I am selling my Numbers Matching 69 Nova SS 396 375hp Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4 Speed. It is beautiful Lemans Blue with Black Interior. I have had it for many years it’s time to let it go. It has been painted and it has the Z-J-1 Custom interior package with bucket seats without console. The engine and Trans has been rebuilt to factory specs with all quality parts they have about 12,500 miles on them and it runs like a BLUE STREAK. It has headers on it and a 3 inch exhaust it really sounds good. If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 586-566-3374 or my cell 248-330-0683 please no texting. I have two partial build sheets they do not show the engine or Trans, rats chewed the ends off them. It shows the dual exhaust and the color of the outside and the interior, and the AM FM stereo (BLUE LIGHT) radio that works. There was only about 300 Novas that had the AM FM stereo radio. I am really amazed that it still has the original engine and Trans most were blown up. The rear end is a 12 bolt as all big block cars were. It was 355 gears it now has a 373, and it has tinted windows rare for a car without air conditioning. I know everybody wants paperwork and I do have the two partial build sheets, plus we have researched the history on my car back to the original owner, yes that’s right the original owner that bought it new off the showroom floor at Applegate Chevy in Flint Michigan. How often do you see that. I will need a deposit of $2,000 with in 24 hours after the sale.

That mill was certainly a hit, as a little over 5,400 of the red-hot bowties were ordered. But, unfortunately, most were purchased strictly for the quarter mile, which means, thanks to the law of attrition, finding an authentic L79 Nova is becoming increasingly difficult. Well, as you know, your friends at RK Motors Charlotte take pride in specializing in rare and hard to find classics. And that's why we're proud to feature this fully documented, registry-listed L79 Nova. Wrapping a numbers-matching drivetrain in correct Marina Blue on Black aesthetics, this highly original wonder transforms the phrase "investment grade compact" from oxymoron into fact! BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a partial restoration that was conducted in the mid '90s, this Nova is a sharp weekend cruiser that currently presents much better than original factory fodder. During the car's precise reboot, solid sheetmetal was completely striped of its dull, original pigment. With that shell removed, and its foundation massaged into great alignment, correct Marina Blue base was sealed in mirror-like clear. And today, one close look at our high-resolution pictures reveals a handsome payoff in the form of one slick Chevrolet muscle car! The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are early '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. Savvy collectors will quickly locate the original 327's correct 3791362 casting number, correct "ZI" suffix stamp and matching partial VIN. Casual observers will be quick to notice the mill's L79-exclusive polished, twin-snorkel air cleaner. And everyone will start to vibe when air and fuel flow from a big Holley carburetor in to a hot Winters intake that's framed by high-flow cylinder heads! That air/fuel mixture meets spark thanks to Packard TV R Suppression Cables, which crawl around polished valve covers on their way to a correct points distributor. Spent gases fall in to old school cast iron exhaust manifolds. There's a tagged radiator that joins a rebuilt alternator, a rebuilt master cylinder and a reproduction Delco battery to round out the car's first-rate ancillaries. And, when it comes to keeping up appearances, the entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange block to its Satin Black fenders, is clean, attractive and ready to roll! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION One look under this sturdy compact reveals a solid chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power flows through an original Muncie 4-speed, which hangs a Muncie (P) assembled on March (03) 18th (18) 1966 build stamp behind a correct 3885010 casting number. That transmission twists a correct 12-bolt axle. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and leaf spring rear suspension. Stops come courtesy of manual drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned manifolds to modern, aluminized pipes, which precede DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers with an H-shaped crossover. The body's unrestored floors wear a thick layer of original undercoating. And all that old school Americana rolls on traditional Chevrolet Rallies, which spin F70-14 Firestone redlines around polished trim rings and low profile center caps. INTERIOR Regardless of what motor made its way in to the subframe, the Nova always stayed true to its simplistic roots. No place was that more evident than in the car's cockpit. An official member of the 836 cars assembled during the last model year of the original Skylark, this investment grade drop-top is one of the rarest and most desirable '50s collector cars ever produced. HISTORY/CREATION Introduced as a celebration of Buick's 50th anniversary, the 1953 Skylark was one of three specialty convertibles created to promote General Motors' leadership in design and innovation. Like its Fiesta and Eldorado stablemates, the big Buick was a limited-production, hand-made halo that was overwhelmingly admired by the public and rewarded with a very successful sales rate. For the 1954 model year, the marque transitioned to a Century-based replacement that, despite complementing the car's handsome looks with mass-production refinement, was not as well accepted. And by the end of the sales year, sentiment was low, numbers were low and GM decided to pull the plug on the tri-shield division's once celebrated line-topper. Today, roughly 60 years later, the car's world-class design characteristics can be found in pretty much every modern automaker's aesthetic DNA. And its unique blend of optimistic swagger and unmatched exclusivity make it one of the most coveted classics on the planet. BODYWORK/TRIM The beneficiary of a thorough, frame-off restoration that was completed sometime around 2009, this killer drop-top is one of the coolest Buicks we've ever seen! The restorers began by stripping the car's