, is a welcomed change. Interior presents as new and carries the smell of fresh carpet and vinyl. Seats are free of any cracks or scratches in the slightest. Carpeting is new. Door panels, dash, headliner, and steering wheel are mint. The only part of the interior that doesn’t appear new are the gauges; which show some slight patina but look fabulous. Radio is the correct Chrysler Solid State unit, and a USB plug-in has been fitted on the underside of the dash. Odometer reads 36,366 though with the amount of work that’s been done (keep reading…) is somewhat irrelevant. Mechanical: In 2015 the car had a full engine build, to the tune of nearly $9,000. Please see the photos, as the receipt from Matt’s Motor Worx in Minnesota is documented. All features function properly. The cars braking system is all rebuilt, as are most of the mechanicals. All bushings and wearables all show nicely, as you would expect. The carb is tuned nicely and it runs great. The transmission shifts nice and crisp. The car is wonderful to drive and makes amazing smooth power plus it sounds fantastic! Underbody: As evidenced in the photos, the underbody is quite nice. There is no through rust of any sort. All casting numbers are clearly visible and components show very little wear. We notice a dent in the right forward rail that was left alone when restored. The car is properly finish underneath and looks outstanding up in the air as you can see in our pictures. Overall: This is a sharp looking, fully-sorted example of one of the Mopar greats. It has the menacing muscle car appearance, performance, and sound, all while remaining elegant with its understated color. The 416 built motor is ready to walk all over any big block you put next to it. These cars are aging very well; with the recent restoration, this one just got a second lease on life and will be enjoyed for many, many more years. For any additional information or photo requests, don’t hesitate to reach out to Mike or Jake at 773-267-2684. WALKAROUND VIDEO: We are here to answer any questions that you may have. This attractive 1962 Mopar Fury Sport was the first year of the B-body used by Chrysler for several years. The body style, however, was only used for one year, with a signifcant restyling in the 1963 year. In other words, you don't see these every day! It's a 2-door hardtop (no B pillar). The interior soft surfaces are all new, including new leather seats, dash, carpet, headliner and trunk carpet. Exterior paint is in great condition and was recently painted. Most chrome has been replaced with new pieces. Some of the more difficult-to-find chrome pieces are original with mild pitting. Dashboard is original. The drive train has been updated. It has a 1970 440 engine (375hp) and a 3-speed push-button automatic, so it has quite a bit of power to put through it's 8 3/4 rear end (3.23 ratio). The dual exhaust is new and sounds appropriate! The suspension has new ball joints, upper and lower bushings. Brake are power disc up front and drums in the rear. Power steering works great. A new fuel tank has been installed. The wheels and tires are new and give it a nice stance. On arrival at Gator Motorsport, we performed an oil and filter change, transmission fluid change, coolant flush and installed a new radiator hose. Please consider this an invitation to visit Gator Motorsport! And there's just something about documented, SCCA-inspired pony cars that makes them universally appealing and highly collectable. Of course, we ALL know big block MoPars have been fetching big money prices for years. But what most collectors fail to realize is that equally exclusive small block cars, like this Mopar Nationals-winning AAR 'Cuda, are just as hot and sometimes a better investment. With their excellent combination of power and handling, broad aftermarket support system and increasingly rare status, these classics enjoy one of the fastest sell-through rates of anything in our showroom. And this Lemon Twist coupe is a factory-correct gem that'll likely follow the quick-sale path of its striped and piped siblings. If you want a truly exclusive classic that does more than blister a straight line and under steer through corners, you'd better hurry up and clear some garage space! BODYWORK/TRIM Assembled in Hamtramck, Michigan in April of 1970, this spectacular pentastar is the beneficiary of a professional restoration that was completed in October of 2010. During that thorough rebuild, the car's all-original body, which includes solid-closing doors on top of excellent panel alignment, was stripped to bare metal, massaged into shape and thoroughly block-sanded into virtually flawless surfaces. Once those surfaces were completely clean and fully prepped, correct Lemon Twist 2-stage was accented with correct strobe stripes and dressed in correct war paint. And today, after a mere 150 miles of road time, this precise Plymouth rolls as a national award-winning collector car that's primed for a serious investor. Not surprisingly, this AAR's track-bred appearance is backed by a long list of correct details. At the front of its glowing profile, a familiar, stainless-trimmed grille hangs a small "PLYMOUTH" script between clear headlights, flush-fit parking lamps, a correct elastomeric bumper and decaled driving lights. Behind that grille, a lightweight, AAR-exclusive hood, which is secured by fresh stainless lanyards, rolls a correct suede topcoat toward new glass that's framed in straight stainless trim. At the sides of that hood, bright door handles and correct racing mirrors combine with spotless exhaust tips and correct wind wings to provide an authentic, factory-fresh appearance. And at the back of the car, a Satin Black valence hangs fresh taillights and a small "'cuda" script between a second chrome bumper and correct ducktail spoiler. ENGINE Pull the pins on this coupe's matte-finished hood and you'll find an original, 340 cubic inch LA V8 that's authenticated by a familiar 3577130TA casting number, a November (11) 25th (25), 1969 (69) casting date and a matching partial VIN. Although SCCA Trans Am racecars were limited to 302 cubic inches, Plymouth stuck to the tried and true "no replacement for displacement" rule for street applications. That means this car received a powerplant that was specifically designed for high performance turnpike warriors. And, thanks to Holley tri-power carburetion, a correct Edelbrock intake, a high performance points distributor, high-flow cylinder heads and unique internals, it turned hefty 10.5 to 1 compression into 315 fire-breathing horses straight from the factory. That said; SCCA regulations and increasing insurance costs forced Chrysler to actually underrate the mill's output to just 290. But, in reality, the car easily disposed of most 'equally powered' stoplight challengers. Whatever the number, this engine's spotless bay is in brilliant, show-ready condition, displaying immaculate detailing and exact finishes throughout. Awesome Lemon Twist fenders provide excellent contrast to a glossy layer of Hemi Orange skin. A bright air cleaner looks great peeking through the aforementioned hood. And, as with most of today's award winning MoPars, every detail on this dyno-tuned beast has been returned to a convincing level of factory authenticity. