From the stalwart C-Series to the hardcore Raptor, every iteration of 'Built Ford Tough' has transformed a solid clientele of buyers into a devout following of gearheads. Over the past few years, we've featured plenty of vintage, ground-pounding blue ovals, and this sleek '49 resto-mod is just the latest in a series of sweet F-Series head turners. Mixing a tweaked Windsor and tough C6 3-speed with bodywork that'll sit well at any car show, this road-ready warrior is worthy of EVERY Ford fan's full attention. If you're shopping for a clean classic that mixes modern detailing with purposeful simplicity, take a close look at this slick F1! A mostly solid work truck that hails from Oregon, this super cool pickup recently received a roof-to-rocker makeover that was completed in the fall of 2012. That body-off reboot started with a through sandblasting, which lead to repaired floorpans and reworked running boards. With those minor rust issues addressed, Tom Phillips Woodworks of Ashland, Oregon bolted up some hand-rubbed Hickory sideboards. Then the truck traveled to Carrs Auto Body in Gold Hill, Oregon where a clean coat of BMW Bronzit 2-stage was completely color-sanded and carefully buffed. And today, that pigment's combination of excellent reflections and Kansas-flat surfaces showcases a subdued and sophisticated classic that's essentially timeless. Not surprisingly, this awesome Ford's first rate detailing highlights both its solid form and smoothed lines. At the front of the truck, a vented hood rides above bold "F O R D" lettering, a chrome, Ford-branded grille and clean halogen headlights. At the sides of that grille, a pinstriped profile hangs simple "F1" emblems below twisting door handles and arced mirrors. At the top of that profile, tinted glass rides between electronic windshield wipers, a custom Center High Mount Stop Lamp and a stainless-trimmed, Hickory bed. And at the back of that bed, a striped and "Ford" branded tailgate hangs above polished taillights and a small chrome bumper. Toss the truck's lightweight hood and you'll find a 351 cubic inch Windsor crate motor that creates a stout 325 horsepower. Wholly appropriate, since the cast iron Windsor is well known for its rugged durability, this hot rod was built to tow AND haul! At the top of the proven mill, a polished Edelbrock carburetor rides under a clean K&N X-Stream air filter. Below that carburetor, a coated Edelbrock Performer RPM intake anchors a high quality MSD Pro-Billet distributor between polished Ford Racing valve covers and loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. And, below those wires, heat-wrapped shorties funnel spent gases in to a 3-inch exhaust system while a color-keyed Walker radiator cycles water around March pulleys and an electric puller fan. As you can see, the thoroughly massaged engine bay wears matching Bronzit skin. All the motor's ancillary components, from its MSD coil and Lokar throttle linkage to its braided fluid lines and American Autowire wiring, are high quality aftermarket pieces. And, if you're a sucker for the details, the truck's airbrushed battery box is an enduringly cool touch. During its youth, this classic spent most days living outside and working hard. So, when the time came for rebirth, the truck was a prime candidate for thorough modernization. Nowhere is that theme more evident than under the skin. The 351's power flows from a kitted C6 3-speed to a sturdy Strange 9-inch that's fitted with a limited-slip differential and beefy 3.73 gears. That familiar drivetrain pushes a professionally boxed and braced chassis on gas shocks and traditional leaf springs. Tracking is provided by a Total Cost Involved front clip, which benefits from gas shocks, power rack-and-pinion steering and 2-inch drop spindles. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to power-assisted discs at all four corners. At the center of the floor, custom, 3-inch exhaust, which along with the truck's fuel tank was built by Medford's own Allin Specialties Cars & Automotive, breathes through a throaty Magnaflow muffler. And, at the corners of the chassis, Wheel Vintiques steelies twist 255/50R17 Yokohama S/Ts in front of 275/60R17 Yokohama S/Ts. When you pop this pickup's doors, you'll find a stylish and comfortable cockpit that was detailed by Greg's Upholstery in Grants Pass, Oregon. Top dead center, a clean dash hangs Auto Meter telemetry above well-integrated ducting for modern air conditioning. In front of that dash, a cushy Glide seat, which features a folding armrest, wears a supple ultraleather hide. At the sides of that seat, ultraleather door panels anchor traditional chrome handles above tidy pulls. Under those panels, clean carpet founds color-keyed floor mats beneath Lokar foot pedals and a familiar Lokar shifter. Opposite that carpet, a tweed headliner stretches tight behind a polished mirror and matching sun visors. And in front of the driver, a tilting column spins a Carrera banjo-style steering wheel. The sale of this gentrified workhorse includes an album of restoration photos, a 2012 appraisal from Auto Appraisal Network, a showboard, a vinyl bed floor cover and a complete car cover. Perpetually cool and visually stunning, this awesome Ford is a classic example of the skill and creativity that defines our hobby. With its clean craftsmanship and excellent asking price, it presents