Owned by just one person for the past 21 years, this car has been garage stored and babied and shows it! The bright Rangoon Red factory Ford color is correct to what the car was born with, but had been redone in the early 90’s. It still looks glossy, slick, and wet, and shows no more blemishes and signs of use than your average two year old car at the local dealers lot does! The car has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and stored indoors under a top quality car cover which is included. This has kept the car looking fantastic, with just the normal small scuffs, stone chips, and typical “regular use” light blemishes you would see on any car of this caliber and investment range. I have taken a 4x4 felt covered magnet over the entire painted surface of the car and it sticks like glue, as there is NO sign of any bondo or patch panels, and no sign of chicken wire or beer cans either. Just good old FORD factory steel, with solid seams at the rockers, correct rolls in the fenders, and no rot to be found. It is a super clean and straight body, with exceptionally nice gaps and panel fit. Trim and bright work on the car is original, and is in good condition all the way around. A weekend with some Mother’s polish and you can make it look even better than it does. Emblems and badging are in very good original condition. Chrome bumpers front and rear are original, look incredible, and are the kind of clean, straight pieces you just can’t get in a reproduction. Hubcaps are original, and show age and signs of use. They are mounted on original steel rims with black paint that has chipped in spots. All the wheels show good for driving and enjoying the car, but if you want to make it more of a full SHOW car, you’ll want to clean them up and paint the rims again. Tires are recent BFGOODRICH Radial T/A’s, and are sized P205/70R14. They have at least 70% of the useable tread remaining, and do not need replaced at this time. Glass on the car is in very good condition, with just light marks, if anything, to be found. There is no sign of laminate issues, and there are no cracks or splits in the glass. Rubber seals and weather stripping looks great, and the only sign of brittle rubber on the car is the vent window trim, which is original and has not been replaced in 51 years! It is still serviceable, but not up to scale with the rest of the clean, more recent rubber. The convertible top was replaced not too long ago, and it still shows wonderfully today! Keep in mind, this car has NOT been detailed, so some of the little water spots and things on the top should simply clean up when you prepare the car for its first show. There are no known rips, tears, or seam pulls, and the plastic rear window is fog free, and undamaged. The power top works just like it should, and goes up or down in a matter of seconds with the touch of the dash mounted switch. Latches seal it up tight, and I have had the pleasure of driving the car in a typical Florida torrential downpour, and it was leak and issue free for me. The tonneau was new with the top, and it fastens and sits just as it should, with all snaps intact and functional. It is clean, neat, and ready to show. Overall, the outside of this car is in 8.5 out of 10 condition, and when you take the time to detail it from stem to stern, it will show even nicer. Pop open the hood, and you are met with the cars original 260 V8 CHALLENGER motor that it was born with. The engine has been rigorously maintained over the years, with constant oil changes, preventative maintenance, and many OEM replacement parts installed to make sure it was reliable and ready to go. Recent upgrades on the car include the fuel pump, fuel lines, rotor, distributor, plugs, plug wires, carb cleaning, new fuel sending unit, water pump, battery, and a fully re-cored and pressure tested radiator. It starts easily, idles cleanly, and is ready to go at a moment’s notice. Snick the cars original 3-speed transmission into gear, ease out the clutch, and the 260 gives you power on demand at any throttle position! You can easily spin the tires if you want to, or let the power build through each shift until you are exceeding the speed limit! Power is smooth and steady, and ready to help you pass, merge onto the interstate, or just pick on that kid in the Honda Civic at the red light. There is no stuttering, no backfires, no fuel loading or starvation issues, and it is about as perfectly tuned as you could ask for. Engine note is healthy and mellow, thanks to the custom installed Cherry Bomb style mufflers put on with the fresh exhaust system. The prior owner kept fuel logs, and noted that on the highway the car averages about 18mpg, while in town, it sits at about 15mpg. Pop the trunk, and you get an original and ultra-clean floor pan with no signs of rot, rust, or prior repair. It has some marks from being used as, well – A TRUNK, but still looks great! The full-size spare is correct to the car, but not a modern radial. There is a jack and lug wrench included, as well as the original trunk pan liner in the same plaid finish as the spare tire cover. The liner has seen better days and is included for originalities sake, but you will probably want to just order a new one. Trunk seal is recent, like 90% of the other rubber bits, and shows wonderfully. Underneath the car, the chassis is clean and original, and shows very well. Pans are original and have no sign of rust, rot, or damage. The entire brake system was replaced just a few years ago, and it was then switched over to a full silicone fluid system for safety. USE ONLY SILICONE FLUID IN THE CAR! Braking is spot on, and the car scrubs off speed without any odd pulling, wander, excess fade, or unusual modulation. Ride quality is great, with just enough give to make all-day cruising seem like a Sunday in your favorite chair, and a steadiness from the newer shocks and modern radials that lets you have fun carving through those rural twist’s too. All of the suspension components, seals, bushings, bearings, kingpins, and rods have been checked and appear to be as recent as the prior owners notes said they were. Tracking is straight and true, and the car has the perfect amount of steering wheel feedback, and no slop or sawing when you drive it. One hand on the wheel is all it takes when flying down the interstate, and the car will easily manage highway speeds without complaint. Overall, the mechanicals of this car are in exceptional condition, and after spending about 150 miles behind the wheel, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Speaking of driving it, most of your time is going to be spent in the interior, and it is VERY nice! Door panels are original, clean, and show normal signs of use and wear. Door pulls and window rollers are original, and show light patina and age but work perfectly. Dice toppers were added to the tops of the door locks to compliment the red and white color scheme. They look great, and work perfectly, and the doors lock with the included key. Kick panels and rear panels are original, and show typical signs of normal use. Rear ashtrays, emblems, badging, switches, and climate controls are all original, appear in average or above condition, and do what they should without issue. Rear view mirror and convertible top chrome trim panels are original, show patina and signs of age, but work perfectly. Carpet is in above average condition, looks amazing, and is damage free. Seats are in very good condition as well, with no rips or tears, and the split front bench folds like it should to allow passengers easy access to the rear seat. Original steering column is topped by the original wheel which shows light patina and age, but could easily be refinished if you wanted. The chrome horn button has light patina and is non-functional, and the shift arm and signal arms show light patina but work perfectly. Dash is original, and has no cracks or damage. Front dash panel silver section looks great, and the gauge housing holds fully functional gauges for FUEL, TEMP, SPEEDO, and ODMOMETER. Odometer shows 89,381 miles, and the prior owner said he believed it to be correct, but the State of Florida, as they usually do, automatically exempted the mileage on the title when they moved here and registered the cars. Headlights work, hi beam switch works, turn signals work, hazards work, and the wipers work. The climate system works as it should. The radio is inoperative, and is not hooked up. I do not know if it works or not, and the prior owner never had it work either. The 12V cigar lighter works, and the car has a functional ashtray and fully lined glove box too. The interior presents wonderfully, and the patina on the original items I mentioned really isn’t bad, especially if you are going to drive and enjoy the car. According to the HAGERTY VALUE TREND VEHICLE INDEX, the car is valued as follows, and has had a slow and steady value growth over the the past 5 year period. Condition #1 = $41,300.00 These vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best car, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the car has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 cars is "concours." Condition #2 = $28,700.00 These cars could win a local or regional show. They can be former #1 cars that have been driven or have aged. Seasoned observers will have to look closely for flaws, but will be able to find some not seen by the general public. The paint, chrome, glass and interior will all appear as excellent. No excessive smoke will be seen on startup, no unusual noises will emanate from the engine compartment. The vehicle will drive as a new car of its era would. The one word description for #2 cars is "excellent." Condition #3 = $20,300.00 Cars in this classification could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 car, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior. #3 cars drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These cars are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 car. Condition #4 = $13,500.00 These cars are daily drivers, with major flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the fender has a minor dent. The interior could have split seams or a cracked dash. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or the interior might not be stock. A #4 car can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 car. I have priced the car accordingly, and feel strongly that these affordable American Classic’s will continue the steady rise in value and investment return in the next 5 year cycle. In the area? HOWEVER, If you don't mind a little work, and if you want a well-built, proven and capable driver that is clean enough to take to the big shows, cool enough to take to the shadiest parts of town, and reliable enough to take anywhere, this is the one for you. This truck comes with a whole bunch of extras that the previous owner never got to install too, like a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX chrome steering column with tilt, BRAND NEW IN THE BOX Dakota digital gauge insert panel, and more! PLUS, you get touch up paint for both colors AND the paint codes to make more! The truck is a 5 footer, and when you are cruising it down the road, EVERYONE will check it out and give you a thumbs up! It shows glossy and slick like you see in the photos, and really looks good even right up close sans the blemishes I am about to cover. Up close, you WILL SEE FLAWS IN THE FINISH! It was done a few years ago, and has been driven and used, and has chips, tiny dings, a few scuffs, and some spots where prior repairs are showing. Worst of it is the driver side lower rocker where it has cracked and split, and the bottom rear of that door which has cracked as well, and has a small triangle that has chipped out. Drip rails have light signs of issues, but are solid metal underneath and on the lip. A magnet sticks to them all the way around and on the windshield header as well. Front fenders are really solid and nice. Roof is really solid and nice. Passenger door is really solid and nice. Bed and tail gate are really solid and nice, and has light fill around the wheel lips which is solid and clean looking. Chrome bumpers front and rear are in excellent condition. New tail lights are installed, and need wired. Headlamps are installed, and have loomed wiring in place, but a brand new set of Union Pacific LED headlamps are included as well! Chrome grill looks amazing, as do the mirrors on each side. Door handles are in great shape! Parking lamp bezels are new, and the wiper arms look like they might be too. Side trim is in fantastic condition, and has only a few minor marks. Emblems are in great condition. Black powder coated wheels are in excellent condition, and have new baby moon caps all around. They are wrapped in new American Classic white wall radials size P205/75R15 all the way around with less than 1,000 miles on them. Side glass and vent windows are crack and chip free, and looks original to the truck. Rear glass is crack and chip free, and has light markings on it from certain angles. Windshield is solid and clean, but does have three chips in it. Weather seals on the windshield and back window are in great condition, soft, and not damaged. The bed wood on the raised floor in the bed is purposefully aged, but is solid enough to stand and walk on without issue. Relocated