smooth, Harley Earl-designed body all the way to bare metal. When that heavy cleaning was complete, solid panels were assembled into a clean profile that presents largely blemish-free surfaces. After that thorough test fitting, a silky coat of correct Arctic White paint was capped with correct Black vinyl and teased to a glossy, show-stopping shine. And today, this Skylark's prestigious appearance is a lust worthy representation of one of America's most glorious eras of motoring. ENGINE Lift the car's 'alligator hood' and you'll find a 322 cubic inch Fireball V8 that props a correct Roadmaster assembly stamp in front of a correct 1165165 casting number. Nicknamed the "Nail valve", and eventually known as the "Nailhead", this fully detailed mill employs greater lift and better duration to create a Kansas-flat power band. Funny thing is: hot rodders of the day actually coined the engine's nickname as a derisive description of its puny valvetrain and restrictive plumbing, but they certainly couldn't ignore its stellar power! The proven block has undoubtedly been rebuilt, and probably looks much better today than when it growled off the assembly line. Aesthetically, the mill, which perches a massive air cleaner and big, 4-barrel carburetor above factory heads, has been painted a traditional green hue. There are many fresh pieces like pliable belts, an old school generator and proven Belden ignition cables. A glossy firewall meets satin fenders to frame those pieces in a construct of distinctly American curves. And overall, the engine seems clean, simple and highly functional. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION While the '53 Skylark was essentially a fully optioned, slightly customized Roadmaster, GM decided to build the '54 model on Buick's shorter Century/Special chassis. This certainly wasn't a popular decision at the time, but it definitely benefits the car today as more precise build techniques and better commonality make restoration and maintenance much easier. The basis for this drop-top's solidity is an industrial strength frame that's married to a correctly restored suspension. At the center of that suspension, a new-for-1953 Twin Turbine Dynaflow 2-speed twists power to a factory rear end. At the edges of that drivetrain, Dynaflow-mandated power drum brakes initiate quick, drama-free stops. Turns come courtesy of Dynaflow-mandated power steering. A single-pipe exhaust system makes good use of a factory replacement muffler. Everything rolls on familiar Kelsey-Hayes wires, which spin 7.60-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around "SKYLARK" branded center caps. And, with a fully sorted, red-tinged undercarriage that's ready to hit the road, this big cruiser would be right at home chauffeuring the family to their favorite dinner spot. INTERIOR Loaded with virtually every option in the book, this classic Buick's correct Matador Red interior features a perfect mix of outrageous style and traditional American luxury. The big bench seats, 4-way adjustable up front, are stuffed with fresh Foamtex padding, covered in correct block-embossed leather and trimmed in pristine stainless brightwork. In front of those seats, a Carlsbad Black dash hangs chrome-trimmed gauges behind an electric clock, a Selectronic radio and a factory heater. At the base of that dash, high quality carpet frames matched Buick mats and slick Skylark sills. At the sides of that carpet, chrome-trimmed door panels found small power window switches between bright stainless toppers and correct chrome handles. In front of the driver, a flexible-spoke steering wheel spins a full horn ring around an ornate centerpiece. Behind the passengers, a lighted trunk hides a fifth Kelsey-Hayes wheel inside a fifth whitewall tire. And, based on a thorough visual inspection, the car's cockpit appears exceptionally restored, all the way from its glare-proof mirror to its snug-fitting convertible cowl. Spent gases funnel into correct, cast iron exhaust manifolds which, thanks to true-dual pipes, create a nice deep roar. That roar is the product of sparks sequenced from a familiar points distributor and fresh Packard Radio TVRS wires. Those sparks are generated by pliable V-belts, which spin a marked alternator behind a shrouded fan, "GM" branded hoses and a factory-correct radiator that very well could be the original. And the entire engine compartment, from its Chevy Orange paint and reproduction Delco battery to its Satin Black fenders and correctly decaled valve covers, is clean, detailed and ready to show! One look under this sturdy compact reveals a solid chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power flows through an era-correct Muncie 4-speed and original GM 12-bolt that wears a 3852980N casting number beside a November (L) 18th (18), 1965 (5) casting date. That pumpkin spins a correct posi-traction differential and correct 3.31 gears. Holding that virtually unbreakable drivetrain off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and leaf spring rear suspension. Stops come courtesy of manual drum brakes. Exhaust flows from the aforementioned pipes to big, factory replacement mufflers and well-hidden turn downs. The body's rust-free floors are layered in bright Red Oxide, which was bestowed during their detailed restoration. The rugged chassis and fully sorted driveline display a full roster of accurately duplicated inspection marks. And all this old school Americana rolls on 14-inch steelies which spin 6.95-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around Super Sport-specific wheel covers. Regardless of what motor made its way into the subframe, the Nova always stayed true to its economical roots. No place was that more evident than the interior. The inside of this '66 SS stays true to that formula with only the bare essentials in place. Seating is provided by nicely recovered buckets. From the driver's seat, a showroom quality dashboard places nothing more than a speedometer and fuel gauge in the cluster. The restorer chose not to add an aftermarket tachometer or any other gauge to the keep the interior as authentic looking as possible. At either side of the cluster, there are controls for items like the ventilation system, push button AM radio and lights. An authentic Nova Super Sport steering wheel with a red, white and blue Chevrolet horn button tops a lockable steering column.