the rare opportunity to land a well-done trophy winner that doubles as a well-done road warrior. And, by the looks of it, this incredible Ford F100 is the result of one man's vision, one shop's determination and one very big check. To the layman, this classic might look like a simple, brightly colored pickup. But, in reality, virtually every single component on the truck has been modified or altered in some way. Its body is a smooth combination of solid steel and vivid GM paint. Its drivetrain mixes 460 cubic inches of big block power with a tough automatic transmission. And its interior wraps custom paneling in supple leather trim. Whether you're a diehard Ford guy, or just an enlightened gearhead who appreciates killer design, top-notch custom work, and a polished and powerful drivetrain, this spectacular Effie is just your style! BODYWORK/TRIM As far as popularity goes, no truck has a larger following than Ford's storied F-Series. And '50s F-Series, models that enjoy one of the largest aftermarket support bases in the classic car hobby, are some of the most attractive trucks ever built. Making the best of that era's curvy proportions and a '56-exclusive cab design, this F100 seals hours of impressive labor under slick GM Raspberry Pearl pigment and sophisticated, multi-color stripes. That wet looking 2-stage highlights a laser-straight body, the result of an intense restoration that involved ample fine-tuning. That clean body's top-notch metalwork is, from the outside of its panels, completely undetectable. And today, this custom rolls as a vivid, fully sorted head turner! Introduced as a 1-year only design, Ford's venerable 'big window' F100 has become one of the most desirable and collectible trucks on the planet. Additionally, its clean profile and sinuous form make it the perfect candidate for the kind of skillful customization you see here. At the front of the truck, a chromed and shaved grille hangs bright halogen headlights above painted, mail slot parking lamps, and a painted and tucked bumper. Behind that grille, a smoothed and shaved hood leads the eye to dark-tint glass that's founded at a filled cowl, cleared by correct windshield wipers, and reflected in tinted and body-matched mirrors. At the sides of that glass, shaved doors cap a familiar profile that's finished with massaged running boards and wide rear fenders. At the center of that profile, a custom tonneau stretches sculpted leather over a smoothed, wood-floored bed that anchors two nitrous tanks in front of a polished fuel cell, a polished battery box and a polished storage box. And at the back of that bed, a custom, swing-away tailgate shades a custom roll pan that features clean mail slot taillights. ENGINE While Ford's trusty Y-block is a good engine that provides a solid ownership experience, this F100's high quality restoration includes high quality upgrades. And those high quality upgrades begin with 460 cubic inches of big block V8: a set-up that served duty as the F-Series' top option mill for many years. The motor's energy mixture is supplied by a big Holley carburetor, which is threaded onto polished fluid lines, a liquid-filled Summit pressure gauge, braided Russell feeds and a reliable Mallory regulator. That decked and coated 4-barrel rides between a polished air cleaner, a coated intake and polished and painted valve covers that sport cool MQQN Equipment breathers. At the front of those valve covers, a proven MSD distributor sequences fire through loomed Accel Ferro-Spiral Race Wires. That fire is kept in check by a beefy, color-keyed radiator, which is mated to a polished shroud that frames a large, color-keyed pulley fan. A polished serpentine system spins a chrome alternator, modern power steering and modern air conditioning while spent gases float through wide, hand-fabricated headers. And, in case Ford monster block motivation simply won't do, there's a complete NOS Powershot system that's bolted, wired and ready blow. Aesthetically, vivid GM Raspberry Pearl paint ensures the truck is more than just a random curbside attraction. And details like polished fluid reservoirs, an array of chrome hardware and a trick, forward-tilt hood are sure to attract plenty of adoring fans. DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Behind that ferocious big block, a stout C6 3-speed spins a hearty aluminum driveshaft, which twists a narrowed Currie 9-inch that's complete with an aluminum center section and tall, 4.11 gears. That first-class drivetrain is held off the ground by a thoroughly massaged chassis, which, along with solid floors, has been bathed in the same stripes and raspberry color scheme as the truck's smooth exterior panels. At the front of that chassis, a Heidts Superide suspension utilizes power rack-and-pinion steering, polished tubular control arms and familiar RideTech shocks to combine a pleasant ride with a good stance. At the back of that chassis, a polished 4-link utilizes modern coil-over-shocks to provide drag strip worthy launches. Serious stops to counter the truck's serious power come courtesy of four vented discs and four polished, power-assisted calipers. The aforementioned headers feed an H-shaped crossover, polished, glasspack-style mufflers and fully polished side-exit pipes. And all that muscle rides on slick Coys wheels, which roll 26x8.00R18 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs in front of 31x18.00R20 Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs. With a beefy drivetrain that's supplemented with ancillaries like Wilwood brake components, a deep-sump oil pan, stainless fluid lines and high quality Mallory fuel components, this Ford is the real deal. And with the kind of detailing that includes, among other things, body-matched, undercoated wheel wells, it'll fare well at any show you chose to attend! INTERIOR Climb inside this F100's supple cockpit and you'll find a custom leather interior that's an exercise in style and solitude. Front and center, an extended, body-matched dash founds simple Auto Meter telemetry beneath a prominent Auto Meter Sport-Comp memory tach. Opposite that dash, supple buckets stretch pliable leather under color-keyed seatbelts. Between those seats, a custom console centers a nitrous-enhanced shifter behind a modern Alpine head unit, controls for a Vintage Air climate system and buttons for the truck's RideTech air bags. At the bottom of that console, premium carpet frames custom kick panels, billet foot pedals and a chrome fire extinguisher. At the edges of that carpet, bold door panels tuck hidden handles and small puddle lamps inside fully striped jambs. And the driver stays connected to the road through a tilting column that spins a sweet Lecarra steering wheel. DOCUMENTATION Our sale includes two small filing cabinets of that are comprised of:Restoration photosRestoration receiptsComponent paperwork Customs like this super cool Ford continue to prove that trucks are rapidly transcending from working-class hot rods to choice trophy winners. It takes vision, time, skill, talent, dedication and a wheel barrel full of dollars to finish a vehicle of this caliber. That said; this Ford's construction cost was probably double our asking price. And at this level, there's simply no comparison to garden-variety hot rods. About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. The only problem is that market prices have skyrocketed lately. So the value price already makes this 1966 Ford F-100 attractive even before you inspect its stellar condition. First off, this white paint with red accents gives off a feeling that's mixture of tradesman's ride and classic hot rod. Because this one doesn't show a lifetime of working 9 to 5, you can really see the intricate sheetmetal that came on these vintage pickups. Ford did an amazing job in '66 with a little fender flare in the front, power dome hood, and the sporty appearance of the flareside bed. Plus, the red wheels do a great job of conveying an aggressive attitude, without betraying this F-100's vintage nature. There isn't an overload of brightwork, so you instantly take in the details like the badging, and side mirror. As cool as this pickup looks, it's not afraid to still roll up its sleeves and get dirty. That's why the wood bed floor has been replaced with clean, tough steel, and the whole area has been treated with lining paint. Open the door and you'll find a bench seat covered in a cool red and black pattern that helps set the mood for the entire interior. The door panels and rubber floor are a nice black that doesn't really show dirt, and the dash is given a nice aggressive red touch. Even with this modern combination, there are still great vintage touches like the classic Ford steering wheel, and clear original speedometer package. You can take your friends around in comfort with the heat/defrost, and knob-style AM/FM stereo. But you'll be the one enjoying everything the most because your right hand will never leave the hot rod style shifter. The VIN will tell you this should be powered by a 240 cubic-inch inline six cylinder motor, and that's exactly what you'll find under the hood. For those disappointed that this isn't a V8 truck, you really should experience what a torquy 3.9-liter motor feels like. It has potent presence, especially since you have complete control of the powerband thanks to the three-speed manual transmission. The engine bay even looks kind of cool with the block's upright dark appearance, and the aggressive red accents. But more importantly this motor fires up without hesitation, and power steering means it's easy to take down the road. In fact, with its GVWR at 5,000 lbs and trailer hitch, this Ford can even be a very cool and distinct way to tow some toys. This is your opportunity to pay a little and get a lot. Vintage pickups are hot, but this well-sorted and stylish F-100 is well within any budget. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1953 Ford F100 Pickup Truck Frame Off Built F-100 Pickup 5.0 Liter V8 C6 3 Speed Automatic A/C PS Year: 1953 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Black Mileage: 2590 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 5.0 Liter Interior color: Tan Vehicle Info SUMMARY5.0 liter Ford V8C6 3-speed automatic transmissionCustom interiorVintage Air conditioning20-inch Billet Specialties Vintec wheelsPower rack-and-pinion steeringPower front disc and rear drum brakesUpgraded suspensionOak bed / Power-operated tonneau Want a super cool cruiser that's ready to roll? How about one with some of the best vintage styling ever draped over two doors and four tires? If the answer is a resounding "YES", this 1953 Ford F100 is exactly the classic you've been searching for! With its reliable small