fuel tank cover was hit with pool acid to age it a little too, as were the stainless bolts holding the stainless slats down. Pop open the hood and you see a clean, finished, and painted engine bay with normal signs of use. It is not perfect looking, but you can pop open the hood with pride at any car show. Chrome power brake booster looks great. A 355ci Chevy V8 is a mild build intended for daily driving and reliability. It will spin the rear tires if you want to, but is more suited for cruising. Black valve covers and air cleaner with the Chevrolet logo in red look good, as does the chrome alternator. Hoses and lines are clean, and mostly new in appearance. Wiring is clean and neat and carefully loomed. Radiator is a NOS replacement with hi-flow water pump and big shroud to keep things cool on hot days. A 350 Turbo transmission is a stock build, and shifts smooth and clean through all gears. Power steering makes it easy for anyone to drive! The tire clear the fenders all the way to the ground too. Front DISC/Rear DRUM brakes stop the truck easily, and were recent additions. Chassis is painted black, and is not show quality or anything. Just functional. C-Notch looks good, and the truck has airbags on each corner, with shocks that were selected for the drop to give good ride quality at any height. You cannot drive it in the all the way down position. You have to bring it up about 1.75 inches higher than the ground to drive safely. The air ride system has a compressor on its own switch that you turn on under the dash. It fills in about 50 seconds, and the truck is ready to go up or down with ease. Dash mounted switchgear provides front up/down and rear/up down. What more do you need? It goes from the ground to full up position in about 1.5 seconds, and drops in about 2. It is fast. Nice when you hit a red light because you can slam it on the ground and air it back up in an instant. Bags stay inflated, and I parked it with them fully inflated overnight, and they were fully inflated the next morning. No listing or awkwardness, just full front up and down, and full rear up and down. Underside is clean and free of thick goopy cover up spray most people use, so you can see the new parts on the suspension and body mounts and stuff. Bed floor was hacked up to make room for the notch, and the wood raised floor over it is solid enough to hold my 260 lbs without issue. It might not be pretty, but it is safe and functional. Interior was started and is not far from completion, plus, most of the big stuff comes with it! Red and white vintage style upholstery on the seats and door panels is free from rips, tears, seam pulls and damage. It is DIRTY from being driven and used, but it will clean up. We do not do full details on our cars so you can see how they came. I took a damp towel to the side of the seat where it is white, and it cleaned right up as you can see in the pics. A little elbow grease and time and you will be Aces and Eights. Driver side has good looking and function door pull and window roller, and the driver side were removed to be replaced, but lost. It now has a multi-function vice grip in place to use on each of the driver functions. You can grab new ones from 100 places online for cheap. Carpet was newly installed, and is clean, stain, and tear free. It is NOS style from LMC. It is held down on each side by bright and shiny sill plates. Stock style brake and gas pedals. 1980 style GM tilt column is clean, and has function tilt. It has an S10 style steering wheel that looks great and has no issues. A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX Pro-Comp chrome steering wheel is included and is ready for you to install. Dash top is clean and undamaged. Dash front is clean, and has a functional glove box, cut out where the modern style radio was planned to go, and cut outs for A/C vents that were planned as well. Dual 12V outlets are in place. Headlight and wiper switches are in stock location. wipers do not work and are not wired, and the headlamps do not work as they are not wired yet either. A set of brand new headlights is included as well. Gauge cluster in the truck is decent looking, and would just need hooked up I guess, but the prior owner included a BRAND NEW DAKOTA DIGITAL CLUSTER he was going to customize it with, using a solid panel of steel as a backing and all of the brand new senders that are included too. Interior roof and back are painted in red, and there are no upholstered kick panels or anything included. Dome light cover is missing. Not much left to do on the interior, and you can drive and enjoy it while you finish it up to your taste. Inner doors, inner rockers, hinge area, and door surrounds are all clean and solid, and the doors shut clean and easy and seal up good thanks to newer weather stripping on both sides. It starts easily, idles cleanly, does not smoke, and has left only the tiniest dip of oil from the pan on the shop floor since I got it. I have driven it about 30 miles, and it is a killer around town cruiser that will give you the confidence to drive it anywhere. If you want a freeway flyer, you will need a gear change, as the GM 10 bolt feels like it has 3.73 gears or so in it, and prefers to hang out at 55mph, not 75. It handles great, and I have driven it at speed in the normal ride height, and full up with equal success and no issues. Ride is just a lot better aired down a little. Braking is solid and sure, and after 10 minutes behind the wheel, you will almost forget you are driving a bagged truck. Not sure what else to tell you. I’ve seen recently that they make a super-deluxe ventilated chicken coop when the Terminix® contract is up, the wheels and glass are shot out into the weeds, frame down to the ground and only the glovebox will hold a day’s fresh eggs, because the rest fall past the upholstery carcass through floors of swiss cheese to the fox. Mae West opined, a woman should cultivate her curves, “They may look dangerous, but they’ll be impossible to avoid.” This Station Sedan has become again a compelling feast for the eyes, making a Vargas pin-up break from the wooden fruit crate box utility that defined wagon design since the drawl of a horse. All Packards are famous for being a sight to behold. This car is no exception, possessing an organic shape that is as much a piece of minimalist sculpture as it is a sumptuous way to get from here to there. WOOD: About 2/3 of the original honey-toned wood was preserved with a few unsalvageable pieces used for templates blended in new maple. Stripped, sanded, stained and then finished with 15 coats of marine-grade polyurethane by San Diego woodie expert, Bowden Auto Body, Escondido, CA. All refinished sections were reinstalled as factory fit, with new 3M Di-Knoc used on the door panel and tailgate inserts. BODY & PAINT: Also at Bowden, all body panels were removed and completely disassembled for blasting, sanding, prime and paint, with new metal replaced only in a front floor section. Interior floor and door shells eventually coated in POR-15 and layered in sound dampener. Factory panel fit prevails with hardware, gasketing and seals as needed between all metal and wood. Oh, and Arizona Beige? It’s nothing but pure buttercream icing deep enough to slice. TRIM: All chrome and stainless ( except for dash components ) was removed and either re-chromed or polished by the best shop in Los Angeles, Van Nuys Plating, and it shows. All rubber seals around glass, windows, doors and vents were replaced using Steele Rubber products. The wood graining around the tin window trim was redone for all four doors and both rear compartment windows, six frames total. The dash is untouched, still lovely in it’s original wood grain and chrome jewelry. INTERIOR: A complete, new and correct interior was installed by a talented upholstery shop, Armand’s Auto Upholstery, Walnut Creek, CA, whose owner owned a Station Sedan and knew them well, having restored a few west coast examples with expertise. Seat fabric, door panels, kick panels, windlace, headliner, and rubber flooring were all replaced using correct materials. Seat frames were painted. The rear cargo area plywood and stainless luggage rails were refinished with beautiful, showroom effect without compare. A removable, square-weave, wool carpet is also installed over the original-style, ribbed mat rubber flooring. Overall, proper fit and finish throughout, very well done. Under the dash is tidy, and stock, with NOS switches and rebuilt overdrive cable. The Victrola-sized tube radio was removed to ease access for new harness and improve around-town gas mileage. The only uninvited guest is a hidden toggle switch for the auxiliary, inline fuel-pump. CHASSIS: Underneath, the frame and body panels are exceptionally straight and clean, without signs of accident or repair. Thoroughly steamed cleaned and wire brushed from front to rear, with removal of loose undercoat and debris from entire front clip, wheel wells, across floor panels and rockers to under gas tank, then coated in only chassis black oil-based paint. Seams sealed, no surface rust, solid as the topside of the car. A MECHANICAL RESTORATION TO REINTRODUCE MOTOR TO CAR AND COMPANY. P is for power. Taking inspiration from the powerful reputation Packard earned from V-12s to Merlins, here’s the “fire-breathing” upgrade that the factory eventually proposed to accelerate the Station Sedan behemoth into a 23rd series. But history hadn’t been so kind. So better late than never. Out with the tired, original 288 and in with this fresh 327 engine rebuilt by Ross Miller of Speedwell Garage. The vacuum-operated wiper motor is rebuilt and functional again for the occasional cloudburst. WHEELS / SUSPENSION / DRIVETRAIN: Two tons of controlled stop, drop and roll…The front suspension is re-bushed and tight again along with new front and rear shocks, rear leaf springs and bushings. Alignment checked, the car stands perched on new Diamond Back radial white wall tires. Complete brake service with replacement of master cylinder, hoses, wheel cylinders, shoes and drums. Wheel bearings, axle half shafts and shims. NOS emergency brake cable found, installed and properly adjusted for most confidence. The new temp sender in the head occasionally sends a false reading to the gauge. I’ve been thinking about installing a nice new oil pressure / water temp gauge cluster discreetly under the dash for accurate touring purposes anyway. Overall, this car is in fine health and at the ready. A man can never be lost when he owns a car that reminds him of a little something to do. Preservation always requires a little responsibility. The big bugs of perpetual nuisance have already been stepped on and smacked dead by an open checkbook. A CURVE IS THE LOVELIEST DISTANCE BETWEEN HERE, AND THERE, THEN AND NOW. It is an absolute delight to share with the enthusiastic every time it’s parked, abruptly turning as many heads and dropped jaws along the way as a string of firecrackers! Children clamor. Seniors hustle. Texting parents snap shots. Its well-endowed, portly shape floats quietly past, a shape so out of context today, parading like a whale, breaching amidst a sea of square automotive appliances, computer-designed for obsolescence. Once docked, Packard’s thoughtful human touch is its inspiring marvel, magic and mystery. Admiring conversation follows in its wake constantly, like the wisp of smoke trailing Buck Rodgers across the sky… If interested, you are encouraged to slip behind the wheel, the chrome and buttercream timber for a drive. With a traditional chassis, a Chevy V8, and a look that recalls the long, sleek roadsters of the '30s, it's a rod that's a cut above the usual stuff. That distinctive "turtle deck" styling is 100% Model T roadster, and it is one of the simplest, yet most elegant shapes ever created. It also looks great surrounded with curvaceous fenders and fronted by an extra-long hood that gives the humble Model T a very sleek look. There's virtually no panel on this entire car that hasn't been customized or hand-fabricated to achieve a look, but the Ford DNA is undeniable in the final result. The long 1-piece hood starts at a highly modified '32 Ford grille shell with a stainless insert that gives it a very updated look. The fenders look like late Model T pieces, again modified to work with the longer front end, and with everything swathed in brilliant Lamborghini Orange paint with a ton of pearl in it, there's no denying that there was someone with a very clear mission at work here. Workmanship is impressive, so if you like the look, there's plenty to love about the build: the beautifully molded cowl that seamlessly blends the hood and the bodywork, the V-shaped windshield, and the fabricated rear bumper that looks like the push bars old Bonneville racers used to use. The interior is quite a bit more user-friendly that the usual Model T, with a wide bench seat that's comfortable and has plenty of room for two. Everything is wrapped in black alligator skin and orange leather, including the custom door panels, and it's carpeted to control noise and heat, both of which are critical in a roadster like this. A custom aluminum steering wheel lives on top of a polished tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable in the driver's seat, and a full complement of white-faced Equus instruments offers a great view of what's going on up front. A mini console was fabricated for the custom shifter, which, in the low-slung roadster, falls easily to hand. In back, the trunk is fully upholstered in black carpet with a matching alligator skin insert on the deck lit itself. There's also a sizeable fuel cell, making this roadster a fantastic cruiser for longer drives. The engine is a rugged and reliable 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that's been recently rebuilt and neatly dressed for show duty under the long hood of this T. Lots of chrome and polished aluminum glitter when you pop the 3-piece hood, and with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, a Holley intake manifold, and a throaty dual exhaust system, it certainly drives like a hot rod. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 9-inch Ford rear end, which hangs on ladder bars and coil-overs. A dropped I-beam front suspension, complete with transverse leaf spring, gives it that vintage hot rod feel and there's a disc brake at each front corner. A set of flashy aluminum Torque Thrust wheels offers the traditional "big-n-little" combination with Goodyear radials up front and giant Pro-Trac donuts in back. Not quite a T-bucket, not quite a track T, and not quite a Model A or Deuce roadster, this is a wild combination with the right look and the right parts to simply be a ton of fun. The Toyota FJ Cruiser, with styling cues reminiscent of Toyota's famed FJ40 4x4 utility vehicle, blends off-road legacy with modern power, comfort, safety, and convenience technology. The FJ Cruiser is available in one trim with a choice of three drivetrains: a rear-wheel-drive version equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, a part-time four-wheel-drive version with a five-speed automatic transmission, or a full-time four-wheel-drive version with a six-speed manual transmission. All versions are powered by a 259 hp 4.0-liter V-6 engine. The FJ Cruiser seats up to five passengers. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is the most capable of all Toyotas when the pavement gives way to gravel, sand and rocks. That's saying something, given the capabilities of the 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Tacoma. All of these Toyotas are among the best in their respective classes for travel over rugged terrain. The FJ Cruiser seats five. The front doors are front-hinged. Rear-hinged rear side doors provide access to the back seat. Main access to the cargo area is through a door hinged on the driver's side of the vehicle instead of a typical roof-hinged hatch-style closure. Having the hinge on the driver's side makes curbside loading and unloading easier. Retro styling gives the FJ Cruiser presence. Designed in California, the FJ Cruiser recalls the Toyota FJ40, known in North America as the original Land Cruiser. The FJ Cruiser will not be mistaken for anything else. Short overhangs aid capability for traversing ditches and other terrain that challenges ground clearance. The rugged, minimalist interior is easy to clean. No leather here, rugged fabric is designed to resist dirt and water. An Off-Road package further enhances the FJ's capabilities with trail-tuned Bilstein shock absorbers and a rear differential lock that works in conjunction with Toyota's A-TRAC off-road traction control system. With this setup, the FJ Cruiser can hang with the Jeep Wrangler crowd. Toyota's 4.0-liter V6 engine makes 260 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. It has dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), which means variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust. We found the FJ Cruiser superb in rugged terrain yet comfortable on the road. Its V6 engine delivers more than ample power and torque for any foreseeable situation. Fuel economy for the 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is an EPA-estimated 17/21 mpg City/Highway for a 4WD automatic, 15/19 mpg for a 4WD with 6-speed manual gearbox, and 17/22 mpg for a 2WD automatic. The full-time 44 with the manual transmission offers the best capability in rugged terrain. The 2014 model year brings only minor changes to the content of some option packages; and a new color, Cement, replacing Cavalry Blue. We don't expect any significant changes to the FJ Cruiser anytime soon. Source: New Car Test Drive Walkaround The Toyota FJ Cruiser is the rebirth of the original Toyota FJ40, known in North America as the original Land Cruiser. It was a rugged, go-anywhere vehicle, a sport utility vehicle decades before the genre had a name. The FJ Cruiser was designed in Southern California. The design evokes the heritage of the FJ40 and other early Land Cruisers without being retro. This is no simple cloning of a nearly half-century old design. Instead, what Toyota wanted to do was to project how the original Jeep-like FJ would have evolved had it remained in production all these years. The engineering and manufacturing of the Toyota FJ Cruiser are done in Japan. Early FJs and Land Cruisers were patterned on the World War II Jeep. Rugged and reliable, Toyota FJs and Land Cruisers became the vehicles of choice for explorers, ranchers, missionaries, United Nations peacekeepers, merchants or anyone else who needed to drive through places such as Australia's Outback, Africa's plains, across Asian steppes, through South American jungles or anywhere else where roads were virtually nonexistent, with trails as harsh and challenging as the natural environment. Exterior styling cues from the original FJ brought forward on the FJ Cruiser include a narrow slot of a second grille built into the front lip of the hood, the trio of windshield wipers at the base of an upright windshield, the round headlights and the metallic-colored enclosure that frames them and the main grille (with Toyota in simple gothic letters, instead of the interlocking oval emblem that adorns the face of other modern Toyotas), the white roof, the wraparound rear windows and the spare tire mounted on the back of the vehicle. The FJ Cruiser shares much of its under structure with the Toyota 4Runner four-door SUV and Tacoma pickup truck, but you'd never guess that to look at the FJ with its wide, turtle-shell body design. Short front and rear overhangs allow serious off-road maneuvering. The 44 versions offer 9.6 inches of ground clearance, with optional underbody armor to provide extra protection against rocks and other obstacles met on unpaved trails. Viewed in profile, the most noticeable aspects of the FJ Cruiser are its upright windshield, tall and protective body sides, short windows and very wide C-pillar on either side of the cargo area. Though it may look like a two-door, the FJ Cruiser actually has four doors, with the rear side doors opening rearward to create a good-sized opening for access to the back seat and cargo area. The rear door also opens wide, and features a backlight glass that can be flipped up when the door itself is closed. The FJ Cruiser features an interesting color palate. You can order the authentically drab Army Green, a desert-warrior dun called Quicksand, or a peachy orange called Magma, in addition to basic Black and Iceberg White. New for 2104 is Cement, a suitably industrial gray inherited from last year's Trail Teams Special Edition. The paint color covers only the hood, fenders, body sides, C-pillars and rear door. In homage to the old FJ40s, all FJ Cruisers (except the monochromatic Trail Teams model) have white roofs, helping keep the cabin cool under a blazing sun. Source: New Car Test Drive Driving Impression Powering the FJ Cruiser is Toyota's 4.0-liter V6 engine, well-proven in the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra. In the FJ Cruiser it develops 260 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, the sort of grunt that comes in handy when traveling off-road or when towing. The FJ Cruiser is rated to tow as much as 4700 pounds. It would work fine for ATVs, snowmobiles and personal watercraft. Though the 4Runner is rated to tow only 300 pounds more on paper, for a variety of reasons we would consider it a much better tow vehicle. The Toyota V6 not only is strong, but clean and fuel-efficient as well. It earns the FJ Cruiser a LEV-II (low-emission vehicle) rating from the federal government. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated 17/21 mpg City/Highway for a 4WD automatic, 15/19 mpg for a 4WD with 6-speed manual gearbox, and 17/22 mpg for a 2WD automatic. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is quite capable off road, even more so than the highly capable 4Runner on which it is based. The FJ offers better approach and departure angles and a shorter wheelbase, with the same generous ground clearance. Of the three drivetrains available, those primarily interested in the unique design statement made by the FJ Cruiser will likely opt for the two-wheel-drive setup. This is not the setup we would choose. Those planning to do serious off-road driving will want the full-time 44 with the manual transmission, which features a clutchless starting feature that can come in handy for rock-crawling maneuvers. With the manual transmission, the drivetrain is a full-time four-wheel-drive setup with H4, H4L (locked Torsen center differential) and L4L (low and locked) settings. The H4 mode usually sends 60 percent of power to the rear wheels, but can send as much as 53 percent of power to the front wheels or 70 percent to the rear wheels as needed. An electronically locking rear differential is standard with the manual transmission and available with the automatic, even in the two-wheel-drive version. With the manual transmission, the FJ Cruiser has an off-road crawl ratio of 41.84:1 and has proven itself capable of traversing California's rugged and world-famous Rubicon Trail. Those looking for an automatic likely will select the part-time 44 with its automatic transmission. It's a good choice regardless of road and weather conditions. It's also a good choice for rugged terrain and is available with Toyota's A-TRAC off-road technology. It's our choice, unless we were planning to do organized off-road adventures. With the automatic transmission, the four-wheel-drive system offers shift-on-the-fly selection with H2 (2WD High range), H4 (4WD High range) or L4 (4WD Low range) settings for the torque-splitting transfer case. The Upgrade Packages include Toyota's computer-controlled A-TRAC, for Active-TRACtion. This system, which also makes steering easier in rugged terrain, can be turned on or off via a switch on the dashboard control panel. In severe off-road situations, drivers may need to engage the locking rear differential, but we found the A-TRAC system ideal for negotiating a series of serious and deep moguls in steep terrain when we did our off-road test drive. The Vehicle Stability Control system works with the roll sensor to try to stop lateral skids before they can lead to a rollover. Failing that, the sensor deploys both the side-impact and side-curtain airbags. VSC comes standard on all models. Toyota anticipates that many FJ Cruiser owners will want to explore away from pavement, but most miles will be racked up on city streets and suburban highways, where we found the FJ Cruiser to be comfortable, even when we sat in the back seat. One thing we did notice, however, was that the big roof rack that's available as an accessory can create a lot of wind noise at Interstate speeds. This is true with all safari-style roof racks, something many Land Rover owners know. We still think lots of people will want one, however, if for no other reason than it looks so cool. We'd order one for ours and put up with the wind noise. Source: New Car Test Drive Interior Like the exterior, the interior of the Toyota FJ Cruiser reflects the character of the early FJ40s, especially when equipped with the optional body-colored door panel inserts. The standard dashboard looks like an extruded aluminum beam, with audio and climate controls set into a body-colored panel in the center. If you want leather seats, you don't want an FJ Cruiser, which comes only with water-resistant cloth upholstery and rubberized floor and cargo mats. The expectation is that people who drive FJ Cruisers will get them dirty, and want the easy cleanup provided by such materials. The seats have active headrests. In certain rear collisions, a cable-actuated mechanism in the headrest moves it upward and forward to help limit the movement of the occupant's head, potentially reducing whiplash injuries. Folding rear headrests help with rearward visibility. Switches for various mechanical systems are set in a panel just ahead of the shift lever. Not only are they conveniently placed, but there are dummy switches to ease installation of aftermarket equipment such as auxiliary lighting or locking axles for extreme off-road use. The driver faces white-faced gauges that are easy to read (speedometer, tachometer, engine temperature, voltage and fuel level). In addition to the regular glove box ahead of the front passenger seat, there's a smaller covered storage box on top of the instrument panel in front of the driver. This area can be fitted with an accessory Garmin Quest 2 navigation unit that can be removed from the vehicle for hiking or other activities. Cup holders are provided in the center console and all four doors. A 12-volt outlet is mounted on