[email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1959 Nash Rambler American Frame Up Built Rambler American Wagon 347 V8 C4 Heidts Power Discs Vintage A/C Year: 1959 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: White Mileage: 3805 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 347 V8 Interior color: Red Vehicle Info Until recently, many people believed America couldn't build a decent small car. But, like most anti-Detroit rhetoric, that mindset was perpetuated by folks who really didn't know what they were talking about. As early as 1950, AMC president George Mason believed small cars had a real future on U.S. roadways. And, when the recession hit in 1958, the company's management decided it would be an ideal time to perfect their Rambler American series. Fast forward 56 years and this professionally restored resto-mod is certainly some of the coolest metal to ever roll down an assembly line. Thanks to its remarkable combination of Ford power and simplistic style, the car sits at the pinnacle of unique. And, if you're a cultured enthusiast who's looking for exclusive, historically significant iron, it's the chrome-clad masterpiece of your dreams! Loosely based on Nash Motor's Nash Rambler, the Rambler American was introduced as an entry point to the brand's more profitable senior models. The GM PPG White example you see here is a rust-free California car that was stripped all the way to bare metal during a professional restoration that was conducted by CAM Auto Creations of Phoenix, Arizona. Its classy, curvaceous body reflects a smooth two-stage finish that exhibits minimal signs of wear and no major defects. $5K worth of re-chromed and polished trim looks every bit as good as the day it left the showroom. And, despite what some might call awkward proportions, this graceful classic is both striking and handsome! As a vintage car connoisseur, you simply can't go wrong with '50s-era steel. Take a look at this gorgeous wagon and you'll see detailing that walks a fine aesthetic line between the hand-crafted feel of its '40s ancestors and the radical, sometimes cheeky appearance of its '60s offspring. At the front of the car, an American-exclusive grille centers a racy "R" emblem between visored headlamps, small parking lights and a wraparound bumper that's complete with modern driving lamps. At the sides of that grille, a pinstriped fuselage flows through classy "American" scripts, unique door handles and a chrome, "R" branded fuel filler. At the top of that fuselage, a curved windshield and fresh greenhouse back a cool hood fin, a standard mirror and straight stainless frames. And behind that greenhouse, a "Rambler" branded tailgate anchors chrome hatch hardware between inverted tail lights, a second wraparound bumper and large, stainless exhaust tips. Toss this classic's domed hood and you'll find 347 cubic inches of stout Ford V8 that produces roughly 250 horsepower. At the top of that bright orange mill, a polished air cleaner marries wind with fuel supplied by a small Motorcraft carburetor. That air/fuel mixture makes its way from a cast iron intake to cast iron heads, which hide under attractive, polished valve covers. When those heads flood the cylinders, a Flame-Thrower coil and proven Painless wiring sequence fire through a traditional points distributor and 7mm High Temperature Conductive Silicone Core cables. As combustion is sparked, resultant gases are jettisoned through compact, cast iron exhaust manifolds. And that combustion's cooling is provided by a beefy aluminum radiator, which stores water in front of large-diameter puller fans and a March serpentine system. As with any expertly built custom, the car's clean engine bay is fully detailed and ready for show. And it all adds up to one super sweet small block that looks right at home centered between a fully finished hood and body-matched fenders. Naturally, this American's fully-finished body rides on a fully-restored chassis that's been assembled to exacting standards. The smooth small block torques a tough C4 3-speed, which spins a familiar Ford 8-inch. That proven drivetrain pushes a 1.5-inch lowered suspension, which tracks a high quality Heidts Mustang II front-half with custom leaf springs. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to power-assisted discs and drums. At the center of the floor, 2.5-inch true-dual exhaust breathes through aluminized pipes and throaty Magnaflow mufflers. At the corners of the chassis, painted steelies turn 215/70R15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around polished trim rings and red-detailed center caps. And everything, from the car's hidden brake booster to its undercoated floors is well-planned, well executed and ready to work its magic! The spectacular cockpits in '50s-era Detroit iron need no introduction, but here goes. Flip this Rambler's bright chrome handles and you'll find a classy, Dynamat-lined interior that stays completely true to the car's tasteful detailing. Rebuilt bench seats are all-day comfortable and feature supple hides that fit well and feel great. Beneath those seats, soft carpet frames billet foot pedals next to clean kick panels and textured sills. At the edges of that carpet, flawless door skins anchor small black armrests between body-matched toppers and correct chrome hardware. At the front of those skins, a curved dash is layered in glossy paint, correct telemetry and controls for Vintage Air conditioning. Above that dash, a correct headliner frames controls for Custom Autosound acoustics. The driver spins a black steering wheel around a chrome horn ring, an "R" branded centerpiece and a polished gear selector. And passengers store their essentials in a freshly finished cargo hold that features era-correct luggage. Combining a high quality restoration with acute attention to detail, this incredible wagon is some of the best metal your money can buy! Add in the car's smooth drivetrain and instant 'wow' factor, and