This Ford Model A pickup offers the unique feeling of an old-style hot rod without having to give up modern conveniences. This truck has a mean stance that combines the original hot rod spirit with a bit more modern touches. This fiberglass body truck, which appeals to more of a driving crowd, was worked to near perfection. You can go for a 1930s-style cruise without the apprehension. Specifically, the body certainly has tighter gaps than an original Model A, and any road scuffs don't feel like you've altered nearly 100 years of history. This truck was built with the idea to be as straight, clean, and clutter-free as possible. So upon closer inspection, you'll notice the shaved door handles (access is gained by remote control). The teal paint is a slick as it gets. Simplicity in appearance doesn't mean this truck is missing the little touches. For example, the dual exhaust is integrated into the rear pan, and the turn signals nearly hidden at the bottom of the front fenders are signs of a detailed build. Inside this truck blends old and new worlds almost seamlessly. There is the classic bench seats setup, but it is done in a tasteful two-tone gray leather that's been sectioned for the two occupants. The door panels, carpeting, and headliner all match this color scheme very nicely. The air conditioning, and heat/defrost vents are integrated into the custom dash so well that you'd swear that Model As were supposed to come with ventilation. Just like the outside, the dashboard has been streamlined, which means switches for the power windows and other modern convinces are hidden to avoid clutter. The gauges are in the center just like an original truck, but this one has been upgraded to a full Dolphin package to provide this hot rod's full vital info. The final touch is the Grant sports steering wheel with tilt column. Beneath the skin is where a new build really has its advantages. Upfront is an independent suspension with power disc brakes, and coilover setup in the rear. All of this combined with 15-inch sport tires says that this hot rod was made to eat the streets. The power for this truck is an obvious beast that everyone can see. It is a Chevy 350 cubic inch small block, which is the perfect platform to give great power directly out of the crate, but still easily upgradeable on any lazy Sunday. It's your choice to change the valve covers to chrome, but with the air cleaner, alternator, radiator, and headers already gleaming, the black actually adds distinction. The V8 is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission, and the power is sent to a stout Ford 9-inch rear end that is made even hardier by Mosler axles. It's easy to love a Model A when it is accepted into so many crowds. This is a truck, a hot rod, and a very nicely customized vehicle that can easily make friends wherever it goes. With cars like this 1930 Ford Roadster we imagine it will be a very long time, if ever, that enthusiasts will get bored with the fun factor these little roadsters bring. Traditional good looks and a stout small block stuffed in a small body is what makes these cars so cool. If you're lucky enough to get up close and personal with this car, you'll probably first notice the liquid smooth coat of glossy black paint that adorns the Model A body panels. Those panels fit nicely with even gaps for an overall package that you would be proud to show off. In fact, there has been less than 3K miles put on this roadster since the build was completed, and it definitely shows. Accenting the black paint for a traditional look is a red pinstripe that features a Ford oval on both sides. There are removable hood louvers included so you can opt to show off the Ford small block as it is, or have them installed for a concealed, sleek look. The fenders and running boards give the car a vintage speedster vibe, while that stance sits on staggered 14'' wheels painted in red with faux knock-off white wall tire inserts to accent the nostalgic look. Inside is a two-tone interior wrapped in light grey and dark grey vinyl. There is room for two in the cockpit, but if you want to carry along another passenger or two the rear hatch lifts up to reveal a rumble seat that is covered in the same two-tone vinyl. The custom dash is molded from fiberglass and has been painted dark grey; it houses a complement of gauges that include a speedometer, oil pressure, voltage, water temperature, and fuel level. There is a panel of switches under the dash that also includes the ignition and headlight controls. A Lokar shifter is within easy reach for gear selection, and a 3-spoke Lecarra steering wheel sits on a tilt column. Power for this little roadster comes from a 302 cubic inch Ford V8 built by Terry Walters Precision Engines. That 302 is complemented with a Holley dual feed 600CFM carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake, ceramic coated headers, and an H.E.I. ignition. A C4 automatic transmission handles the power and sends it to a Ford 8'' rear end with 3.35 gears. Fire the small block to life and it exhales through a dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers for a deep and throaty growl. Power brakes handle stopping duties with 215/70/14 front and 235/70/14 rear tires maintaining contact with the road. When it comes to the good times you have in a