the switch panel ahead of the shifter; and a three-prong, grounded 115-volt power outlet in the cargo area with a switch for either 100 or 400 watts of output (the higher figure available when the vehicle is at idle). The rear seatback splits 60/40 to optimize cargo carrying options. The rear-seat cushion tips forward and can be removed to provide a few more inches of cargo area behind the front seats. Rear-hinged rear side doors give easy access to the back seat and cargo area, helped by front seatbacks that fold forward. Perhaps appropriately, the front seatback folds a little further forward on the right (curb) side. The standard audio system includes a CD player and iPod and MP3 capability as well as two ceiling-mounted speakers designed to enhance the sound experience within the FJ Cruiser. The Upgrade Package increases the speaker count from six to eleven and includes a pair of 2.6-inch speakers mounted on the rear pillars. Because the FJ Cruiser has wide C-pillars that may interfere with the driver's rearward vision, a rearview camera is included in the Convenience Package, to warn the driver of the proximity of objects when the transmission is in Reverse. The Upgrade Package adds rear parking sonar. We had no trouble parking the FJ in urban settings on our test drive, nor did we have to move into strange positions to see stoplights through the upright windshield. It is glossy, slick, and wet looking, and shows just as nice in the moonlight as it does in the sun. There are a handful of little normal marks on the car like stone chips, small scuffs, and things like that, but overall it shows really, really nicely as you can see in the 100 photos below. The body on this car is in very good condition, with no rust, rot, or sign of any chicken wire and beer can patch panels. Gaps are better than average, but not Barrett-Jackson quality. Everything opens and closes like it should, and all of the weather stripping and rubber seals are in good to excellent condition all around. Undersides of the doors are in exceptional condition, as is the underside of the trunk and hood. Rockers are clean, neat, and straight. Wheel well trim is in excellent condition, and shows great! Chrome bumpers look fantastic and are almost as good as new with no rust, patina, or issues. Side rocker trim is in above average condition, and a little of your elbow grease and your favorite polish could make them look even better! Headlight buckets are exceptional, as is the custom straight bar grill and front market light surrounds. Nova SS emblems and other badges are in very good condition and look fantastic on the car. Rear end bright work and tail lamp trim is in exceptionally good condition too. Driver side mirror looks and works great, as do the door handles, door and trunk locks, windshield and rear glass surround, and the gutter and vent window trim. Head lamps and tail lamps are recent additions, and they all look and work like new, along with the front and rear signals. It rolls on PACER 521P DRAGSTER wheels front and back that are in very good condition except for the rear center caps, which show some light oxidation. It may just come out when you detail the car, which we have NOT done, but I want to mention it. Tires are practically new Firestone radials up front sized P185/60R15, and a set of equally new looking Mickey Thompson ET STREET tires live out back, size P235/60R15. The stance is great on the car, and it has just the right rake from the performance spring kit and shocks to make it look as mean as it is! Inside, the car has a basically stock looking full interior. Seats are in excellent condition front and back, with no rips, tears, seam pulls, or issues. Front buckets flip forward to allow access to the back, and seat belts cover the laps of everybody inside. Carpeting is in very good condition, and a quick vacuum will make it show even nicer! Rubber mats cover the front and rear, and there are no signs of worn spots, stains, or damage. Kick panels, door panels, rear panels, and rear deck all look very good, and the rear deck houses a pair of speakers that sound fantastic playing whatever you want the Sony AM/FM/CD MP3 unit to play! Headliner is clean and undamaged, but is a little saggy in spots. Heck, you have to have SOMETHING to do on the car besides show it off, right? Dash is clean and undamaged, and holds Sony CD, functional switches for the lights, wipers, the lock-up converter, key switch, 12V cigar lighter, and the heater/fan controls knobs. Ashtray opens closes, and aforementioned CD player is mounted cleanly in the dash as well. Factory gauge cluster is in average condition, with light signs of age, but the fuel gauge works, and it still looks good! Speedo is erratic, but functions, and the odometer is finicky too. SUNPRO was tapped to provide gauges for monitoring the cars vitals, and you get a massive SUPERTACH III with shift light on top of the column, a 3-gauge mount under the dash with TEMP, VOLT, and OIL, and a separate gauge for the supercharger boost. Stock column is clean and nice, as is the steering wheel, but the horn is not functioning at this time. If I can fix it I will, but it does not work. Signals works, and the floor mounted high beam switch does too. Glovebox opens to a clean and cardboard lined storage cubby. A B&M Mega Ratchet shifter is cleanly mounted, and works fantastic! You can really jam through all four speeds up or down without fear using this thing! Jamming through the gears is something you will do a lot of with this car, as the former owner/builder is a rail car drag race driver, and wanted a cool toy for cruise nights and hijinks! According to his records, the engine and transmission were done a little over a year and 700 miles ago, and it was done with the same care they put into the drag cars. There are enough polished, chrome, and billet goodies on it to look good at the car shows, but the real beauty is in how it runs!!! It fires up with ease, has a very nice lope from the cam, and is ready to roll when you are. Keep your foot out of it, and the car is really mild-mannered and easy to cruise in town every day! Jump on it, and you better hold on, because that extra kick of horsepower comes on fast and clean, and will require that you pay attention! The motor sits at about 380rwhp before the blower kicks in, and the 8% boost at WOT pushes you up close to the 500 mark when you need it, and does it all on PUMP GAS!!!! I have driven this car about 120 miles in the last three days, and it is as well behaved as any clean muscle car when you keep your foot out of it. You can cruise at 70mph with the lock-up on, and will only tach about 2,600rpm! It does NOT get hot, and stays at 192 most of the time, with a peak temp of 198 while stuck in traffic waiting to get down to the beach for 30 minutes. I’ll take that any day! Boost is quick and seamless, and the car will hook up really good if you ease into it. Mash the go pedal all at once, and it will spin tire with the best of them until those Mickey T’s find traction. This car is FAST. It has the perfect combination of speed and reliability to make it a Drag Week kind of car, and it is VERY well-built. The prior owner drove it to Orlando before with his family, and said he never even thought twice about the trip! The professionally built 200R4 overdrive shifts great, and has a DEFINITE throw into 2nd gear from the shift kit. Put it in “D” and drive, or manually row through the gears to have even more fun! The tranny is about bulletproof, and was designed to handles the rigors of motors STARTING at 600hp, so it can easily handle any upgrades you may want to do to the motor. Chassis on the car is clean, without any rust through, rot, patch panels, holes, or gunky “rust-proofing” spray hiding everything. Clean, bare metal, and it looks good. Performance springs and shocks were installed all around, along with the brakes and lines noted above. Ride is pretty firm, so the car doesn’t bottom out or wallow, and it gets traction pretty easy because of it. Once hooked, the car aims straight, and thanks to a recent balance and alignment, it holds that line with ease. Brakes are adjusted perfectly, and bring the car down without any odd wander, excess fade, or issues. Exhaust note is crisp and lets everyone know you have arrived, but is not so obnoxious that your neighbors decide to move. Full throttle brings a beautiful bark to the exhaust note, and the car will put a smile on your face each time you hit the gas! Young soldiers with post-WWII salary cash who were looking for the thrills and adrenalin rush they experienced during the global conflict; sought after cheap automobile platforms to extensively modify for maximum performance. The Ford Model-T provided just what the young “hot-rodders” were looking for, a versatile chassis and inexpensive parts. This 1923 T-Bucket has been tastefully modified, in true “hot-rodder” fashion. Both the body and frame are aftermarket copies of an original 1923 Model T; the body is fiberglass and the frame is a 2×4 boxed steel. A 350ci Chevrolet based V8 replaced the sluggish 4-cyclinder, along with a heavy-duty live rear axle. The engine is very healthy and ideals at a comfortable temperature and noise level. A newer aluminum radiator has been fitted into the shell of a ’32 Ford radiator, keeping the “hot-rod” look while still gaining all of the advantages of modern cooling systems. This T-bucket’s front axle is placed front of the engine; an aftermarket drop axle was used along with a transversely mounted leaf spring and small shock absorbers. The addition of the shock absorbers improves the road handling and comfort dramatically. The bright yellow paint is in excellent condition, contrasting well against the chrome used throughout the car. From front to back, and top to the fully finished and detailed bottom, the car is just amazing! I had the pleasure of purchasing this car from the gentleman who owned it for many years, and spent 2 years performing the total restoration on the car in his performance shop here in Florida. I bought the car about 2 years ago, and my friend Mike got it from me about a year ago, and proceeded to put about $15,000 more into in with a complete new engine and powertrain set up, front disc conversion, full and complete detail, and brand spankin’ new 17” wheels and tires! He drove the car while working on his other show car project so he wouldn’t be without wheels for the Spring/Summer cruising season, but now he needs to sell it to fund the rest of the show car build while Winter keeps him in the garage. He took the photos you see, and sent them to me since the car looks different than when I sold it to him. I attached one photo of it when it was mine so you can see it! The car started out solid, and it was a running, driving car in its original Glacier White exterior that was a hit at local car shows. A decision to repaint the car was the catalyst to create the fully restored YENKO tribute the car is today. The entire car was separated from the chassis, and every single piece, part, nut, and washer was removed until it was nothing but a pile of parts. Decisions were made as to which components were deemed worthy of refurbishment and reuse on the new car, while those which didn’t pass muster were used to order NOS replacements for the build. The body was incredibly straight and clean, as were the floors, and you can see that in the restoration photos below. Some metal work was required to get the car in top condition, but it is minimal, and was professionally performed leaving no signs of replacement. The body is incredibly straight and smooth, and great care was taken to make sure that all gaps were even, all hinges aligned properly, and all other fit and finish issues were addressed prior to handing the car over to be painted. The car was carefully blocked, gone over, and prepped before three coats of DuPont GM HUGGER ORANGE were carefully sprayed on, then it was allowed to dry and prepped for 2 coats of DuPont 74500 clear with 14305S hardener. After drying, the finish was then lovingly hand-sanded and buffed to perfection, and it looks absolutely magnificent, as you can see in the 100 EXTRA-LARGE photos below. I am sure that you could find a small blemish, mark, chip, or something on the cars painted surface if you start crawling around on your hands and knees, but a careful walk around of the car reveals no dents, dings, scratches, scrapes, or damage of any kind. Perfect is a word that gets tossed around on eBay like a football on Thanksgiving, and no car is ever perfect, but this one really comes close! The underside of the car was sprayed as well, and it shows just as nice, with clean paint, and even a finish sand and buff on it as well! The entire chassis was stripped, coated in rust-preventative, and treated to chassis black before all of the new or refurbished suspension bits were installed again. Everything on the chassis got new hardware, new bushings, bearings, inner/outer tie rods, ball joints, insulators, and more. Front brakes were converted over to new STREET BANDIT disc units from NPD, who also supplied the new booster and proportioning system. The rear drum units were completely rebuilt as well, and everything got all new lines and fittings before being adjusted to perfection. The car stops perfectly, and doesn’t have any abnormal wander, fade, or