it's virtually guaranteed to win both trophies and fans. We all know it's becoming increasingly tough to find unique, highly exclusive classics. Don't miss your chance to own one of the coolest Ramblers ever restored! Up for sale today is an amazingly solid 1951 Nash Rambler Convertible that I bought as a complete car in Northern California over 20 years ago from the Original Owner. I knew that some day, I would give it a complete Nut and Bolt Rotisserie Restoration so I started to gather up as many NOS parts as I possibly could find in order to speed up the eventual restoration. Condition wise, the Nash had all original paint with no dings, dents or damage in any way. It did have slight surface rust on the top of the hood and deck lid but other than that, the body was totally mint. There was no rust or rot anywhere on the car but the floor pans had only a few tiny pin holes in them which has now been corrected - read on about that. Before I go much further, I would like to tell you a little about my hobby side. I am an avid automobile restorer and collector with many cars in my collection, some restored and others which are mint, untouched originals. I am actively involved in the AACA, CCCA, and many other automobile organizations. I, myself, have painstakingly restored many other cars such as a 1927 Cadillac, GM Cars and Trucks from the 50's, 60's GM Muscle Cars as well as Nash and VW cars to Concours Quality, winning numerous Best of Show Awards throughout the country. Needless to say, I have many years of Classic Car experience, understand the importance of correctness, laser straight fit and finish of body panels as well as proper chrome plating, metal polishing, tailored upholstery of the highest quality and on and on. In 1997, I decided to use an accredited, highly acclaimed restoration shop for the restoration instead of handling it myself as I had with all others. After careful research and viewing their facility as well as finished projects, I gave the car to Harbor Restorations, located at that time in Pompano Beach, FL to begin the restoration project. The entire car was photographed with highly detailed pictures before a single bolt was removed. Then the car was completely disassembled with each part carefully tagged and all nuts and bolts properly bagged and labeled. On my own, I had the original numbers matching engine completely rebuilt with new rings, bearings, pistons, etc. The body which already had mint, pit free sheet metal including fenders and hood and their backsides, was all sent out to be chemically stripped. Once returned to the shop, it was then returned to the shop and was completely sprayed with an Epoxy Primer. The body and all associated sheet metal including the trunk floor was so mint that saving the original floors wasn't the best choice so we decided to carefully remove the old floor along the factory spot welds as it was originally installed. An exact copy was made using an English Wheel and other metal forming tools which was then installed in the car. The new welds were filed down and smoothed out and now, they look better than the sloppy way they left the factory. Restoration cost so far, paid to Harbor was in excess of $17,000 at this point. After receiving my last 2 invoices from Harbor and suspecting false billing as well as foul play, I decided to personally deliver the checks each week instead of mailing them and to prove my hunch was correct, they had been padding the bill and fabricated hours as well as charging for work they never did and materials they never used. This did not surprise me because I had heard that Harbor overcharged other customers in this way. I made it very clear to the owner that if he wasn't extra careful, accurate and honest with the way he billed me, I would pull the car from his shop. After receiving a very non-genuine apology, I was left with a very uncomfortable feeling in my "sit down area" so I decided to put a stop to this BS and pulled the car from their shop. Conveniently, they claimed to have lost my NOS Factory Original Assembly Manual and all the photographs taken before and during the restoration as well as several NOS parts I had left with them. I have since replaced the NOS Parts, the Manual and fortunately, have saved copies of all the photos. The car was then returned to my shop and has remained in storage ever since - indoors, of course. Besides block sanding and general body preparation, upholstery, metal polishing, chrome plating and detail work, this car is totally complete and will go back together quite easily. All hard to find parts are there including tiny clips, hardware with notations and pictures of where they go. I even have the ultra rare convertible top motor which most Nash Ramblers are missing. The only 2 items I have not purchased are the correct original wiring harness which is available from Rhode Island Wiring in the exact cloth covering as used from the factory. I have saved the original wiring and it can be used as a guide to install the new harness. The other item is new side window glass which is easily available from a company that I do business with. They reproduce window glass and even add the factory acid etched date codes and manufacturers logo if requested. I have the original glass which can be used as is or as a template. The front window glass is available from most glass shops. I have the original front glass which is in excellent shape and may be polished instead of replaced. From this point, all the hard work has been finished and will be an easy car to finish. I have other issues in my life to deal with at this point and don't see any time in the near future when I will resume this project. I am not selling this car because I need the money but I would like to see someone finish the project and give the car the glory that a car like this deserves. I am available to answer any question you may have. Purchase Price: $13,500 and well worth it. Thanks for your interest.