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Park this impressive 'Cuda on a lift and you'll find exceptionally clean floors that feature a correct pattern of overspray. The high-winding small block churns power through an original A833 4-speed, which is authenticated by a March 12th, 1970 build stamp and matching partial VIN. That transmission spins a correct 8.75-inch axle. The car's suspension has been fully rebuilt to include factory power steering and correct power front disc and rear drum brakes. As expected, those 11-inch, AAR-exclusive drums are accompanied by specially tuned shocks and re-cambered springs that tilt the car to accommodate its unique exhaust pipes. Speaking of that exhaust, the usual 'muffler shop special' look has been exchanged for a clean, OEM-style appearance. And hooking all that mechanical prowess to the pavement is freshly restored Rallye wheels which spin E60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs in front of G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs to employ one of the first applications of staggered tire sizing. INTERIOR Swivel this Plymouth's solid-closing doors and you'll find a correct interior that's functional, straightforward and very livable. The front bucket and rear bench seats are wrapped in standard vinyl covers that display virtually no signs of wear. In front of those seats, a clean, wood-trimmed dash frames correct Rallye gauges above a correct Chrysler 8-track player. Fade-free carpet, weather-free door panels and a fresh headliner frame those components in a sea of serious black. The driver navigates the course through a wood-rimmed steering wheel and beefy Hurst Pistol Grip. And behind the cockpit, a fully finished trunk centers a correct jack and new space saver spare between a correct mat and new decklid decal. This is a true muscle car for the masses. Turn the key and feel that dual carb Hemi demand attention.Description 38,904 miles 426 HEMI, dual Edelbrock carbs 425 hp Automatic Documented, Certified Sometimes referred to as the gentleman’s muscle car, the Chrysler Corporation unveiled the GTX in 1967 and concluded production in 1971. During this short amount of time the car went through several body style changes yet still adhered to its sophisticated appearance. As speed enthusiasts know, it was the coveted Hemi engines that made these cars what they were then and what they are now--in demand! For 1969 the air grabber hood became a functional dual facing unit and Chrysler added two flat-black racing stripes down the hood. The ‘69 also saw upgrades including an improved suspension, camshaft with larger ports and valves, chrome exhaust tips, and front disc brakes. Under the hood was an 8-cyl. 426cid/425hp Hemi engine with 2 4bbl carbs. The exterior of this car is as it should be--straight and shiny with properly fitted panels. The chrome bumpers are in very good condition and the wheels and redline tires are simply awesome. The glass, lights and lenses are in very good condition as well. The interior is done in familiar black vinyl and includes a touch of wood grain finish on the center console, doors and across the dash which is in nice condition. Seats edges are very clean. The chrome plated solid state AM radio dials, wiper switch and horn are in very good condition. The GTX is comparatively rare today due in-part to its high cost relative to the Plymouth Road Runner. Clean originals are worth seeking out, not only because of that Hemi horsepower, but because they were better equipped when compared to most other muscle cars during that time. Note: This car is well documented and also Galen V. Govier certified. Please watch for more details and photos coming soon. At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. We want you to enjoy your new car from the minute it's delivered and the trailer door drops. Before a car leaves our shop, it's gone through comprehensively, both visually and mechanically. We do more than just kick the tires, though: We fill your tires with nitrogen, road test (if the weather permits us here in Cleveland!) and clean it inside and out. We buff the paint using a three-step process immediately before it's taken away so that it gleams when it arrives. Every car we sell, from Sunday drivers through the rarest exotics, is meant to be driven--get out there! If you have any questions before, during or after the sale, do not hesitate to contact us. If you're in need of incredible Hemi horse power wrapped in a classic package that doesn't require all the inherent stress of documented authenticity, we can offer you this clear solution. The recipient of an exquisite restoration, this sweet coupe is a perfect example of an ultra-straight, head turning car finished in Ivy Green (F6). Nestled in storage for over 15 years, this once dusty Plymouth was brought to Ohio from Texas where it received a comprehensive restoration from a very particular Mopar enthusiast. The body panels on this car are original and remain in exceptional condition. Factory weld spots look almost as they did when it rolled off the assembly line. Under the hood you'll discover a rebuilt 478 cubic inch Hemi pumping out 621 horses, fortified in Hemi orange. Dual Holley carburetors feed it fuel. This car's interior has been returned to new condition – from the steering column, to the seat covers and headliner – it is pristine. The quilted bench seat welcomes you while the wood grained steering wheel frames the center horn button which showcases the famous Road Runner. If you're looking for a Mopar that is exceptionally solid, meticulously restored with that awesome Hemi power, you owe it to yourself to inquire more about this car. And they were right! Description 10,158 miles 3.5L V-6 SOHC Alum Blk 4 speed automatic 42LE S Series Includes trailer! Beautiful custom Rosewood trim Intricate pin striping Clean CARFAX Wow! The Plymouth Prowler has been turning heads since it debuted as a concept car in 1993, and this 1999 Prowler has turned heads since it arrived! The shape of the windshield, the body proportions and the rear fenders all add up to one of the finest styling exercises to come out of Detroit! The chrome wheels are absolutely gorgeous and in new condition. The twin halogen tractor beams headlights fit beautifully and are scratch free. But the detail and precision of the dual colored pin striping is inspiring. Have a look at the photos, they are amazing! The interior of this car is nothing but stunning. Custom crafted and highly polished Rosewood trim is found throughout the car. It is rich and striking against the black leather interior. The seats form to your body as it did when new.Under the hood you'll find some surprises! It has a accents of chrome and a custom air brushed miniature mural of the car! This model has the second generation Chrysler 3.5L SOHC 24 valve V-6 that puts out 253 hp at 6,400 rpm and 255 lb-ft of torque at 3,950 rpm. It also has Borla Cat-Back exhaust system made of aircraft quality stainless steel, and the pipes have the Prowler Cat embossed on the highly polished 4-1/2” tips. This car has some significant engineering too. The front independent suspension is aluminum double wishbone Indy Car style with inboard high performance shocks. The rear is a lower wishbone with upper lateral links with coil springs over shocks. This is really trick stuff. The frame is a box rail extruded from 6061 and 6063 aluminum alloys in T6 temper. It has a four speed automatic transaxle for near 50/50 weight distribution and the body is made from aluminum alloys and injected molded urethanes. The brakes are four-wheel ventilated discs with composite rear rotors. Even the magnesium instrument panel serves as a structural cross member. It also stops traffic and people wherever it goes! This hot rod also includes an authentic Prowler trailer (with front-end cover bra), vehicle cover and Prowler floor mats! The ultra-cool trailer is hand-built and provides 23 cubic feet of cargo space. It includes chrome wheels and brake lights that match the car! This car could be put on a pedestal at the New York Museum of Modern Art, but what a waste that would be. It belongs in the garage of someone who's as excited as we are to