pulling under heavy braking. Steering is tight, smooth, and easy, and the car tracks as straight as an arrow going down the highway. The GM 10 bolt POSI rear was opened, cleaned, inspected, and fit with 3.73 gears for a mix of highway and back road manners before being bolted back in place. Every corner got new shocks and mounts, and the ride is soft enough to make Sunday rides comfortable, but firm enough to let you have a little fun too. There are no suspension squeaks or rattles evident when driving the car. The gas tank and all of the fuel lines are new, as is about 85% of the hardware on the chassis. It is worthy of being put on a stand with mirrors underneath when you show it, and is a truly stunning chassis job. Back up top, practically all of the bright work, trim, and chrome was either redone, replaced, or refurbished to like-new status, and it still shows that way from every angle. The Chevelle emblems, YENKO emblems, GM badging, 427 badging, and grill badging are all in exceptional condition. Grill itself shows like new, as does the headlamp trim, tail lamp surrounds, and rear cover trim and badging. The chrome trim on the steel cowl hood looks like new as well. All of the YENKO striping on the car is in exceptional condition, has been carefully installed to avoid bubbles and issues, and has no tears or damage whatsoever. Chrome mirrors, window trim surround, and door handles all look fantastic, and show no damage or disrepair either. The glass on the car is in exceptional condition, and has no chips, cracks, laminate issues, or damage. All of the windows roll up and down with ease on new felts and regulators. A YENKO metal plate frame out back completes the look, as does the correct YENKO drivers side back window decal. Overall, the outside of the car is 9.5 out of 10.0, and it is 100% ready to show on a National or Regional level right now. The chassis is a solid 9.5 out of 10.0, and basically needs to be pressure washed to get the light road grime off of it to be a 9.9 (nothing is perfect!). Open the trunk and you are met by stunningly clean floor, full size spare with tire (not much tread, but it’s a spare, right?), new trunk seal, and correct POSI and JACK stickers in place. It looks like new, and other than the balding tread on the spare, could pass for a time machine back to 1969! Open the hood, and you are met with an exceptionally clean engine bay, from the new radiator with chrome top panel back to the cleaned and painted firewall. It shows incredibly well, and is as clean as you would expect a freshly built car to be. Mike took out the LT4 motor that was in the car when I had it, because he wanted more raw power, and had a BRAND NEW 383ci Stroker motor built and installed. The block is a 4-bolt main that was cleaned, magnafluxed, and aligned honed, bored .040 over to 385CID. It was plate honed, had new rings, cam bearings, freeze plugs, screw in oil plugs, and a clearance double roller chain installed, and was decked .008 as well. The rotating assembly consists of and Eagle forged steel stroker crank, Eagle I-Beam rods with ARP cap screws, Speed Pro 4040 flat top hypertectic pistons with 2 valve reliefs, moly coated skirts, floating pins, power crank dampener, and king pin and rod bearings. The cam is a Speed Pro CS186R hydraulic flat tappet unit ADV duration 284/284, duration at .050 is 230/230 at valve 481/481 with 1.5 rocker. Lobe displacement angle is 110 degrees, intake center line is 106 degrees. Delphi GM lifters, comp cam bolt locking plate, and double roller timing chain were installed. Melling supplied the high volume oil pump with steel sleeve shaft and welded pickup. Heads are casting #462 Fuelie 1967 with new valve guides, stainless valves, 3 angle seats, guide bosses cut to .500, viton seals, comp roller stamped rocker arms and new screw in studs. Spring pressure is 105lbs @1.700” FelPro gaskets, Hastings moly rings, 383 valve covers, Summit Pro mini-starter, distributer, Accel plug wires, 18” flex fan, 10qt oil cap., painted and finished in Chevy orange. MARCH PERFROMANCE was tapped for a complete serpentine belt system with polished brackets and pulley system. Dyno tested results on this motor are 468hp at 5,800 rpm, and 493 FT lbs torque @4300 rpm. Wiring is clean and logically done, with no shortcuts or “backyard” ingenuity. All lines and hoses throughout were new to the build, and all of it is in exceptional condition. The motor gets power to the aforementioned 10-Bolt via a completely custom built TH400 which was rebuilt from the case in with all new HD race clutches and Steels, blue-printed high flow front pump, reverse manual valve body, HD sprag assembly w/steel drum, HD clutch hub, JW Bellhousing and HD input and intermediate shafts. IT also has a 3,500 stall converter installed with an Anti-Balloon plate. It takes the almost 500hp coming from the motor and gets it to the rear end with zero issues or complaints. It can drive as mild mannered as you want it thanks to the 3500rpm stall, but when you want to jam through the gears, it can take everything the car has and more! The transmission was built to 700hp specifications, and is practically bulletproof! The car is a MONSTER when you want it to be, and it runs through the gears like it was made for the strip when you manhandle it, but can still cruise you on the boulevard without any problems. The car is set up and was dyno tested to run on PUMP GAS 97 octane. It was in, and continues to be, in a street tune, but has more than enough capability for higher numbers with some racing fuel and tuning adjustments. It is currently set up so you can drive it around daily without having to constantly adjust things when you want some solid power from the pedal, making it a PERFECT tune for someone who is not a mechanic and just wants to drive and enjoy the car. If you like to tinker with things, I am sure that HP ratings MUCH higher are probably attainable, with corresponding torque ratings to match. The parts and build out on the powertrain were selected to handle it. There are no leaks, weeping fluids, odd sounds, or known issues with the powertrain at this time, and it performs wonderfully. Idle is clean and lopey, and it sounds fantastic through the custom exhaust system. It does NOT run hot, and Mike tells me it as docile as you want it to be for around town driving, but ready to ROCK when the green light flashes! Overall, the engine bay and powertrain on the car is a rock solid 10 out of 10.0, because it runs, looks, and performs like the freshly built machine it is. Last but not least, let’s check out the stunning interior on this machine! Opening the doors reveals an interior that is equal parts original and restored/NOS, with a clean and stock appearance throughout. Door panels, kick panels, side panels, and pillar panels are all in exceptional condition, and show wonderfully. Door pulls and window rollers are original to the car, and still show incredibly well. Dash is clean, neat, and damage free, and is fit with the 120mph speedo on the left of the gauge pod with warning lights in the 2nd pod for FUEL, GEN, TEMP, and OIL. A gear selection panel completes the gauge area, and works as it should. Light and wiper switches are stock and clean, and the lights function in PARK, HI, and LOW beam settings. Wipers work as they should, but washer does not. The factory radio has been replaced by a retro looking unit from CLASSIC CAR STEREOS with an AM/FM digital tuner and iPod hookup plug. It sounds great through the new 140 watt DVC dash speaker, which was used to avoid cutting any other speaker holes in the car. Glove compartment opens and reveals a clean liner on the inside, with an iPod/mp3 plug for the stereo system. Cigar lighter unit is intact, and the dash lights are functional as well. Ashtray area is original and the inside shows light patina from the cars 44 years of use. I can’t honestly say if the car was smoked in or not over the past four decades, but it has NOT been smoked in since restoration, and the car has ZERO odors or smells of any kind. It has also been PET FREE since completion. Seats are in exceptional condition front and back, and show to be clean and free of any tears, stains, seam pulls, or damage. Same can be said of the carpet, which shows very light signs of normal use, and can probably clean up even nicer when you have the car professionally detailed. Headliner is also clean and damage free, and looks fantastic in the car. Dome light works, and the optional shoulder belts hang from the roof mounts. The center console is clean and solid, and has only light patina to show from its 44 odd years of use. The dual-gate shift functions perfectly, and has positive engagement in all selection spots. Console lid opens and closes as it should, and the storage compartment is clean and functional. Issues on the inside? It needs a good detail in all the little nooks and crannies, and could use a new decal for the heat/vent control panel to make it perfect. Overall, the car has an interior that combines original, restored, and new components together to present as a solid 9.00 out of 10.00. It is clean, solid, and damage free, and will look even nicer when you have a chance to professionally detail the car. I have personally driven this car about 150 miles prior to Mike buying it from me, in a mix of highway and in-town situations, and I found it to be a remarkably well-mannered and smile-inducing machine to drive. This car is a freshly completed build by a Hot Rod shop owner in central Florida, and it is about as clean a car as you could ask for! The car consists of a Total Performance body, California Custom Roadsters rails, Speedway ordered suspension bits, and completely reworked 350ci V8 with brand new 350 Turbo transmission. The TPI body is in fantastic condition, and just like the rails, rear end, and pretty much everything else, was carefully prepped for accepting the gorgeous Dark Brown Mica Metallic finish. Mixed directly from the PPG color chart for a 2007 Camry, the color is easy to match if you need to, and provides a rich looking finish in a sea of black and yellow cars. The finish is glossy, slick, and wet looking all around, and has been painstakingly hand striped from front to back to contrast with the finish and match the neutral colored steel wheels. The car has really not been driven much, so it shows less than a handful of truly minor little marks like tiny scuffs/stone chips and things on the painted areas. The rear end has been smoothed and painted as well, and looks amazing, as do the frame rails from front to back. Again, practically no sign of use to be found, just normal dirt/grime from not being professionally detailed. The builder fabricated a custom built, removable rear storage rack that looks amazing, and has the strength and room to hold a cooler, show chairs, and whatever else you might need for a day of cruising. It really gives the car a great look, especially with the 15 gallon spun aluminum gas tank with vent positioned in front of it! Aluminum also contributes the frame for the glass windshield, which is crack and damage free. It has vintage style chrome mounts, and a chrome round mirror on the driver side. The car rolls on brand new Wheel Vintique Steelies wrapped in fresh, skinny radial tires. The combo up front is P235/75R15 in the back with chrome lug nuts and trim ring, with like-new DHTZ radial tires. Up front, skinner 185/65R15 Douglas Xtra-Trac II radials are wrapped around matching steelies with chrome trim rings, lug nuts, and centers. All of it looks like new, and has less than 300 test and break-in miles on it since completion. Chrome vintage style side steps make getting in and out of the car a breeze for driver or passenger. The OEM theme continues at the back of the car with vintage looking chrome tail lamps, including driver side license plate mount with light. Polished aluminum head lamp mounts prop up the massive chrome head lights, which seem to light up the world when they are on. All of the chrome and bright work still looks new because it basically is! This car was freshly done, and has just an estimated 300 miles or less on it, as well as the majority of the components. Chassis on the car in the back consists of a painted Speedway 4-bar set up including polished and powder coated coil-over shocks, and a narrowed, smoothed, and cleanly finished 8” rear end packed with 2.79 gears. Up front, Wintec was tapped for the entire front suspension system, which was also treated to the Dark Mica finish, along with all new hardware and components. The chassis was carefully aligned and adjusted, and the rear drum brakes and front disc units were perfectly adjusted to bring the car down from speed without any drama, pulling, or excess fade. It rides fantastic, doesn’t feel choppy on the road, and tracks normally without pulling or catching thanks to the narrower modern radial tires. The engine block was sourced from a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette according to the prior owner/builders notes, and the block casting number and casting date number would support that. The 350ci 2-Bolt Main engine was thermos cleaned, peened, tumbled, and then magnafluxed to check for any hairline cracks or issues. After passing muster, the decks were surfaced, cylinders bored, and that other good stuff the machinist does before it was completely