With only 14,228 this has to be one of the cleanest XLR-V’s in the country. Usually known for luxury models that focused on ride comfort, plush interiors, and easy drivability; developing a sports roadster was quite a tangent for Cadillac. The XLR-V is a true roadster with the benefits of a hardtop coupe. The retractable hard-top was a joint development project between Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche. There were no options offered on the V model; since every normal XLR option was included to the V series. Coming standard with the normal XLR was heated/cooled leather seats, Bose stereo system, 7” navigation/DVD touch screen, and keyless entry. Beyond those features Cadillac’s tuning department, referred to as V, got ahold of the car and made it into a true sports roadster. Starting with the completely reworked 4.4L supercharged Northstar V-8 that makes 442hp and 414lb-ft; this was accomplished by increasing the compression to 9:1, stronger piston heads, and four intercoolers to help cool the roots style supercharger. To handle the increased horsepower, the suspension was stiffened with thicker sway-bars, springs, and Cadillacs all-new Magnetic Ride Control. To make sure onlookers know that this XLR has been tuned by V’s engineers a wire mesh grill, more aggressive front bumper and spoiler, wider fender-flares, and many V and Supercharged badges were added. Also setting the V apart from the normal XLR was the addition of larger 19” chrome wheels that were necessary to clear the large cross-drilled brakes borrowed from the Corvette. We just obtained this stunning two-owner XLR-V from a meticulous owner who had traded it in for a 1964 Ford Thunderbird we had in our inventory. Since there are only 14,288 miles on this XLR-V it is in spectacular condition. The paint is in fantastic condition with a few very minor flaws, but shows extremely well. There are no dents or door dings to be found, the wheels are the same and have never been curbed. The interior is the same story, the leather shows a little wear and the Alcantara inserts look and feel great. Even the user interface buttons do not show any wear marks as well as the steering wheel. With such few miles the 4.4L supercharged engine is barely broken-in, it pulls hard and smooth. This XLR-V is a very unique sports car that has the ability to be driven as a daily driver or to show only for special occasions. Know as the “Japanese Corvette” the 280zx Turbo was an engineering pinnacle, boasting powerful performance, wrapped in a sexy, smooth body design and an ultra comfortable interior, with almost no extra cost options, as they came loaded with features. Over the years the Z went from a small no frills little sports car, to a highly polished and powerful GT tourer. The turbocharged 280ZX used a single Garrett AiResearch TB03 with an internal wastegate, and no intercooler. Nissan’s design philosophy at the time led to boost being limited to 6.8 psi (0.47 bar), despite the lowered compression of the turbo engine (7.4:1 with dished, cast aluminum pistons). Additional changes over the naturally aspirated engine included a higher volume oil pump, an oil cooler on automatic models, and Nissan’s Electronic Concentrated Control System (ECCS). Series II and Series I. At the time of its release into the US market, the 280ZX turbo was the fastest Japanese import on the American market. Which brings us to our Z. The exterior is very nice. The body, refinished in the original Fox Silver base/clear paint, and reproduction “turbo” graphics have been applied in their original locations. The body is free from dings and dents, the doors, hatch and hood all fit correctly. All of the glass is clear and crack free. The body on this car looks fantastic and doesn’t show its age. Moving under the Z, the area where most Z cars suffer, you will find a VERY dry and clean bottom. The rails have not been crushed from lifting it on racks over the years, which is very common to see and weakens the structure of the Z. This is one of the most solid Z car chassis we have seen in a while! The interior is unbelievable! The factory grey Velour seats are present and hardly look as if they have been sat in. The door cards are clean and the vinyl is not cracked or split on the top door rail, where they are most commonly worn. The dash and center console are clean, and all the buttons, switches, and gauges look great. the factory silver face radio is not worn out, but does not work at this time. The grey carpets, even on the drivers floor board, are not crushed down, and dirty from years of entering and exiting the car. In the hatch you will find the carpet is not shrunken, and the luggage tie downs, and t-top bags are present. Original owner and warranty booklets included. In all this is a very nice 280Z. Edsel Ford’s adventurous spirit manifested in a number of outstanding Ford products, one of the most notable of which was the Lincoln Zephyr, one of the most successful collaborations between the artistically minded Edsel and his designer of choice, Bob Gregorie. Aero design was proliferating in the Art Deco period in everything from trains to appliances, but most automotive efforts were rejected by the public due to their inherent clumsiness. Not the Zephyr, which in its initial form showed rare unity of design. First planned as a rear-engine layout, the Zephyr finally emerged with a V-12 adaptation of Ford’s flathead V-8, with identical stroke but reduced piston area. The V-12 received numerous technical improvements over its service life, and later models such as this 1948 Zephyr cabriolet were some of the smoothest-running cars on the road. Founded in 1917 and bought by long-term owner Ford Motor Company in 1922, Lincoln became one of America’s finest luxury automobile manufactures. Unable to sell high-end automobiles under the Ford name, Henry Ford began his luxury car ambitions with his newly acquired Lincoln Motor Company. The KA-Series was the first all new model under their new ownership with Ford. Striving to compete with the competition of Peerless, Packard, Pierce-Arrow, Duesenberg, and most importantly Cadillac the KA-Series had to be a new standard for American luxury automobiles and so it was. Powered by a remodel 385” flat-head V-8 from the previous L-Series it produced 125hp; the all new Stromberg dual-barrel down draft carburetor and re-machined heads allowed Ford’s engineers to obtain the power increase. To complement the revised engine Lincoln set other