Bill of sale only. Mostly complete with mostly great glass, nice bumpers, all stainless & includes flying lady hood ornament. ODO shows 58,889 and is probably correct. The car sat in a field for 30+ years so the floors are shot but very little beyond surface rust on the body. Big dent on the left front fender and a small crease on the left quarter panel. Very straight doors as this was a rural car so very little parking lot exposure. I have a file full of info I've gathered on the car. Very rare car. Very few with Auto & A/C. This is a very rare car. A/C became available in Ramblers in 1954 due to their acquiring Kelvinator ( I believe) in '53. Only high end cars like Caddies and Chryslers had A/C in '55. Chevy didn't even offer A/C until '56. I've been watching ebay for a year and have only seen 3 other 55 Rambler wagons with this equipment. Mine is thousands cheaper. I would love to redo the car but already have more than I can handle. I really just saw an opportunity to save this one from oblivion. I would like to see it go to someone who appreciates its unique character as much as I do. Damaged or missing: Upholstery is completely shot. A full set of NOS replacement seat covers go with the car. Floor pans are gone. Front pass window is cracked. Rest are good. I removed the loose stainless but it should be all there. Missing complete left suspension. Missing both front brake drums. Have 3 rare full coverage hubcaps. Missing A/C compressor. Fuel tank is rusted away. Very minor rust in the rockers. Haven't tried to turn the 196 flat head 6 cyl. Bound to be full of acorns ,etc from the mice. No air cleaner. Many more pix available on request.

You are bidding on a 1965 Rambler 550 Classic 2 door sedan. The body is solid, with the exception of the floor pans.. See pictures. I just bought this car with the intention of making a driver, but decided that 6 cars are enough. The motor runs good. The trans shifts as it should. The seats have been reupholstered, the door panels, dash, and headliner are all in very good condition and are original pieces. The trunk is solid. It has good glass, manual drum brakes, and power steering. This is one of 7082 Classic 550 2 door sedans built in 1965. Please call Richard with any questions @ 856-305-7789 cell, or 856-692-8714 house. This car is for sale locally, therefore I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. But, when the GTO officially kicked off the muscle car wars, it wasn't GM's impressive engineering prowess or Pontiac's hard-fought performance image that turned the car into a legend. It was the opportunity for any customer to walk in to the showroom, buy a small platform with a big engine, and, with the flip of a checkbook, deck it out with some major performance hardware. It's hard to think of any GTO that embodies that 'build-to-suit' mindset better than this professionally tweaked drop-top. With a massaged big block, a tough Muncie 4-speed and head-turning aesthetics, it's the perfect cruiser for any muscle car enthusiast who wants to prowl the show field and burn up the streets! BODYWORK/TRIM While this real-deal GTO's classic good looks originated in the mind of engineer John Z. DeLorean, it was the professionals at Tony's Muscle Cars of Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania that ensured its present appearance is top-notch in virtually ever way. Back in 1999, a meticulous mechanic, who remains friends with the car's current owner, orchestrated a body-off, rotisserie restoration that dressed original sheetmetal and original floorpans in a roster of NOS componentry. Fast forward to late 2015, when the crew at Tony's thoroughly freshened that reboot and added rich Burgundy 2-stage that perfectly contrasts the car's clean white top. And today, this razor-sharp Poncho is a first class head turner that's solid, composed and ready for prime time! ENGINE Peek under the fully functional hood and you'll find a '72-spec 455 that was completely rebuilt by the pros at Jim Taylor Engine Service of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. At the top of that Turquoise mill, a Ram Air IV Quadrajet bridges the gap between stainless fuel lines, a date-correct air cleaner and a port-matched Ram Air IV intake. That air/fuel mixture floods '69 Ram Air IV heads, which hide Manley valves, Comp springs, Comp roller rockers and Crane chromoly pushrods under polished covers. That valvetrain is propelled by a balanced rotating assembly, which spins TRW pistons between Clevite bearings, a Crane cam and high quality Melling lifters. That assembly gets sparked by MSD 6AL ignition, which sequences fire through a traditional points distributor and Packard TV R Suppression cables. Below those cables, jet-coated '69 Ram Air IV exhaust manifolds make quick work of spent gases. At the front of those manifolds, old school pulleys spin a rebuilt alternator and factory power steering in front of Edelbrock timing components. And a fresh brake booster, a factory-spec radiator and a familiar Melling oil pump keep the fluids flowing. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Logging few miles since the car's freshening, this goat's fully restored undercarriage is completely free of significant issues and major defects. The stout big block commands a tough Muncie 4-speed with the help of a beefy Hayes clutch. That proven gearbox grinds power to a rebuilt GM 10-bolt, which spins a posi-trac differential around friendly 3.36 gears. That drivetrain rides in a familiar F41 Sports Suspension. At the corners of that suspension, power-assisted calipers clamp drilled and slotted rotors. A custom, true-dual exhaust system connects the car's coated manifolds with welded, dual-chamber mufflers and polished stainless tips. And a quartet of U.S. Mags Ramblers spins 245/45ZR17 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 285/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs. This recipient of a 2014 $30,000 restoration is the truly classic American collector’s find! Finished in it’s correct Artesian blue paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Inside, the white vinyl seats all look great with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels are finished to match the seats and dashboard are matched to mirror the exterior of the car and all look fantastic. Paint and body are displayed well with minimal paint issues and no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. The Chevrolet Corvair is a compact automobile manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet for model year 1960–1969 over two generations. As the only American-designed, mass produced passenger car to feature a rear mounted air-cooled engine, the Corvair range included a two-door coupe, convertible, four-door sedan, and four-door station wagon body styles, as well as passenger van, commercial van, and pickup truck variants. The Corvair competed with imported cars such as the original Volkswagen Beetle, as well as the Falcon, Plymouth, Studebaker Lark and the Rambler American. New refinements appeared on the 1965 redesign. The Corsa came standard with an instrument panel featuring a 140 mph speedometer with resettable trip odometer, a 6,000 rpm tachometer (slightly off on rpms), cylinder head temperature gauge, analog clock with a sweeping second hand, a manifold vacuum/pressure gauge and fuel gauge. A much better heater system, larger brakes borrowed from the Chevelle, a stronger differential ring gear, a Delcotron alternator (replacing the generator), and significant chassis refinements were made. AM/FM stereo radio, in-dash All Weather Air Conditioning, telescopically adjustable steering column, and a Special Purpose Chassis Equipment (“Z17”) handling package, consisting of a special performance suspension and quick ratio steering box, were significant new options for 1965. This true example of a Corsa Corvair is equipped with a 4 carburetor “Turbo-Air 164” 2.7L 140hp flat 6 cylinder (matching numbers) engine coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission, dual exhaust, larger brakes, 140mph speedometer, Notebook containg everything from the original delivery date at the dealership to restoration receipts, original owners manual and spare set of keys. These series II Corvairs are becoming increasingly hard to find in such solid well kept condition. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Current mileage on the odometer shows 57,495, it is sold as is and is mileage exempt. The car is being sold on a clean & clear title. Warranty ALL SALES ARE FINAL WITH CAR BEING SOLD WHERE IS, AS IS! The vehicle is offered with a right to a personal inspection by any bidder or agent of any bidder. The vehicle is available for inspection prior to bidding. If you are the high bidder and unable to inspect said vehicle before auction close, you or an agent will have (7) days to inspect said vehicle after the close of auction. I encourage a physical inspection strongly to avoid any misunderstandings or representations. All used vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. No vehicle is perfect to everyone. Each vehicle has its strengths, styles, tendencies and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle’s mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or previous owner’s diligence in care. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold ”WHERE/IS, AS/IS”. We have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of our ability. However, with all classic and exotic vehicles, the condition is subjective. Please be advised that no oral or written statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of the condition of the said vehicle. INDUSTRY UNIQUE RETURN POLICY: If for any reason you receive your vehicle and have buyer’s remorse, are not happy with the vehicle or just don’t want it for any reason we will purchase the car back from you. We must be notified in writing of your decision to return the vehicle within seven (7) days of your receipt of said vehicle. The vehicle may not have more than 75 additional miles on the odometer from the time it left our possession and be returned in the same condition that it left. You WILL be responsible for a restocking fee that will equal 20% of the purchase price of the vehicle, no exceptions. You will also be responsible for shipping the vehicle back to our shop at your expense. Copyright © 1999-2015 MotoeXotica. All Rights Reserved.