reassembled with all new internals, gaskets, and accessories. This was a stock-type rebuild, with OEM spec internals, so you don’t have to worry about it having a crazy cam or having to constantly wrench on it! All new seals, gaskets, and hardware throughout made sure the build looked as fresh as it was. Power is plentiful, and the car will spin tire for days if you want, but still run at highway speeds without killing itself thanks to the highway friendly gears. An HEI distributor feeds all new plugs, JEGS Performance plug wires, and ignites the fuel for the Edelbrock Performer 1406 carb. This 600cfm square-bore unit is the perfect match for the Edelbrock Performer intake on the car, and gets fuel to everything without any issues. Wondering what the cool air breather is? It is an old vintage bed pan that was reworked for the car! A polished aluminum custom radiator with custom aluminum fan keeps things running super cool, with all new hoses, gaskets, and waterpump. Performance starter fires it up every single time, and all new custom wiring with modern harness makes sure the electrical is just as perfect as the rest of the car. The engine was matched to a brand new 350 Turbo transmission, which has a 2,500rpm stall, 10” converter, and gets direction from the B&M Shifter with vintage style crystal ball topper. Mechanically, the car is all sorted out, and it starts perfectly, runs wonderfully, and has proven to be reliable and clean running during my tenure with the car. I have driven the car about 75 miles myself, and it is a BLAST! It handles great, can be guided by one hand, and does everything it is supposed to do VERY well! There are no known electrical, mechanical, or functional issues with the car at this time, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. Inside, the tub was finished out with all-weather capability in mind. It is covered from the sides to the seat in marine grade vinyl done in a vintage pleated style and two-tone for a classic look. Upholstery shows little, if any, signs of being used. The prior owner/builder was about 6’2 and 195 pounds, so he made sure there is plenty of room to get around inside the car. I am 5’11” and about 250 and I fit just fine in it too. Lokar supplied the spoon chrome gas pedal and OEM style brake pad, which are both to the right of the column for easy access. An OEM style column has a vintage turn signal/ hazard light control affixed to it, and is topped by a custom made all aluminum steering wheel. Three different shift trim rings are included with the car, so when you decide if you want any kind of floor covering, you can use them to affix the boot. A master battery shut-off is conveniently floor mounted as well, and works as it should. Dash is painted and finished, and has Stewart Warner gauges for OIL pressure, and WATER temp on each side of the centrally located SPEEDO with odometer. Speedo still needs a cable to hook it up to the 350 transmission, so you can say you did SOMETHING to the car! After the initial build and shake down was complete, the car was disassembled for paint, powdercoat, and upholstery work. It was then rebuilt, driven about 225 miles by the builder, and another 75 or so by me. Now, you can start with zero and roll off into the sunset knowing that the car really doesn’t need anything at all except to be driven. Overall, this is an incredibly well-built machine, with essentially all new parts from front to back. It has a great old-school appeal to it, and snaps heads like a chicken farmer when you drive past! In the area? Come see it. If not, fly down here for a personal showing! It is the original mid-size SUV, and has created a legacy of being one of the toughest 4x4’s made over the years! This particular Bronco has just completed a full restoration that took a little over two and a half years to complete, and the end result is one of the cleanest, straightest, great running, and easy driving Bronco Wagons you will come across. The first thing you see is the gorgeous Blow Glow Poly FORD finish on the truck, which is accented by the Smoke Gray roof, side stripes, and hood stripes. The finish is so wet looking that you’ll check your hand for paint after you touch it! It is shiny, deep, and looks just as good in the shade as it does in the sunlight. The rich, smoke grays stripes were carefully sprayed on the hood and sides, and accent the wagon well in conjunction with the smoke gray fiberglass roof. The body is just STUNNING, and is so straight and solid that you won’t even comprehend it! SO MUCH MONEY was spent to make sure that the inside, outside, pans, floors, gaps, seams, and everything else on the truck was perfect, it actually looks better than new!!!! It is ALL STEEL, and there is absolutely NO MUD, NO BONDO, NO CHICKEN WIRE, NO BEER CANS CRUSHED UP, NO BS REPAIRS, AND NO SHORCUTS on this car!!!! If you look inside the front fenders it is so clean and straight it shows better than new!!!!!! There are NO STORIES with this Bronco, and I strongly encourage you to come see it in person, because the first person who does will buy it on the spot. Yes, you will see a small little blemish, stone chip, hairline scuff, or something of that nature if you dig around long enough, but make no mistake about it, this Bronco is PRIME TIME READY and can withstand the most scrutinizing inspection with pride. The largest is an area at the DS rear where the bumper edge rubbed it during installation, and it isn’t really noticeable until you get right up on it. The rest is little blems you will see on all but the $150,000 and up stuff. Remember that this Bronco has NOT been detailed by me! We like to show our cars without all the fluff and photoshopping other people use, so just know that once you get it home and clean all the nooks and crannies out, it will look even nicer than it does already! The glass is all original, and in good to above average condition. The windshield has some debris marks in it from normal use, but is perfectly usable and clear to see through. Rear window also has some marks, but is quite good overall. Side glass and vent windows are in really good condition, and none of the glass shows any cracks or issues with laminate. The Bronco rolls on a BRAND NEW SET of PACER 15” 8-hole show chromed rims that are wrapped in new GOODYEAR Wrangler RWL tires sized 31x10.50R 15LT all the way around. The tires are PERFECT for the Bronco, and have a great look without being unruly when you drive it! Overall, the exterior of this truck is stunning, and when you roll into a parking lot, heads turn and the cell phone camera’s flash because not many people have seen a Bronco as nice as this one! Pop the hood pins and open up the hood to a really clean and well done engine bay that is ready to start and take you anywhere! The factory 302 FORD motor is clean, neat, and more than presentable, even without a detail. It was treated to new valve cover gaskets, new intake gasket, new plugs, new distributor, new hoses, new plug wires, new alternator, new starter, new Holley Carb, new radiator, radiator shroud, fan, clamps, belt, hoses, and lines. It has the stock air cleaner/breather system which works and looks great. It had its second full fluid service since break-in and initial fluid change on 6/15/2015, and is ready to roll with about 800 miles since then, 200 or so of those being put on by me personally! It is running 10W30 here in Florida, but you can change it to whatever fits your climate the best. It has a new (6/2015) Duralast GOLD battery with 550CCA and new cables and ground strap. Factory date coded jack with handle resides on the driver side fender and works like it should. New brake master cylinder and lines, along with new shoes all around helps it stop on a dime. Brakes are correctly adjusted so that it doesn’t pull, wander, or jerk when you use them. The engine starts with a quick turn of the key, idles cleanly, and has no skip, burble, or stutter to it. Snick the 3-speed transmission into gear, and she is ready to go wherever you want! Each gear change is smooth and easy, and power comes on as needed with just a press of your right foot. No drama, no issues. Just drive it. I have personally put about 200 miles on this Bronco, and finally had to stop because I knew I had to take pictures of it and get it out in the marketplace! It is a blast to drive, and does everything like it should. Power is smooth, shifts are smooth, it doesn’t even remotely get hot, even when idling in beach traffic for 40 minutes on a Sunday, and everything on and in it works like it should. Ride is nice, thanks to NEW 5.5” long-travel coil springs up front, block lift on new springs out back, new shocks all around, and a dropped pitman arm, track bar, track bar bushings, dropped radius arms, and new bushings, bearings, and brackets, and more. It steers nice, doesn’t dance or snag wheel troughs, and is so easy to manage that my wife even wanted to take it to the store without being coerced! It has a completely rebuilt manual steering box, and the larger wheel and tire combo makes it super easy to turn, even at low speeds. The front tank was purposefully left out of the Bronco, as the prior owner had intended on putting a gun safe under that section, and never had the chance. The rear tank is new, as are the lines, and 2-way tank switch was left intact up front if you want to add one down the road. The entire chassis was treated to a VERY LIGHT COAT of Rhino –Liner material to protect it from rocks, debris, and rust. IT IS VERY LIGHT, AND YOU CAN STILL EASILY SEE ALL THE METAL ON THE FLOOR! It is solid, clean, and still shows the stamping marks on it to the naked eye. This is a very light coat, not a hiding coat like you see sometimes. The transfer case is a 300777-15 DANA-SPICER Model 20 with the serial tag still attached, and it was refurbished to stock specifications and works as it should. This unit has the 2:34.1 low range gear according to the prior owners notes, which would be correct for a model 20 in 1973 from what I found online. I have engaged both low and high aspects of the 4wd system in the grassy area behind our store, and it functions like it should. Overall, the chassis, engine bay, and mechanicals on the truck look great, perform like they should, and will not disappoint the new owner. Again, it has NOT been detailed by me, so you will see that the underside has some grime and dirt on it, and the grease from lubricating the rear diff got thrown up on the floor pan, so it will need wiped off. It is clean and solid, and a little time with a pressure washer and some towels will make it show exceptionally well when you get it home! Pull open the doors to reveal the interior, but don’t worry, they have NEW CATCH STRAPS to keep them from extending out too far! Tom’s Bronco was tapped for a complete new set of front and rear seats, and almost $1,300 later, the deluxe buckets and rear bench were installed with new hardware, seat tracks, and seat belts! They look amazing, are super easy to keep clean, and are as comfortable as most modern cars are to sit it! Tom’s also supplied the matching dual sun visors, brake pedal, clutch pedal, gas pedal, high beam floor switch with wiring harness, and a new rear view mirror. The original steering column is topped by the original steering wheel, which looks amazing and has a fully functional horn too! The shifter arm, 4x4 shift arm, and signal arm are original, and work great! Dash is clean, neat, and painted to match, and has a fully functional speedometer and odometer on it, along with inset gauges for TEMP, FUEL, OIL, and ALTERNATOR that all appear to be working as they should. Speedometer surround is original and worn, but the prior owner didn’t want to replace it. You can either restore it, paint it, leave it, or replace it if you want, and all of those options have a minimal cost involved. All of the other switches on the car work like they should, including: *LIGHT SWITCH – PARKING AND HEADLAMPS WORK, PLUS FOOT HIGH BEAM SWITCH *HAZARD LIGHT SWITCH WORKS *TWO SPEED ELECTRIC WIPERS WORK, AS DO THE WASHER SPRAY NOZZLES. *KEY SWITCH AND LIGHT WORK *VENT CONTROLS FOR DRIVER AND PASSNEGER SIDE WORK *FAN SWITCH CONTROL FOR HEATER/DEFROST WORKS The original window rollers were kept, as they look really good for being 42 years old, and the original door arm rest pads were kept for mainly sentimental reasons. They are both fully functional, but I would replace them just to make everything come up to the level of the rest of this Bronco. Door panels themselves are painted in the Smoke Gray for contrast, and have all new stainless hardware on them. New interior door pulls, and door pull cups look fantastic too, and function like they should. Door jambs are clean and hinges are lithium grease lubricated. Bottoms of the doors show wonderfully, as do the jambs and rockers. The entire floor of the Bronco is bare metal, and you can see how solid, straight, rust, and rot free it is from the top or the bottom!!!! I didn’t want to put rubber matting or carpet in this, because it is kind or a personal choice, so I thought the new owner could pick if they didn’t like the bare metal. Rear lift gate opens easily, and the factory stops work to keep it in the open spot until you want it down. Tail gate opens like it should, and it is as solid as new inside, at the pivot points, and all around. Tail gate