offer it!At the Motor Car Group, we're enthusiasts first. Galen Govier Registered Road Runner with Hemi BlueChip Motorcars is pleased to offer a first generation 1968 Road Runner two-door pillar coupe with the desired high-performance Hemi 426 Stage II engine (period correct), the embodiment of what real muscle cars should be – no frills and packed with power. Not many production cars dominated the street and strip like the Hemi-equipped Road Runner in the late Sixties. When it first rolled off the assembly line in 1968, the legendary Road Runner with the 425-horsepower engine, instantly became an icon for everything that was good about the muscle car era.The first generation Road Runner, as seen, with the fabled Hemi continues to excite astute collectors for its role in automotive history, including its impressive racing heritage.Today, 47 years after it first rolled off the assembly floor for the Chrysler Corporation’s Plymouth division in Lynch Road, Michigan, the Hemi-equipped Road Runner, based on the Belvedere platform, still remains in a class of its own.Not content with anything less than perfection, its previous owner took this ’68 Road Runner pillar coupe to JMC Performance less than two years ago, and embarked on a complete frame-off, rotisserie-style restoration. No less than $45,000 went into the restoration to bring the car to this level of condition. However, not before Mopar specialist, Galen’s Registry of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, decoded VIN RM21J8A225551 and the styling tags, which ultimately told the detailed and accurate story of a factory 426 cubic-inch Hemi Road Runner outfitted with torsion bar and leaf spring Hemi suspension, a Torqueflite automatic transmission and the nortorious Stage II package. According to Galen’s Registry, this car was the real deal.It is also a limited-run coupe in automatic trim, in fact, only 390 automatics were produced in 1968, and very few of those original cars remain – either destroyed by accidents, or have since rusted away.We learned that Galen’s Registry researched this car’s production history down to its Beep Beep sounding horn assembly and radio delete, silver and black vinyl interior package with the split bench seat, which were beautifully restored by JMC.Now on the road after being meticulously reassembled from tip to tip with a period-correct Hemi, the car looks and sounds incredible. A look underneath reveals factory correct rebuilt or replaced suspension components front and rear, all new brake and fuel lines and the correct Hemi oil pan. Fortunately, it had a rust-free undercarriage, and no patches were used. What’s more, it features the factory correct 8 ¾-inch rear end and has Posi-traction.The Road Runner sports the correct 15×6-inch stamped steel dog-dish wheels with painted body color and hubcaps wrapped in reproduction steel-belted Firestone redline tires. All major aspects of the restoration process were photographed and cataloged (see digital images www.deluxerods.com.) Essentially, JMC paid careful attention to every nut and bolt, and restored the car to like-new condition, including using the period-correct Hemi 426 engine and the correct licensed reproduction 26-inch radiator from Chrysler. Smaller items got as much attention as the larger ones; new door locks, seat belts, ashtray, headliner, alternator, and custom dual exhaust were added as the work was underway. Nothing on the build would be overlooked and no expense spared to make it right, and to match the VIN and style code findings uncovered by Galen Govier. As the style codes revealed, this Road Runner features the original standard horizontal instrument cluster with alternator gauge, fuel gauge, 120 mph speedometer, temperature gauge and oil light. It retains the original column shifter and steering wheel. The car shows 59,356 miles on the odometer, and it drives beautifully with no overheating issues in traffic, and lots of torque at acceleration. This is a solid car that needs nothing more than a loving new owner. 0 0 1 840 4789 Quick Dog Productions 39 11 5618 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE CONTACT: For additional information call BlueChip Motorcars at (949) 496-3000, or call direct (949)922-1006. About Factory Correct Cars offered by BlueChip Motorcars BlueChip Motorcars periodically offers classic cars that may be listed as Factory Correct, or Numbers Matching. Because there are many opinions about the term(s) used to describe these types of listings, allow us to explain how BlueChip Motorcars comes to that assessment. As you may know, depending on the source, the term “matching numbers, or factory correct,” may mean many things to many people. Purists might define it as a car with every possible window crank, dash knob or even every nut and bolt is original to the car from the time it left the production line. Although some classic cars do exist in that rare condition, most do not. The majority of classic cars on the market were at some point in their ownership, restored or repaired with NOS parts (new old stock) or licensed reproduction parts. Whenever the information is available to us about the use of these parts, BlueChip Motorcars will gladly pass it along to the potential buyer. BlueChip Motorcars uses the term Factory Correct or Numbers Matching only to distinguish a vehicle where the engine casting code corresponds with the VIN and Cowl Tag code. If these codes tell the same story about the car in question, BlueChip Motorcars then considers it to be a Factory Correct or Numbers Matching vehicle. However, unless otherwise stated, the transmission, rear end, and transmission may or may not be original to the car. BlueChip Motorcars welcomes all potential buyers to verify all the information with a qualified expert. We would be happy to email you all the numbers that are obtainable on any vehicle where the term Factory Correct or Matching Numbers is used.

I mean, it'd have to be a car that's fast, stylish, technological, luxurious and built with an astute attention to detail. It'd also have to be a car that's exclusive, turns heads and has potential for major collectability. How about this super low-mileage Prowler? With an aluminum V6, a modern 4-speed, an aluminum-intensive frame, a hand-built body and a stylish leather interior, it's every bit as meticulous as it is reliable. And since only 11K of these purpose-built halo cars were produced, you'd better believe it's poised for a surge in popularity. If you're looking for a showroom-fresh cruiser that's cool, comfortable and ready to roll, this Plymouth is your kind of car! BODYWORK/TRIM Penned by Chrysler engineers who were given free rein to create whatever they wanted in a sportster type vehicle, this pristine drop-top exhibits the perfect combination of hot rod style and advanced technology. Today, after years of fastidious work to keep its 2-stage urethane clean and ultra-shiny, the car's glossy factory body looks brand new in virtually every way. And speaking of that pin striped body, it's 1 of only 711 Prowler Silver Prowlers built for the 2000 model year. Judging by this roadster's mirror-like reflections, it's probably never seen rain or, for that matter, been outside of a climate-controlled garage long enough to really know what sunshine is. Since all Prowlers were completely hand assembled at Chrysler's Conner Avenue facility in Detroit, Michigan, they typically show stellar fit and above average build quality. And this one, with its narrow gaps, solid-closing doors and tight-sealing top, looks and feels better than most cars twice our asking price! ENGINE When Prowlers finally hit the streets, many purists were upset that a V6 was the only powertrain option. What those purists failed to realize was: 1) with 253 horses and 250 lb./ft. of torque, the car's 3.5 liter, 24-valve SOHC V6 was making virtually the same power as Chrysler's Magnum V8s, and 2) when combined with the car's lightweight chassis and low center of gravity, it posted some very impressive performance numbers. Mechanically, this Plymouth's all-aluminum engine is showroom new in just about every possible way. Naturally, the mill has benefitted from basic maintenance but, beyond that, everything is essentially fresh out of the box. It certainly appears that the car has been driven often enough to keep every system in top operating condition. And, not only does the smooth sixer fire up instantly and idle perfectly, it moves its relatively lightweight payload with real authority. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Behind that buff V6, a 42LE 4-speed automatic transaxle, which features an 'AutoStick' gear change setting, is more of a toy than a functional performance improvement. But it fits the Prowler's persona perfectly, and far more of today's "real" hot rods are built with automatics than stick shifts. So, who can blame Chrysler for doing their homework and giving the public what it actually wants? That road-ready drivetrain is held off the ground by an aluminum-intensive chassis, which is equipped with an independent double A-arm front and multi-link rear suspension. Koni coil-overs combine with standard stabilizer bars and power rack-and-pinion steering to carve curves for lunch and eat potholes for dinner. Stops come courtesy of four composite discs, which measure 11 inches up front and 13 inches out back. The engine growls a rowdy, throaty exhaust note through two fat pipes, which exit just under the rear bumpers. A bit of flash is provided by standard chrome wheels, which spin 225/45R17 Goodyear Eagle GS-Ds in front of 295/40R20 Goodyear Eagle GS-Ds. And all that advanced hardware results in a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, making this roadster an absolute blast to drive! INTERIOR Inside Chrysler's neo street rod you'll find a fashionable Agate interior that represents drop-top cruising at its very best. At the center of the cockpit, the driver and passenger benefit from plush leather seats that are stitched around monochromatic Prowler logos. In front of the driver, a factory tach is perched top-dead-center of a tilt steering wheel that anchors redundant audio buttons opposite factory cruise control. At the front of the car, a 150 MPH speedometer centers four accessory gauges inside a silver instrument panel. A short, factory shifter controls Chrysler's highly regarded AutoStick feature. Naturally, the windows, locks and mirrors are all power operated. There's a pair of protective, "Prowler" branded floor mats. And a superb 320-watt, 7-speaker sound system comes standard with a 6-disc CD changer that's located just behind the passenger's seat. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIESThe car's original Owner's Manual and component literatureMiscellaneous service recordsA matching trailerA convertible cowl coverTwo Prowler-branded bagsA few spare partsMiscellaneous interior baubles The bottom line: This is A LOT of bang for your buck! Low miles, great looks, excellent performance and the kind of ownership experience most OEMs can't touch. What more could you ask for? Not only is this Prowler fast, it's also a very competent cruiser that features plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the warm summer sunshine. If you're looking for a low-mileage drop-top that's a tour de force of style and attitude, this Plymouth is your next car! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda Documented Restored Investment Grade Black Velvet 'Cuda 383 V8 A833 4 Speed Year: 1971 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 92183 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 383 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle Info It doesn't take long for car guys to put 383 and 1320 together. While Chrysler may have intended Mopar-branded pony cars to be small block-powered curve carvers, their conservative proportions and relative light weight equaled lethal stoplight potential that just couldn't be ignored. And this 383 'Cuda is one of such 'balanced' performer that trades a nose-heavy Hemi for something a bit more rounded. Dressed in some of the most sinister livery Auburn Hills has ever created, this striking Plymouth has a bold look that presents as new thanks to a professional, ground-up restoration. The car is fully documented, retaining a numbers-matching drivetrain and all-original sheetmetal. And, with an excellent combination of provenance and personality, it presents the perfect opportunity to kick off a serious muscle car collection! Speaking of provenance and personality, here's a detailed look at this 'Cuda's glossy fender tag:E65: 383 cubic inch V8D21: Heavy duty 4-speed manual transmissionB: Plymouth BarracudaS: Special23: 2-door hardtopN: 383 cubic inch V8 that utilizes 1 4-barrel carburetor to create 300 horsepower1: 1971 model yearB: Assembled at Dodge Main in Hamtramck, Michigan272782: Production sequence numberTX9: Black Velvet paintH: High trim grade6: Vinyl bucket seatsXW: Black & White interior000: Full door panels125: Assembled on January 25th, 1971E33171: Order numberV1X: Black vinyl topC16: ConsoleC55: Bucket seatsJ45: Hood pinsJ54: Sport HoodM21: Drip rail moldingsM25: Wide sill moldingsM31: Belt & hood moldingsM88: Quarter panel tape stripesN41: Dual exhaustN42: Chrome exhaust tipsR11: Music Master AM radioEN: End of codes2: Assembly line 2 With most classics, a single element usually catches your eye long before anything else. But with this Plymouth, EVERY piece works together to create a virtual symphony of automobilia. With a solid hardtop body that features 100% original sheetmetal, this is the kind of car that would turn heads in primer; and what better way to ensure sore neck muscles than covering it in correct Black Velvet two-stage? That paint coats fit and finish which puts factory-original cars to shame. That fit and finish is augmented by slick white accents which recreate traditional Mopar markings. And to ensure this 'Cuda isn't just another fish in the sea, every one of its facets was buffed to a show-stopping shine! Unlike most dressed and decaled cars, which tend to throw good taste out the window, this awesome E-Body seamlessly balances a serious demeanor with flashy good looks. At the front of its broad shouldered body, a stainless-trimmed, 1971-exclusive grille hangs four halogen headlights above a showroom-fresh bumper and clear, sculpted parking lamps. At the top of that grille, a "'Cuda 383" branded hood props two stainless lanyards and a small "PLYMOUTH" script in front of like-new glass, clean stainless trim and Black Velvet mirrors. At the sides of that hood, satin door handles and stylish fender vents ride above fresh wheel lips, straight rocker trim and a trademark Chrysler pentastar. And at the back of the car, a Satin Black valence hangs a cool "'Cuda by PLYMOUTH" emblem between clear tail lights, a second chrome bumper and correct exhaust tips. Hoist this Mopar's awesome hood and you'll find an original, 383 cubic inch Magnum V8 that hangs a familiar 2468130 casting number between an October (10) 7th (7) of 1970 (70) casting date and matching partial VIN. Almost as popular Plymouth's famed Super Commando, and just as storied, Chrysler's mighty Magnum V8 was designed to be a great combination of thrift and performance. At the top of the stout mill, an American-made carburetor breathes through a correct air cleaner that's covered in a striking combination of fresh Organisol and traditional lettering. Below that