block, smooth automatic transmission and rich black on tan color combination, this custom is an ideal platform for anyone who enjoys exploring the open road. If you're looking to add a little spice to your weekend routine, here's the perfect way to take Sunday drives to a whole new level! BODYWORK/TRIM Sporting a somewhat pontoon design and classic good looks, the father of Ford's legendary F-Series has always been a highly desirable line of trucks. And not surprisingly, gearheads, customizers and 60 years' worth of fans have elevated it to one of hot rodding's greatest cultural icons. With the help of a frame-off restoration, conducted sometime in the not too distant past, this second generation pickup has been transformed into one smooth-driving cruiser. That rebuild began with shoring up the truck's steel and fiberglass fuselage. Once that solid profile was married to a fresh Oak bed, deep black base was dressed in mirror-like clear. And today, this classy hot rod is one sizzling classic that looks cool, performs well and drives great! Since we're talking aesthetics, I'll go ahead and point out the finer details of this Ford's notable reboot. Up front, a painted grille hangs a familiar "V8" emblem and modern headlights above a minimalist bumper and chrome-trimmed parking lamps. Above that grille, a domed hood floats cool ornamentation in front of smoked glass that's seated behind polished wipers and a power antenna. At the sides of that hood, a monochromatic profile centers chrome door handles and stylized lock cylinders between classy mirrors and a polished, low-mount fuel filler. And at the back of that profile, a power-operated tonneau shades a red-lined tailgate, blue dot taillights and a second minimalist bumper. ENGINE 'Keep it simple' is a good philosophy when it comes to performance and reliability. And the builders of this clean classic did exactly that by equipping the truck with Ford's storied 5.0 liter small block. At the top of the fully sorted mill, a polished and finned air cleaner funnels oxygen in to a coated Edelbrock Magneti Marelli carburetor. That 4-barrel rides between a polished fuel filter, a chrome Accel Super Stock coil and a burly Edelbrock Performer 289 intake. That intake pushes air and fossils through factory Ford heads that are capped with polished and ball-milled valve covers. At the front of those heads, an aftermarket points distributor fires pliable 7mm plug wires, which snake around polished looms and coated Sanderson headers. At the base of that distributor, a polished Powermaster alternator spins opposite a high quality Sanden AC compressor. And at the front of those ancillaries, a corrugated hose drains a large aluminum radiator that's backed by a large electric puller fan. Aesthetically, the bright orange engine rides in a super clean bay that's finished to the same level as the truck's glossy, monochromatic exterior. And nice pieces like a polished breather, chrome dipsticks, polished brace bars and polished fluid reservoirs provide the perfect amount of visual punch! DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION Every good hot rod has a solid foundation. Flip this Ford upside down and you'll find a roster of mechanical improvements that mix classic looks with modern mobility. At the center of the floors, a smooth C6 3-speed spins likable, road-ready gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a thoroughly rebuilt suspension frames power rack-and-pinion steering in a modern Mustang II front-clip and KYB Excel-G shock absorbers. Power front disc and rear drum brakes are a welcome addition and big performance upgrade. There's an impressive dual exhaust system that employs throaty turbo mufflers. And everything rides on stylish Billet Specialties Vintecs, which twist 245/35ZR20 Capitol Sport UHPs in front of 275/40ZR20 Capitol Sport UHPs. INTERIOR Inside the truck, a custom cockpit is primed for either open road tripping or parking lot posing. Front and center, a body-matched, billet-trimmed dash hangs slick digital telemetry beside Vintage Air climate control. Opposite that dash, a plush bench seat looks wide enough to sit three. At the bottom of that seat, clean California Carpet anchors a low-profile console at the base of a trick billet shifter. At the edges of that carpet, pleated side panels hang small pulls and polished handles in front of modern power windows. Above those panels, a sculpted headliner frames a polished mirror, custom cab trim and a manual dome lamp. And the driver stays connected to the road through a polished and tilting column that spins a sweet Billet Specialties Lecarra steering wheel. It doesn't matter whether you're a Ford guy, MoPar guy or Chevy guy, this classic F100 transcends barriers and claims universal appeal. The truck's great looks, great performance and great color combo all add up to a great cruiser that can be driven and shown every day of the summer. Indulge as is, or tinker with it to make it sharper, either way you'll have a timeless hot rod that enjoys excellent curb appeal! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final. This is exactly why we created the RKM Performance Center. Being proud members of SEMA, ARMO, HRIA and the North Carolina Motorsports Association, the RKM Performance Center is a nationally recognized shop; best known for high level OEM restorations and custom builds.