and lift gate hardware and arms are original and in perfect working order, but not as clean and pretty as the rest of the new stuff on this machine. The fiberglass top is in fantastic condition, and is painted in the Smoke Gray color. I have never had it removed, but from what I can see, it is in phenomenal condition, with no known issues. Key locks the hatch and doors like it should, with another for the ignition. This Bronco is one bad machine, and every time I have taken it out for a spin, someone stops me for a photo, to tell me a story, or just to marvel at it! When money is not an objection, and you want it to be done right, this is the kind of ride you end up with! There are over $16,000 in receipts for mainly paint, body, and prep work that come with the car, and when you see it in person, you will know that a lot more was spent on this Bronco to get it done right. This T-Bucket is a show quality machine that is ready to enter into any local, regional, or National event, and continue its history of collecting awards and accolades while you enjoy driving it! The body, windshield, top, and corresponding hardware are all from CCR (California Custom Roadster) and are in exceptional condition. Top goes up and down when you want it to, and the hardware to affix it removes and attaches easily. You can cruise at 70 with the roof up or down, as it has a super strong frame in place to keep it stiff. The top has no rips, tears, or seam pulls, and is in exceptional condition. The body, along with the chassis and rear end, has been carefully prepared and finished in multiple coats of hand-rubbed PPG Viper Yellow, before having stunning Tangerine Pearl and Coppermist flames airbrushed on it. The final touch is an abundance of tasteful “one-shot” hand pinstripe work done by the one and only “Lil’ Milly” all around the car. The car is in FANTASTIC condition, and is show-ready right now. As stated above, we don’t formally detail the cars we sell, so if you wanted to put in a judged GoodGuys or NSRA event, I would recommend just going over it with toothbrush and hitting the nooks and crannies before polishing it up for the event, but other than that, it is ready to rock! The paint is glossy, slick and wet looking, and is so vibrant that people just want to take pictures of it! No signs of damage, cracks, chips, or even any real scuff marks on the finish, and the striping and flames are clean and issue free as well. The underside of the frame and lower engine shows a few tiny stone chips and marks from being driven 2,693 miles, but there is no damage, and nothing that couldn’t be easily touched up if you wanted to put over a mirror at shows. It has the CCR split windshield, side ties, and wind wings, although the driver side plexiglass wing was broken, so you will need a new one. Hardware is still intact, and it literally slides right in. Chassis on the car is a rare 121” Daffy’s Rod Shop custom built frame which makes this T as much fun to drive as it is to look at! Adding a bit of length makes it track better, ride nicer, handle easier, and look cooler than the typical shorty wheelbase units you see, and as you can tell from the detailed pictures below, the craftsmanship, welds, and finish work are indeed show quality on every level. All of the suspension components, coil overs, finned disc brake units, front suspension, spring, steering arm, and more are show chrome finished, and show ready! If it is not painted, it is chrome or polished aluminum! The wheels are in exception condition, and are gorgeous polished aluminum as well, and are wrapped in tires only a few years old with just 2,693 miles on them. The rear deck cover comes off easily to provide access to the 15 gallon racing fuel tank and Red Top Optima battery underneath. The interior is from CCR as well, and fits the body like a glove, with a comfy seat and full wrap-around side panels for a super clean look. No rips, tears, damage or seam pulls are evident. There are seat belts for the driver and passenger hidden under the seat if you need and use them, and I pulled part of them out to show in the photos. The seat base easily lifts to access the belts, as well as the modern cartridge fuse box and wiring. The chrome steering column angles back slightly to make it more comfy than the typical straight up and down units you usually see, and it is topped by a chrome and real wood reverse 4-spoke wagon wheel, with functional column mounted tachometer and signal control. Dash is molded with the body, and contains SW Gauges for FUEL/OIL/SPEEDO-ODOM/TEMP/OP along with indicators for the signals and a key switch. All of the gauges appear to working as they should and look to be calibrated as well. LOKAR provided the chrome angled shifter arm with push-down flamed dice topper, as well as the functional chrome E-Brake handle, spoon gas pedal, and chrome/rubber brake pedal. Hi-beam switch is floor mounted and foot operated. Carpeting is marine grade banded material over insulation, and looks fantastic. This Rod is powered by a fully refreshed and rebuilt GM 327 Corvette engine that was built mildly to provide tons of fun without sacrificing long-term reliability and allowing ease of maintenance too. Block was painted yellow to match, before being treated to as many chrome, billet, and polished dress up items as you could put on one. From the intake to the oil pan, if it could be chromed or polished, it was! It looks fantastic in the car, and sounds absolutely AMAZING rumbling through the killer looking exhaust system! Wiring and lines were done cleanly and neatly, modern radiator was hidden under a stock chrome grille with temp indicator topper, and everything looks and performs wonderfully. Moon gas tank up front has been sourced for the coolant overflow jug. A smoothed, narrowed, and custom fabricated FORD 9” rear end houses 3.73 gears, and has been painted and striped to match the rest of the car. Same with the rear brake drums, which work without issue. It starts with a twist of the key and a tap of the gas pedal, idles clean and smooth, and has no known issues with the engine or transmission. Snick the 350 Turbo trans into gear, and the gas pedal will take you wherever you want to go in a real hurry! It is an absolute BLAST to drive, and has MORE than enough power for shenanigans if that’s your cup of tea! Keep control of your right foot, and she will drive so smooth and straight, you’ll let your Grandma take the wheel! There is no odd pulling, wander or choppiness when driving. Ride is smooth and even. No pulling, excess fade, or modulation when braking. Tracks straight at speed. It has not leaked, wept, or dripped fluid in the past two weeks at the store, and from the exhaust manifold gaskets down to the plug wires still shows like a freshly built motor. It does NOT run hot at all. Taking it to the beach on a 98 degree day with stop and go traffic never made it creep over 191 degrees. Even stopped at idle for 10 minutes. The car has been driven on a few longer trips of 200 miles without issue by the prior owner, but spent most of its life in a trailer going from show to show. I have personally driven it about 45 miles, and find it to be one of the best handling and easy to drive rods we have had. I don’t kid when I say your Grandma could probably drive this thing, but if you want to get nuts, all it takes is a whack of the throttle, and you can get nuts with the best of them! The car has been stored in a climate-controlled warehouse, and can be entered into a show TODAY, as it sits, and will probably win a prize for something. If you are going to take to the National show level, I would recommend taking a weekend, your detail kit, and some elbow grease to give everything a quick show polish and clean before you go. Nothing is wrong with it, but polishing it up will make it look even nicer than it does. The prior owner used it almost daily to run around the two island communities, as well putting it into service for parades and special events. This truck is the PERFECT blend of reliability, old school cool, performance, and head turning good looks, and it is ready to go wherever you want to drive it. The body on the truck is SUPER solid and straight, as you can see from the 100 large photos showing the door jambs, undersides of fenders and doors, rockers, cab corners and everything else. There is NO sign of rust, rot, bondo panels, chicken wire, or crushed up cans on the truck, just all REAL STEEL from front to back. Gaps and fit and finish are all well above average, and certainly better than factory stock! Doors close properly, tail gate functions as it should, and the hood is adjusted to line up perfectly without any lift or gap anywhere. The glass on the truck is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage evident. Seals and rubber trim all look very good, and even the vent windows function like they should. There are some very minor little normal use blemishes on the truck, and I have highlighted them in the photos below next to a tape measure to show you how small they are. Tiny scuffs, stone chips, and light paint runs under the rockers that you can’t see unless the truck is on a lift are what I am talking about. There are NO large dents, dings, or damaged areas on the truck. The finish is rich Brandywine Metallic GM paint, and it looks really nice on the truck! Glossy, slick, and wet all the way around, with just a hint of sparkle in under the noon day sun! Other than the aforementioned minor blemishes, it shows really well, and is clean and straight too. Cab corners, rockers, fender rolls, rain gutter, door edges, and more are all clean, straight, and show no signs of rot and rust. Front and rear bumpers are in fantastic condition, and gleam brightly in the sun. Mirrors look good, as do the eyebrow light surrounds, tail light surrounds, side trim, antenna, wiper arms, tail gate chains, emblems, and badging. You may see light patina and signs of use, but they are fully serviceable. Door handles show light to medium wear and patina, as do the trim panels on the sides of the cab. The front grill looks great, but is starting to show patina and oxidation mainly on the bottom segment of it. If you are going to drive and enjoy the truck, I doubt these items would bother you, but if you want to take up to a full show truck level, you’ll want to address them eventually. The truck rides on 6-lug chrome wagon wheel style rims that look great from a distance, but do have oxidation and wear on the inner lip corner. Again, if you are going to keep driving and enjoying this truck it probably won’t matter, but to make it a show winner you’ll want to grab new wheels. Since wheels are such a personal thing, I thought it best to leave these on and let you pick your own. That being said, the rims are not bent, damaged, or anything else, and they are wrapped in GODODYEAR Workhorse Radial tires size LT235/75R15 rubber that has a good amount of safe tread remaining. Glass on the truck is crack, chip, and damage free, and doesn’t show any laminate issues either. All of the rubber trim, seals, and stripping looks really good too. The wood side rails go in the factory stake pockets and can be removed or installed by one person. The Sanibel Island lettering can be sanded off if you want to put something more personal on it. All the wood is in good condition, as is the hardware. Tail gate is rust and rot free, and opens and closes like it should. The tail gate chains do double duty keeping the gate shut when it is up, and holding it flat when it is down. Bed sides and wheel tubs are in great condition, with only normal marks from the truck actually being used as, well, a truck. No damage or disrepair to be found. The prior owner installed 3 large panels of weather treated wood, and used all the original hardware mounting points, to create a cleaner, easier to use bed that you can slide things in and out of easier than the narrower bands and aluminum strips. It is highly functional, looks great, and is super sturdy too. The exhaust tip peeking out of the driver side rear end is oxidized and pitted. I am including another new tip for you to install when you get the truck home. Overall, the outside the truck is clean enough that you can call it a show truck, take it any local or regional event, and probably even win a prize for something. Any little blemishes or items mentioned above are really inconsequential to the overall appearance of the truck. Pop open the hood and you are greeted by what is believed to be the original GM 292 inline straight 6 engine. The block numbers show it to be correct era and time. The engine runs so nice it will make you think it is 1965 all over again! The prior owner relied on this truck as a daily use vehicle on the islands, so it has been carefully maintained to be as reliable as it was when new. The engine has already had new gaskets, valve seals, most of the hoses, plugs, and more done in the last 8-10 months, and when we had the truck serviced and safety checked, they couldn’t find a thing that it needed. Engine bay is clean and presentable, and everything works like it should underneath the hood. Radiator is an OEM replacement unit less than a year old, and keeps the temps cool even in our hot Florida weather. Factory heat and defrost settings appear to work like they should, without issue. Not a lot of chrome or billet in