carburetor, a spotless orange block wears familiar steel valve covers and professionally restored exhaust manifolds. The big engine's fires are lit by 7mm Standard wires, a reproduction Chrysler voltage regulator and a proven points distributor. And cooling is provided by a beefy Chrysler radiator, which is augmented with authentic squeeze clamps and pliable Chrysler hoses. Take a second to refocus your eyes on the clean engine bay and you'll find details like a correct washer tank, a bright green throttle spring and a familiar red cap battery. And the entire set up, from its fenders to its firewall, is coated in the same TX9 black as the car's glossy exterior panels. As expected, this 'Cuda's fully sorted chassis is every bit as clean and road-ready as its solid body and throaty engine. A rugged A833 4-speed, which is branded with a matching partial VIN, churns power to a tough Chrysler rear end. Included in the restoration was a completely rebuilt suspension that, when combined with correct manual steering, helps the car hook up quick and perform great. Braking, which is surprisingly competent for a 43 year old design, comes courtesy of four beefy drums. Spent gases are escorted rearward by aluminized, true-dual pipes that roar through deep turbo mufflers and fantastic resonators. At the corners, 14-inch steelies spin fresh F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Custom Wide Treads around stainless center caps. And, aesthetically, the bottom of this super cool Plymouth is cased and ready to roll, with over-restored floors framing a roster of proven components. Swivel this 'Cuda's solid-closing doors and you'll find a correct two-tone interior that's functional, straightforward and very livable. The front bucket and rear bench seats are covered in crack-free vinyl that displays very few signs of wear. Below those seats, stain-free carpet centers thick rubber floor mats on a wood-trimmed console and Hurst pistol grip shifter. At the sides of that carpet, sculpted panels proudly hang the Cuda name above traditional window cranks, integrated door handles and cool chrome locks. In front of those panels, a clean black dash props rebuilt factory gauges above a familiar Chrysler Solid State. Above that dash, a fresh headliner frames a fully functional courtesy lamp. In front of the driver, an attractive, wood-rimmed steering wheel mixes subtle form with major function. And behind the passengers, a fully restored trunk hangs a correct decklid decal above a new mat, new jack and new spare tire. This impressive coupe's sale includes two original broadcast sheets, original marketing materials and an album of restoration photos. Thanks to its solid restoration, exceptional performance and classic good looks, this 'Cuda is poised to please even the most discerning muscle car enthusiast. Fully sorted in every way, you can drive it, show it and take home a few trophies, all for about half the price of a 'ropes and red carpet' Hemi. At the front of the car, a 150 MPH speedometer centers four accessory gauges inside a glossy instrument panel. Beneath that dash, a short factory shifter controls Chrysler's highly regarded AutoStick feature. Naturally, the windows, locks and mirrors are all power operated. There's a pair of protective, "Prowler" branded floor mats. And a superb 320-watt, 7-speaker sound system comes standard with a 6-disc CD changer that's located just behind the passenger's seat. It's almost a certainty that Prowlers will continue to get more expensive. They're an interesting footnote to a memorable period when Chrysler's bold swagger was reflected in its cool products. On top of all that, this low-mileage garage queen is an exceptionally fun 2-seater that features a sporty V6, excellent driving dynamics and looks that get more attention than Scarlett Johanssen! That means all those catchy sayings you've heard about North Carolina country boys being brave, polite and simple are absolutely true. See, gearheads in the Tar Heel state know all it takes to have a good time is something with an engine, something with bullets or somewhere with a little bit of land. And that basic outlook on life is probably why we've built such a great reputation as fun-loving, free-spirited adventurers. The all-original time capsule 'Cuda you see here was custom-ordered by one of North Carolina's most fearless backwoods daredevils, and spent most of its life sitting in his world-class car and motorcycle collection. Not only is the car packed full of rare and unique options, it's also equipped with a top-of-the-line, high performance drivetrain, still covered in original paint and still cradling a 2,010 mile original Hemi V8. We all know time travel, however desirable it may be, as a phenomenon that's only found in fiction. But when you take one look at this untouched Plymouth survivor, the ultimate, lowest mileage reference-grade Hemicuda in existence, you'll begin to question both your sense of time and perception! There's a reason, per auctions results, the 1971 Hemicuda is the most valuable muscle car of all time: they were unique and exclusive cars even when new. And, as with any hand-picked hobby car, you really can't get a feel for this Plymouth's significance until you thoroughly understand its owner. Zachary Taylor Reynolds, born in 1938, lived a life most people only dream about. He was the grandson of the world's biggest tobacco tycoon, the son of a prominent political figure and the heir to seemingly unlimited money, fame and intelligence. By the early 1900s the Reynolds family's penchant for reckless behavior was already a subject of national conversation. But in the midst of the roaring 20s Zach's dad Dick Reynolds, and the uncle Zach was named for, sealed the deal by becoming well-known members of New York's Gotham club scene and transporting Mafia bootleggers on their personal planes. Eventually that risky lifestyle gave way to Zach's uncle dying under mysterious circumstances, and Dick moving back to Winston-Salem to become a pillar of the community and the Mayor of the city. But Dick was a natural wonderer, and although he wanted to settle down and raise his young family, he just couldn't resist a chance to sign up for the Navy and rediscover adventure. Unfortunately his combat service in World War II did not quell his appetite for new acquaintances, and it wasn't long until his wife Elizabeth learned of her pending divorce via a popular radio news show. Now charged with raising four kids by herself, Zach's mother decided he and his younger brother would eschew the prominent private educations of her two eldest sons in favor of public schools and summers on the family's 12,000 acre estate. A few years later, with only one parent in the house and 22 miles of fenced in property at his fingertips, nine year old Zach had already become an avid gun enthusiast; a skill that would later net him a national marksmanship title. And by the time he attended R.J. Reynolds high school, Zach had already established his first motorcycle club and become a race winning rider. Unfortunately the unscathed survival of a few serious wrecks slowly convinced young Zach of his perceived indestructibility, and he began spending most of his nights terrorizing the streets of the town his family essentially founded. The police were none-to-happy about Zach's penchant for blatant street racing and daredevil trickery and, at his mother's urging, made him spend many nights in jail and eventually revoked his license. Not to be outsmarted, and knowing North Carolina doesn't require a license to operate a tractor, Zach simply re-geared one of his family's rigs and happily chugged up and down Winston-Salem's quaint country roads at speeds approaching 60 MPH. Fortunately all