industry standards by using new “fork-an-blade” engine rods, an 3 piece cast iron block, “torque-tube drive” transmission, floating rear axle, “worm-and-roller” steeling, hydraulic shocks, mechanical fuel pump, and finally to complete these improvements an entirely new stronger chassis. However these improvements didn’t come cheap, with an original price of $3300 before options it was unobtainable for most of Americans. MotoeXotica’s 1932 KA Lincoln is a beautiful surviving example of Henry Ford’s ambitions of producing luxury automobiles. Originally owned by a California gentleman, and then sold to a Ford & Lincoln dealer in San Diego who performed a frame-off restoration for display in the dealership. We believe the restoration and display was performed at now defunct City Ford & Lincoln in San Diego, although there is no definitive proof. Its California history continued with use in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Parade ceremony as a parade car for athletes. Post parade it was then placed in climate controlled storage, until the owners decided to sell. Still in the deep wine paint with burnt red accents and pin striping, the car looks stunning. Overall the paint is in great condition, with the only issue being hairline stress cracks on both rear passenger suicide door hinges. Exterior chrome is, also, in great condition showing no signs of its true age. Murray’s coachwork body panels are straight and show no signs of dents or scratches, as well as, the vinyl roof material. Grabbing attention first the original Gorham Silversmith’s Greyhound hood ornament is in perfect condition; truly setting this Lincoln off from the anything else on the road. Sure to move other motorists clear of its path the booming horn serves its purpose; along with functioning running lights, high beams, taillights, and windshield wipers. Continuing the elegance of the exterior, tan cloth seats, door panels, and carpets fill the car in warmth and are in great condition too. Every accessory functions and looks almost as good as when originally driven off the showroom floor. A Waltham clock inlaid into the fully functioning art deco dash cluster reminds the driver what era this car was manufactured in. Surrounding the occupants handmade wood accents and trim adds heritage to the interior, as well as, it is in ideal condition. Mechanically sound in all functions, the flat-head V-8 has no problem matching today’s traffic conditions with grace. Easily gliding through the three forward gears, with first and second used for low speed and third as an overdrive for highway cruising. Stopping all 5,435lbs takes some time and confidence but the oversize mechanical drum brakes allows the driver to build confidence after some seat time with in the car. This particular truck has undergone a professional and comprehensive restoration, sat in a museum for many years, is in turn-key condition and ready to go! This truck is rarely seen, has a brand new dump box, a powerful 221 Ford Flathead V8, 4-speed manual transmission and a floor starter. This truck is ready for its next adventure! The body of this clean truck is very solid and straight. The truck has been finished in black with a yellow pinstripe accenting the contours and lines of the truck. The paint is in great condition, showing only minor imperfections. The dump box is brand new and ready to do whatever it is that you need it to do – but it looks like it has been hauling cotton balls! The front grill has been painted the same yellow as the wheels and pinstripes and it looks awesome. It adds just a bit of contrast to the black paint. There is still a little bit of chrome on the truck and it looks great with a brilliant shine. This truck is very clean and fresh! Inside, the bench seat is wrapped with black vinyl and it looks great. The seat shows no signs of major imperfection or wear. The door panels, floor panel and dashboard all look great. The Imperial had a special engine and longer wheelbase, with various panels stretched to fit; a variety of custom coaches were available on these expensive, high-end cars, all of which had chrome chevrons on the fenders, and model names in script on the hubcaps and above the grille. A series of Custom Imperials, essentially stretched versions of the Imperial, were made in both five and seven passenger forms, in some cases farmed out to custom coach makers. Chrysler’s slogan was “You get the good things first from Chrysler” and in many cases it was true, as the company was well ahead in innovation at this time. The 1938 Imperial was a thrilling motorcar if there ever was one. Powered with a new bigger engine than previously found in other cars, The straight-eight engine used a conventional L-head, and displaced a modest 299 cubic inches, with a standard 6.2:1 compression ratio putting down a beastly 110 HP, the highest found in their motorcars at that time. This car was engineered to take any road in stride. With the advantage of a 125 inch wheelbase, and an “Airflow” principle of balanced weight, independently sprung front wheels and Hydraulic shock absorbers, this Chrysler rode like a dream, and ours RIDES like a dream…. This takes us back to 1996, where two brothers, happened across one nice and complete 1938 Chrysler Imperial Touring sedan. It was packed in a yard, mixed in with some other classics. It was in nice shape, retained all of the original hard to find parts, and was virtually rust free. So after some small talk and a negotiation or two later, the big Sedan was loaded on a trailer, waiting its rebirth. So the long haul started and the 38 was taken back to the shop, where it was completely dismantled down to the frame. The driveline was pulled and the frame and body were prepared for blasting, and paint. The engine was disassembled, rebuilt, and repainted. Meticulous care went into making sure everything was in order, even the lines and wiring in the engine bay was sorted through. All the engine accessories were also repainted to correctly match. Months later, the engine was finally re united with the now bead blasted and painted frame and suspension components, and the beautifully refinished Body adorned with Jet Black paint. Several more months of interior work was completed, including refinished seats and interior components, such as the carpet, door handles, dash knobs, and bright metalwork. The restoration was a lengthy one and the car was rolled out in August of 1997 and driven under it own power in years.