hot rod like this, you simply can't put a price on the memories. This '30 Ford Roadster has the look, feel, and sound that keep the many hot rod fans coming back for more. Here is a great opportunity to see what the appeal of owning a car like this is all about. Of the dozens of Model A body styles, few are as universally loved as the rumble-seat coupe. Practical yet sporty, it combines the comfort of a closed car with the tidy proportions of a coupe, and throws in a rumble-seat just for good measure. This nicely restored example is ideally set up for tour duty, so isn\'t it time you discovered what a treat these honest little cars really are? The paint is a pretty good interpretation of the original Washington Blue, and when combined with black fenders and straw-colored wheels, it has a very correct look. The restoration is a few years old now, but still looks good enough to generate lots of appreciative looks out on the road. Model As have the ideal combination of old fashioned car looks with just enough style, compliments of Edsel Ford, to make them an enduring favorite among collectors. This one also demonstrates excellent panel fit with a hood that snugs down tightly and brightly painted body moldings that line up properly from front to rear. It\'s unusual to see a single sidemount and a rear-mounted spare, since you usually got one or the other, but there\'s no denying that have two spare tires is useful when you\'re touring. Accessories include headlight visors, a radiator stone guard, an oversized side mirror, and traditional blue dots in the taillight lenses, so it\'s fully dressed for a night out on the town. Part of the coupe\'s appeal is the two-passenger sportiness and a cozy, weather-tight interior. The Model A is appealing in its simplicity and offers quality materials and a feeling that you\'re getting more than you paid for. The seats and door panels are black vinyl that features wide pleats that look period-correct. Red pinstripes outline the dash, which is also the cowl-mounted gas tank, and the chrome instrument panel in the center carries the basics, including speedometer, ammeter, fuel gauge, and ignition switch. A three-speed gearbox requires double-clutching, but its action is light and easy once you get the hang of it, and it really is a talent that every car guy should perfect. In back, flip up the deck lid to find space for two in the matching rumble seat, which can also double as storage for a week of touring. Ford\'s 200 cubic inch inline-four wasn\'t a powerhouse, but its calling card is torque. The little engine makes wonderful noises and pulls smartly from just about any speed and in any gear. It starts easily thanks to an upgraded electrical system that features an alternator in place of the original generator, and it stays reliable with an aftermarket air cleaner on the original Zenith carb and a heat shield for the original distributor, all upgrades that suggest this car was destined for road duty. Four-wheel brakes are mechanical, but don\'t let any tell you that you need to upgrade to hydraulics, because they work just fine in the lightweight A. And the original 19-inch welded wire wheels have been adorned with correctly-sized 4.75-5.00x19 wide whitewalls that add an upscale touch. Model As are wonderful little cars that make for the ideal starter hobby car. But you may find, like many collectors do, that you never quite outgrow the A and you\'ll always have one around. This neat little 1930 Model A Tudor sedan is one of those great old cars that don\'t ask you to make any sacrifices to enjoy them. With lots of smart upgrades aimed at making it a reliable and fun tour car, it retains all the Model A\'s charm and simply upgrades all the areas where the A\'s were a little weak. The first thing most folks notice on this handsome tudor sedan are the colors, which are a fairly correct representation of Chicle and Copra Drab, correct 1930 Ford colors that are seldom seen today. It\'s bright, sophisticated, and with contrasting black fenders, very stylish. The restoration is a few years old and given the extensive modifications under the skin, it\'s safe to say that it\'s been driven and enjoyed, but overall it has a very pleasant, complete look that works quite well. It\'s a Deluxe model, which included cowl lamps and dual taillights, but other welcome additions include the etched wind wings, twin side mirrors, and a spare tire cover that gives it an upscale look. The doors fit well and in the interest of keeping everything safe, there\'s a mesh grille guard up front that\'s functional as well as stylish. The fenders could probably benefit from a buff, but on the other hand this is a car that you can hit the road without worries, so perhaps it might be best to just leave it as-is. Either way, you won\'t be disappointed with how it goes down the road. Inside, the upholstery is pretty correct for 1930, featuring brown mohair on late-model Honda bucket seats that might fool more than a few onlookers. They\'re a lot more supportive than the original chairs, but the classic patterns are a nice disguise. The familiar controls are all there, augmented by things like turn signals, accessory water temperature and oil pressure gauges, and a 12-volt cooling fan, which is handy since Model As don\'t have cowl vents. The back