those growing pains weren't in vain as Zach ultimately wanted to become an engineering undergrad student. However, his mom insisted he attend Wake Forest University, a nearby college that was devoid of engineering programs, and Zach eventually swapped educational ambition for enlistment in the Navy. After four years honing his mechanical prowess in a Virginia ship yard Zach came home to find that his absentee father, who was displeased with his daredevil lifestyle, had disowned him AND his three brothers. But Zach, already substantially wealthy thanks to several independent family trusts, had no intentions of changing for anyone and began building one of the world's largest private motorcycle and muscle car collections. The Hemicuda you're currently looking at was special ordered from Ed Owens Plymouth in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to be a centerpiece of his amazing collection. Serviced and inspected by Zach's friend Lonnie Maines, it's not only one of the highest optioned 'Cudas ever built, it's also a fully documented, reference-grade survivor that still has many traces of its original owner ingrained in its octane-rich DNA. Zach knew actions speak louder than words, and he also knew there wasn't one single person on this planet he had to impress. That laissez-faire outlook and subsequent freedom from societal norms allowed him to pull off a certain flamboyance and creativity that ONLY someone of his presence and stature can. I mean, do you know anyone else who can don a red jumpsuit, wrap up in a black cape, ham-fist a skull swagger stick and be taken remotely seriously; let alone look straight badass while doing it? No. That's because Zach possessed a perfect balance of danger, charisma and youthful charm that was as intriguing as it was welcoming; and all that character and personality certainly flowed into his cars and bikes. Being the heir to the Reynolds tobacco empire, and having an avid love of Winston cigarettes, Zach predictably ordered his brand spankin' new 'Cuda in Chrysler's FE5 Rallye Red, a V1X black vinyl top and V6X Hemi billboards. When the car arrived at Ed Owens' dealership a few touch ups were performed on its hood and fenders, 70s assembly line quality being what it was, and the black billboards were automatically accented with white Hemi letters and white outlining stripes that continued onto the car's profile. As any decent daredevil knows, you can't be good at cheating death unless you taunt death; so in addition to having his name painted right above both of the car's door handles Zach commenced decorating its fenders, hood and trunk with his typical array of skull decals, ace of spades decals and American flag decals. For the first 30 years of its life, this is exactly how the car would remain. It was only after a high caliber Mopar collector Steven Juliano bought it from a North Carolina museum that it was returned to 100% factory luster. Steven determined the only way to safely separate the vintage decals from the vintage paint was to carefully scrape them with his finger nails. The painted "ZACH" letters on the doors were whittled to a mere outline using a mild buffing compound. And the entire car was treated to a through polish and shine. Today, 16 years after that cosmetic freshening, this 'Cuda sits as one fantastically straight head turner which possesses new car solidity and looks as if it could have rolled out of Dodge Main yesterday. And lest you think Zach's spirit isn't still with the car, one careful look at its doors reveals the faint outline of his official brandings! Of course, even without Zach's unique aesthetic tweaks, this sinister stoplight brawler is still very easy on the eyes and STILL some of the meanest looking muscle to ever grace American roads. At the front of the car, an optional Rallye Red multiport grille hangs four 1971-exclusive halogen headlights above a showroom fresh chrome bumper, original chrome road lamps, flush-fitting parking lights and optional wing spoilers. At the top of the car, a fresh air hood props stainless hood pins, a small chrome "PLYMOUTH" script and a "hemicuda" branded shaker in front of original tinted glass that's cleared by turtleback wipers and framed by original stainless trim. At the sides of the car, original Hemi Fender's hang small turn signal indicators and 1971-exclusive fender gills in front of optional body-matched racing mirrors, satin-finished door handles, optional door edge guards and dent-free rocker mouldings. And at the back of the car, a traditional flat black valence centers a cool silver "'cuda by PLYMOUTH" emblem and 1971-exclusive tail lights between original rear window louvers, an optional decklid wing, a second showroom fresh chrome bumper and correct stainless exhaust tips. Despite his loved ones' constant attempts to dampen his desire for fast cars with storms of personal threats, Zach always drove the most impressive metal in town. There was the infamous Catalina 421 Super Duty he purchased for "family transportation". There was the 140 MPH NASCAR-built Cobra he bought to outrun a few specific loudmouths. There was his custom-built, rocket powered Ford Galaxie that made a 200 MPH pass down Interstate 40 and became unofficially known as The Tobacco King. Hell he even had five planes, including one custom-built Pitts, which earned him both a national aerobatics title and the nickname Cigarette City Flash! The point is: Zach ALWAYS had a need for speed and an appetite for the very best. And given how well he and his friends maintained his lust-worthy collection, the engine bay of this top-dog 'Cuda is exactly how you'd expect it to be. There's an all-original, low-mileage Hemi which wears a correct 2468330-2 casting number above a matching 295999 partial VIN. There's a gracious amount of original Hemi Orange overspray that creeps onto the engine's closest ancillary components. And there's original Rallye Red paint covering a firewall and inner fenders that look so fresh they've likely never seen a mechanic's cover. Fuel and air are supplied by two 4-barrel Carter AFB carburetors which are bolted to a high performance intake manifold. Compression is sparked by high quality Chrysler Electronic Suppression wires which are snapped onto an original dual point distributor. Spent gases are expelled through original low restriction exhaust manifolds which seal tight below an obviously vintage set of Organisol coated valve covers. And resultant combustion is cooled by a 26 inch heavy duty radiator that comes complete with original hoses, original squeeze clamps and an original fan shroud. Visually, this reference grade engine compartment is clean and understated... Well, as understated as an all-original, matching numbers HEMI can be. The engine cranks immediately and runs just as well today as when it rolled into Ed Owens showroom. And there are tons of little details like specific fuel lines, original carburetor hardware, original brake booster hardware, original coil wiring, mild weave hoses and original factory-fill fluids that can't even be duplicated by today's nicest NOS and concours cars. Ace stunt pilot or not, I don't think Zach ever got the wheels of this solid Plymouth off the ground. But if you decide to do just that, hopefully via a conventional lift instead of an actual flight plan, you'll find a clean original undercarriage that appears so untouched it could have been teleported straight from 1971. The high powered big block spins an original A727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission that's branded with a correct 3515849 Barracuda code and a matching 295999 partial VIN. And that heavy duty gear slinger churns torque through an optional Dana 60 rear end that's still equipped with