this machine, just a nice looking breather. Everything else is more about functionality than good looks. When you get the truck home and take the time to degrease, detail, and clean the engine bay, it will look even nicer than it already does. Chassis on the truck is stock, clean, and solid. There is no sign of any rust, rot, or damage underneath, and the bare frame and pans are NOT covered in black spray on goop or anything else to hide stuff. You can see from the photos that only light oxidation resides on the bare metal, and that comes right off with a whisk of a wire brush. The rest of it is dirt and grime from being driven, but basically it is just a clean, straight, and well-kept chassis from front to back. Coil springs all the way around give the truck a nice smooth ride, without being to cushy. Cab and bed mounts are dirty, but appear functional and fine. Stock rear end gets power from the 292 via the original 2-speed powerglide transmission, which shifts great, and makes driving the truck a blast! Shift it into gear, and the truck is ready to roll! It gets up to speed pretty quick, and will hang with 70mph traffic all day long if you want it to! Driving it, I noticed that the speed was slow, so we checked it with GPS Navigation and found that the speedometer is 8 mph slower than reality, so 62 on the speedo is actually 70 in real life. Keep that mind when you’re out cruising! The truck handles great, steers great, and really truly is a capable daily driver that feels as solid as it must have in 1965! I have personally driven the truck about 120 miles, and it is a BLAST! It is fun to pass people on the freeway in an old truck , and it is nice to hear all the requests to take a picture of it anytime you stop. Opening up the doors reveals a stock style interior that is clean, and ready for you and your passengers. Door panels have OEM style arm rests, door pulls, and windows rollers, and look great! Dash is clean, straight, and painted to match, with a functional instrument panel showing TEMP, DC, FUEL, and OIL PRESSURE. Underneath that you will find the switchgear for the headlamps, electric wipers, and the functional choke to the left of the column, while the key switch and cigar lighter reside to on the right. Heat and defrost controls work as they should, and the ashtray opens and closes like it should along with the glove box. Factory radio is in the truck, but stopped working about 3 years ago. I do not know why. The prior owner installed a newer AM/FM Cassette player in a custom enclosure under the dash, and it sounds great through the modern kick panel mounted speakers. The bench seat has been fully recovered and sprung in the past 2 years, and it is comfortable, clean, and looks amazing! Dual visors and rear view mirror look great, as does the dome light. Steering column is painted to match, and topped with an original wheel in very good condition. Signals work, as does the PRNDL selector on top of it. Carpet is new from just a few years ago, and still looks fantastic in the truck. It was installed over a layer of insulating and heat proofing material. Gas and brake pedals are clean and utilitarian in style, and the E-Brake appears to function as it should as well. The whole interior is just a really clean and nice place to command this machine from, and will make your passengers happy too! That about sums it up! It is so clean, glossy, slick, and wet, you would think it just came out of the spray gun! The finish really is mirror-like, as you can see in the photos, and the entire car was painted off the frame including the pans for a super clean finished product. After 1,700 odd miles, it may show a tiny little stone chip, scuff, or minor blemish that ANY car would have, but there are NO dents, NO dings, NO large chips, and NO real issues with the finish whatsoever. Any minor marks are less than a few millimeters in size, and are inconsequential to the overall appearance of the car. The cream white roof shows just a perfectly, and really gives the car a completed look. The body is VERY straight, with no sign of patch panels, bondo, chicken wire, or beer cans to be found. All of the gaps are nice, and everything closes and opens well too. There is NO sign of rust or rot on the car, and you can run a 3x3 magnet over the entire painted surface and it will stick like glue. The bright work, trim, and chrome on the car is in fantastic condition, and shows shiny and bright from every angle. Emblems are in very good condition, and are original to the car for an added bonus! The custom grill looks amazing behind the bumperettes, and really gives the car a clean look. Glass, and there is PLENTY of it, is either new or like-new all the way around, along with all the associated rubber trim, mouldings, fuzzies, regulators, and trim. The car has a fantastic stance thanks to dropped spindles and springs, and it rides on massive 17 inch VISION Wheels Legend series show-chromed 5 spoke rims that still look like new after just 1,700 miles. They are wrapped up in NEXEN Radial L3000 radial tires size 235/45ZR17 up front and 245/45ZR17 in the back. The tires are in perfect condition, with no damage or wear issues. Overall, the exterior of this car is a solid 8.25 out of 10. Once you get it home and detail it to get all the nooks and crannies, it will be a solid 9 in every way! Under the hood, the car gets power from a completely rebuilt GM 350ci V8 motor that was redone from the cast iron block with dual valves, aluminum heads, roller rockers, mild street cam, and all the best in pro-level components throughout. The car was built for long-haul reliability and ease of maintenance and upkeep, so it is not a radical, high horsepower build. I would estimate that the car has somewhere in the low 300hp range from seat of the pants feel, but it has never been formally dyno tested. It starts with a flip of the key, idles cleanly, and is ready to roll at a moments notice. It is equipped with a Edelbrock 650cfm square flange carb with non-egr electric choke, so power comes on smooth and sure. The car also has plenty of guts on tap for burnouts and other cruise night shenanigans if that is your cup of tea. The 700R4 overdrive automatic snicks into gear with ease, and the car accelerates cleanly and smoothly up to speed. The overdrive is set up perfectly on the car, and works with the GM 8.5 inch 10 bolt rear ends highway-friendly gearing to allow triple digit cruising speeds without much of a fuss. This is the kind of car you can take to the local cruise night, or run it on the Hot Rod Power Tour just as easily. The engine bay itself is super clean, and ready for a car show with a chrome compressor, brake booster, alternator, and radiator shroud all gleaming and bright, PLUS a ton of billet including flame cut valve covers, ball-milled air cleaner, and MARCH Performance pulleys! Firewall, inner fenders, and a whole lot more is either painted in Sunset Red Metallic, black, or has been powdercoated. All of the other components are top quality pieces, and they work together to provide a reliable and issue-free powertrain for your peace of mind. A new CPP power steering rack makes turning a breeze, with steering feel as nice as a new car. Vintage supplied EVERY PART of the heating and Air Conditioning system from the condenser, evaporator, and lines all the way to the OEM style dash control. It all works together PERFECTLY to provide whatever you need at the slide of a lever. The engine bay looks fantastic, and like the rest of the car is only a formal detail away from being a trophy winner! The car does not leak, weep, or otherwise mark its territory, and it has been driven over 1,700 miles in a mix of highway and local driving since completion with only the minor little adjustments all fresh cars need the first few hundred miles. I would not hesitate to fly in and drive this car home anywhere in the lower 48, as I feel more than confident it would make the trip. It does NOT run hot, thanks to a gigantic, custom made aluminum radiator with extra-large transmission cooler, supersize fan, and well thought out design. The car pretty much lives at 188 degrees, and in my time with it can say it has never gone over that, even running in the hot sun for 40 minutes while I took all the pictures. It just does NOT GET HOT. The engine makes no odd noises, and exhibits no sign of any issues. Transmission operates flawlessly, and shows no sign of any issues either. The chassis on the car is a mix of old and new, with original frame rails mated to a full custom front end with tubular upper and lower control arms, drop spindles, front disc brakes, and coil-overs up front, and the aforementioned GM 10-bolt with shocks, rear drums, and lowering springs out back. The frame, front end components, and drive shaft are black, while the rest of it has been sprayed in the same gorgeous Sunset Red Metallic as the top of the car! After being driven 1,700 miles, the chassis does show some stone chips, marks, dirt, and grime, but like the rest of the car, it will detail out to look even nicer than it already does. There is a good bit of chrome and shiny stuff on the underside, and it all looks really good as you can see in the photos of the car on the lift. Custom aluminum exhaust system sounds fantastic through the REAL Flowmaster mufflers, and it has throaty rumble that tells everyone they better turn and see what is coming. No expense was spared in making sure that the car started, drove, handled, and stopped just as good as it looked, and it certainly does. It rides super nice, with the perfect blend of cushy ride and handling prowess. It handles like C5 Corvette, with great feel in the wheel, and no odd wander or tracking issues. Brakes drag the car down from speed with no pulling, wander, or excessive fade. Overall, it is a super nice set up, and will make the next owner VERY happy. Kind of saved the best for the last, because the interior of this wagon is just beautiful from front to back! First, while the car was completely apart, everything was painted in the same Sunset Red Metallic finish as the exterior, then treated to layers of sound and heat proofing before anything else was done. Next, new carpet went in, and it still looks fantastic today. Seats were completely redone in neutral hides, with custom front buckets and rear bench, all trimmed to work with one another. Front seats move fore and aft, and have easy-access flip forward arms to allow ease of access for back seat passengers. With plenty of room for everyone, the car can ACTUALLY HOLD FIVE ADULTS in comfort, which is a rarity in most classics. There are no signs of any damage, rips, or issues on the upholstery, and it shows wonderfully from all angles. Seat belts are included for safety sake, and they function like they should. The custom fabricated center console is beautiful to look at and has a large storage space under the arm rest, twin cup holders, the center A/C vents, and the giant 7 inch control screen for the stereo system. More on it later! Custom under-dash panels to the left and right house additional A/C vents, and lend the car a polished look. Dash itself is original steel, but has been fitted with a custom ball-milled billet aluminum dash insert that carries a large AutoMeter PRO COMP series Speedometer with trip and odometer on the left, and a matching tachometer on the right. A carbon fiber style center band runs the horizon of the dash, and is fitted with the rest of the matching gauges for WATER, OIL, FUEL, and VOLTS. All appear to be functioning as they should. The OEM style clock is non-functional, but looks fantastic and is set at 5 so you can always run out for a quick beer! A GM style iDidit chrome column looks perfect in the car, and has chrome shift arm, turn signal and tilt levers, top mount gear selection indicator, and is topped with a LeCarra style billet wheel wrapped in complimenting leather. OEM controls remain in place for the headlamps, electric wipers, ignition switch, and A/C controls, while the ashtray opens to show the button for the back-up camera. Kick panels, door panels, and rear valance panels get the same luxurious upholstery, and it all looks fantastic in the car. Custom LED bar lights were installed under the dash to light the foot wells up front, and they look amazing, especially at night! Door panels stay clean thanks to hidden power window switches, so all you see up front are the speakers with silver surrounds, and the OEM style door opener and vent window roller. Two more speakers grace the back seat side panels, with a couple more hidden in the car. The system sounds AMAZING!!!!!! The 7 inch Power AkoustiK display panel fills the center console nicely, and lets you choose from NAVIGATION, Bluetooth audio, AM-FM, streaming audio, and more, and provides the largest back-up camera view I have ever seen! It is easy to figure out, all touch screen capable, and comes with a wireless remote for the backseat drivers in your world! Sound is crisp, clean, and so full that you would swear you were at a concert when you play your favorite song! The visors, headliner, and rear view mirror are all OEM style, and look fantastic in the car! The functional clamshell doors at the back of the car open to reveal a ton of storage space, including the empty spare tire well with cover. Use it for what you‘d like, as it has PLENTY of room.