a tough Sure Grip differential, killer 4.10 gears and an original factory paper strap that's branded with a build sheet matching 026 part number. At the front of the car an original torsion bar suspension, which is complete with a thick sway bar, specially tuned shocks and original control arms that still display a thin layer of factory Cosmoline, helps increase both drivability and track times. At the back of the car, the aforementioned Dana pumpkin utilizes original leaf springs and a second pair of specially tuned shocks to ensure tight turns and drama free launches. Stops come courtesy of an optional power brake system that employs optional front discs and traditional rear drums. Turns feels firm and responsive thanks to a factory optioned power steering. Spent gases are whisked away by an original true dual exhaust system which features an H-pipe crossover, rear-mounted resonators and Chrysler branded turbo mufflers. And all this first rate hardware proudly stands on original 15 inch Rallye wheels which wrap original F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around pristine center caps and spotless trim rings. Aesthetically, the bottom of this Super Track Pack 'Cuda is just as reference-grade as its engine bay. And all its original details, including optional undercoated floors, hasty paint drips, standard chalk marks, steel chassis hardware and an old school stainless gas tank are precisely where the factory left them. Ever hear the old southern saying "I told you this story to tell you another story"? Well, I'm going to tell you a short story to tell you an even shorter story. While recovering from a motorcycle accident that landed him in the hospital, Zach ordered a small Ham radio to stave off boredom. That little bit of exposure to the hobby excited him so much he built an entire two-room system in his house that could broadcast worldwide. Among other people, Zack often talked to the Shah of Iran and Arizona native Barry Goldwater; and his signal became so powerful the FCC would regularly visit his house to complain about his interference with local radio stations. Now, I told you that story to highlight a very rare option in Zach's 'Cuda. Because he was such an audiophile, he was one of the few guys to actually check the order form for a premium factory stereo that came complete with a microphone jack and a recorder. Of course, when it comes to most Hemicudas, there are two things to consider: 1) They were bought mainly for performance, and 2) The addition of Chrysler's almost $900 Hemi usually didn't leave much room for frivolous extra-cost luxuries. But I guess one of the many perks of being a millionaire heir to the world's largest tobacco company is checking the box for pretty much anything you want, anytime. Inside the car a rare split bench front, full bench rear seat combination displays virtually no signs of wear at all. Opposite those seats, a fresh black dash hangs and a fully-functional Rallye instrument cluster above a standard Music Master AM/FM radio, an optional locking glove box and a lit ashtray that still conceals butts from Zach's beloved Winston cigarettes. On the doors, sculpted panels proudly hang bold "'Cuda" emblems above optional power window switches, integrated door handles and chrome lock latches. The driver interfaces with the road through an optional three-spoke Rim Blow steering wheel and a chrome column shifter. And the passengers stow their cargo in a virtually untouched trunk that props an original mat and an original Space Saver spare tire below optional rear window speakers, an optional rear window defroster, and factory wing springs. Just in case this world class Tar Heel survivor's amazing story isn't enough to impress you, it also comes with extensive documentation and the provenance of being part of high profile Mopar collector Steven Juliano's ultimate collection. According to the car's Mopar Action spread Steven, who exclusively buys Mopars "the hardest of the hardcore collectors can only dream about", wanted to find the ultimate Hemicuda and subsequently put the word out in his inner circle of Mopar aficionados. An associate of well-known restorer Roger Gibson mentioned Zach's 2,000 mile survivor and, after a few leads, Steven finally got a number and made the call. The owner promptly told Steven the car wasn't for sale but did eventually agree to let him look at it. So Steven grabbed fellow Mopar aficionado Tony D'Agostino, landed in the piedmont of North Carolina and, after two hours of crawling all over this 'Cuda, realized he had actually found the kind of survivor that's usually reserved for car guy fantasies. Upon asking Tony his thoughts, he received the response "If you don't buy this car right now, I will. And I'll never need to own another Mopar as long as I live." And that's all Steven needed to hear to blurt the word "DEAL!" before the owner even finished naming his price. Here's an itemized list of this one-of-a-kind Hemicuda's documentation:The original broadcast sheet outlined aboveThe car's original factory punch cardThe car's original two page window stickerEd Owens original bill of sale for the carA small stack of Ed Owens original warranty and dealership paperwork pertaining to the carA copy of Zach's original title for the carThe car's original owner's manualProof of the car's insurance that dates back to 1971One of the car's original vehicle registration cards that's dated to 1973A small, hand-written maintenance logA 1985 North Carolina state inspection that shows the car had only racked up 1,928 miles at that timeAn extensive write up on Zach Reynolds and his passion for all things mechanicalA copy of the car's cover spread in the June 2005 edition of Mopar Action. Throughout his life "Dr. Zach" was in the company of celebrities, rock stars and what most considered the upper crust of society. But no matter who visited him, or who he traveled to see, he always called Winston-Salem his home and Winston-Salem residents his closest friends. Unfortunately time waits for no one and Zach, now pushing his 40s, had suffered a series of accidents and was beginning to have premonitions of dying in a plane crash. At the behest of his wife, he decided to quit flying altogether and settled into being a mentor and friend for community kids who had long admired his daredevil spirit. One of those kids, a local 18 year old, had just gotten his pilot's license and was eager to take Zach up to show him a few moves. Given his premonitions Zach was secretly reluctant, but his kind nature would never allow him say no to a kid. On that fateful evening in 1979, the tenth anniversary of Zach's national aerobatics championship, he would take off from his namesake uncle's regional airport and perish in a terrible plane crash. His friends and fans in Winston-Salem remember him as someone that, despite his privileged status, was always magnetic, warm, welcoming and exceedingly generous. And one friend described his perpetual youth by saying: "When we were 10, Zach was 14. When we were 19, Zach was still 14". As an avid gearhead, it seems only fitting that Zach Reynolds would pass his gift of perpetual youth to his amazing cars. Flashy, unique, scary and possessing the best of everything this car, the ultimate reference-grade 1971 Hemicuda in existence, is a refreshing reminder that extraordinary things ARE still possible and extraordinary things DO still exist. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda Documented Rotisserie Restored 'Cuda 383 V8 4 Speed Year: 1971 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 92183 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 383 V8 Interior color: Black Vehicle info It doesn't take long for car guys to put 383 and 1320 together. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda Documented Numbers Matching 'Cuda 440 6 BBL 4 Speed Year: 1970 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Purple Mileage: 40019 Transmission type: 4 Speed Manual Engine: 440 V8 Interior color: White Vehicle info When it comes to collectability, few cars match the term better than the legendary Plymouth 'cuda. Chrysler's storied E-bodies were among the first muscle cars to draw serious money on the auction block. And today, they continue to be some of the best 4-wheeled investments on the market. Equity aside, this In Violet coupe represents a roster of great numbers. For starters, it's car 62 of only 164 440 6 BBL 'cudas listed in the Chrysler Registry. It's also 1 of just 902 1970 'cudas to leave the assembly line backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. And, in addition to being well optioned, it's fully documented from its original broadcast sheets all the way to its VIN-stamped V8. If you're looking for a cool E-body to round out your Mopar collection, take a minute to quantify this slick purple Plymouth! Since our sale includes substantial provenance, there's little doubt about the authenticity of the car's present appearance. Here's a detailed look at the aforementioned broadcast sheets:B: Plymouth BarracudaS: Special23: 2-door hardtopV: 440 cubic inch V8 that utilizes three 2-barrel carburetors to create 390 horsepower0: 1970 model yearB: Assembled at Chrysler's Dodge Main facility in Hamtramck, MichiganE87: 440 cubic inch V8 that utilizes three 2-barrel carburetors to create 390 horsepowerD21: Heavy duty 4-speed manual transmissionD58: Dana 60 axle that's fitted with 4.10 gearsT87: F70-14 raised white letter tiresH: High trim grade6: Vinyl bucket seatsXW: Black and White interior000: Full door panelsV01: Monotone paintFC7: Plum Crazy Purple body paintFC7: Plum Crazy Purple roof paintV6X: Black longitudinal sports stripesA21: Elastomeric, collapsible front bumperA34: Super Track Pak that's complete with a Dana 60 axle and 4.10 gearsB41: Front disc brakesB51: Power-assisted brakesC55: Bucket seatsC93: CarpetF25: 70-amp Mopar red cap batteryG31: Right-hand manual race mirrorG33: Left-hand remote race mirrorG41: Day/night rearview mirrorH11: Front heater that includes a defrosterJ15: Cigar lighterJ25: 3-speed variable wipersJ31: Dual hornsJ45: Hood pins that are affixed with lanyardsM21: Drip rail moldingsM25: Wide sill moldingsM26: Wheel lip moldingsM31: Belt moldingsM71: Painted front bumperM83: Rear bumper guardsM88: Lower decklid moldingN41: Dual exhaustN42: Chrome exhaust tipsN51: Maximum engine coolingN65: 7-blade clutch fanN96: Shaker hoodR11: Music Master AM radioS15: Hemi SuspensionS25: Heavy duty firm ride shocksS31: Front sway barS81: Simulated wood steering wheelW21: Rallye wheels Initially sold at James Motor Company in Rapid City, South Dakota, and spending most of its life as a clean daily driver, this awesome Mopar was the perfect starting point for a high quality Le Hodge restoration. The car's arrow-straight body, which includes solid-closing doors on top of better-than-factory alignment, was stripped to bare metal and massaged into spectacular surfaces. Once those surfaces were completely clean and fully prepped, a correct coat of High Impact FC7 was detailed with white hockey stripes and sealed under a glossy clearcoat. And today, this positively vivid Plymouth sits as one super slick road warrior that features a perfect combination of no-nonsense looks and vicious street manners. Thanks to a 1970 redesign, the 'Cuda lost all commonality with its Valiant stablemate and finally traded its lowly economy car lineage for the square-jawed muscle car image we all know and love. At the front of this sinister stoplight brawler, a silver, "PLYMOUTH" branded grille hangs crystal clear head lamps above a correct elastomeric bumper and familiar, GE-sourced driving lights. At the top of that grille, a "'Cuda 440-6" branded shaker props traditional stainless pins in front of like-new glass, straight stainless trim and chrome race mirrors. At the sides of that shaker, textured rocker trim, dent-free wheel frames and pristine Chrysler door handles highlight a smooth, professionally finished profile. And at the back of the car, a traditional black valence hangs like-new tail lights and a cool silver "'Cuda" emblem behind correct deck trim, a bright chrome bumper and square exhaust tips. Hoist the hood and you'll find an original, 440 cubic inch RB V8 that's authenticated by a correct 2536430 casting number, a July (7) 29th (29) 1969 (69) casting date and matching 178663 partial VIN. More popular than Chrysler's famed Hemi, and almost as feared, Plymouth's 390 horsepower, 440 6 BBL powerplant was designed to be the industry's best combination of comfort, streetability and big block performance. Oxygen whips through a striking silver shaker to three 2-barrel carburetors, which are bolted over a glossy, Hemi Orange intake. In front of that intake, a familiar points distributor sequences fire through fresh Chrysler Electronic Suppression wires. Behind those wires, Hemi Orange valve covers perfectly contrast correctly restored exhaust manifolds. Cooling is supplied by a big, Chrysler-branded radiator, which utilizes pliable hoses and simple squeeze clamps to send water past fresh V-belts and rebuilt engine accessories. Power is provided by a reproduction Mopar red cap, which is wired to a correct Chrysler voltage regulator. Aesthetically, the entire engine bay looks spectacular, from its correct decals and Plum Crazy fenders to its old school fluid reservoir and correct dual horns. And functionally, a quick turn of this Plymouth's ignition results in a rumbling, high-performance idle, hot or cold. Park this 'Cuda on a lift and you'll find a solid chassis that's no stranger to real miles and good times. At the center of the car's floors, a tough A833 4-speed applies power to a rugged Dana 60 rear end that spins a posi-traction differential around friendly 3.54 gears. Below that proven drivetrain, a heavy duty Hemi suspension has been completely rebuilt to include correct power front disc and rear drum brakes. Steering is completely manual, providing the driver unique, vintage feedback. Exhaust is handled by 2.5-inch, free-flowing tail pipes that jettison cooked dinosaurs through familiar Flowmaster mufflers and correct stainless tips. Power flows to the pavement via Chrysler Rallye wheels, which spin authentic looking F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around stainless trim rings and silver center caps. And naturally, the car's clean, fully sorted undercarriage is rounded out by fresh stainless fluid lines and a new stainless fuel tank. Swivel this Plymouth's doors and you'll find a correct vinyl interior that's functional, straightforward and very livable. The front bucket and rear bench seats are wrapped in correct white covers that display hardly any signs of wear. Below those seats, stain-free carpet centers heavy duty, "'Cuda" branded floor mats on a Hurst pistol grip shifter. At the sides of that carpet, white door panels proudly hang the Cuda name above traditional cranks, integrated handles and small chrome locks. In front of those panels, a "Barracuda" branded dash props standard Chrysler gauges above a vintage AM/FM radio. Above that dash, a tight white headliner frames factory-correct shoulder belts. In front of the driver, an attractive Chrysler Tuff Wheel mixes subtle form with major function. And behind the passengers, a nicely finished trunk centers a correct jack and new space saver spare between a correct mat and new decklid decal. As previously mentioned, the sale of this awesome E-Body includes substantial provenance.