seat is spacious and the woodgrained garnish moldings and dashboard surround give the modest Model A an upscale feel. Experts will note that this car has a late \'31 round speedometer instrument panel, but at this point, it doesn\'t really matter given the car\'s extensive upgrades. There\'s also a nice-fitting long-grain vinyl roof that seals up well and looks great. Mechanically, the 200 cubic inch inline-four that made the Model A famous is still in place, albeit in 1932 Model B form, which added a whopping 25% more horsepower (up to 50 from 40). Of course, the multiple upgrades also help with horsepower, but the primary goal was reliability, and with that in mind the engine was treated to pressurized lubrication, a pressurized cooling system, a Weber downdraft carburetor, and a 6-blade cooling fan. It starts with vigor but still has that classic Model A sound, and thanks to a 4-speed synchromesh transmission and the rear end out of a Ford Ranger pickup, it\'s a capable cruiser at modern highway speeds. The suspension is augmented with juice brakes, a Ford F100 steering box, and modern shocks, with coil-overs out back. 16-inch wheels from a later Ford ride better than the 19-inchers that came on the car and carry bright 6.00-16 Firestone wide whitewall tires. A classic Model A with its soul intact and just a few upgrades to enhance the driving experience. If that\'s your kind of fun, this Model A deserves a closer look. Call now! We\'ve long believed that no old car collection is complete without a Model A Ford, and this 1930 coupe is one of the more desirable body styles on the considerably long list of choices. Coming from long-term ownership and restored to stock specifications with no questionable \"upgrades,\" it\'s the ideal starter hobby car or a great addition to a growing collection in need of one of Henry\'s ladies. The bright green paint is an attractive, if not 100% correct combination for a 1930 Model A, but once you see it in person, you\'ll fall in love. Not flashy, although the straw-colored wheels and pinstripes, it\'s interesting and quite attractive and will definitely stand out from the rows of maroon and blue and black examples. Finish work is decent, and since this car comes out of long-time ownership (since 1959!), rust and wood rot were probably never an issue. Given the massive resources out there for restoring a Model A, it\'s no surprise that this one fits together well with doors that fit snugly, a nicely aligned hood, and perhaps most interestingly, a trunk instead of a rumble seat, making this a true 2-seater. It has not been over-accessorized, either, as many folks believe that simple Model As should remain simple, but it does have a few functional upgrades like the sealed-beam headlight inserts, a radiator guard, and a brand new Ford-logo spare tire cover out back. It\'s also worth noting that the bumpers are brand new and look fantastic. For a Model A, the interior is nicely appointed, with a comfortable bench seat and fully upholstered door panels. The tan fabric looks right for the 1930s and has simple vertical pleats that were standard on all closed models. The dash is the same one all Fords got in 1930, although this appears to be an early 1930 model with the round speedometer and simple, flat-faced gauge panel. All the original hardware and controls are there, including the steering-wheel-mounted headlight controls right under the horn button, throttle and spark levers on the steering column, and fuel shut-off under the dash. With the gas tank right there in the cowl, ventilation comes from a tilt-out windshield, which really makes a nice difference on warm days, making the Model A a nice place to spend an afternoon. That kind of touring is all the more enjoyable with the large trunk in back, which is finished in light-colored carpet to match the interior. All Model As, even the trucks, got the same torquey 200 cubic inch four cylinder engine, with the one in this coupe being a great runner with that traditional Model A sound. All the correct equipment is there, from the flat copper plug leads to the original 6V generator, and the block wears just the right shade of Ford Green. Even the hose clamps are correct. The carburetor is a later aftermarket replacement that\'s a little easier to fine-tune than the original Zenith and there\'s some fresh wiring to upgrade the original cloth stuff. The 3-speed manual transmission is light and easy to master with a quick double-clutch, and the mechanical brakes are surprisingly effective given the A\'s light weight. You\'ll surely find that this coupe keeps up with traffic easily and cruises happily at 45 MPH on the open road thanks to new whitewall tires on the original 19-inch wire wheels. Don\'t miss an opportunity to own a nice-driving A with a lot of history behind it, a car that remains quite A-Ford-able. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. By 1930, Chrysler had already cemented their position as not only a viable marque, but as a corporation that could rival the mighty General Motors. After a disagreement with Billy Durant at GM, Walter P. Chrysler started manufacturing vehicles that bore his own name in 1924. Using state-of-the-art technology like hydraulic brakes and full-pressure engine lubrication, Chryslers quickly gained a reputation for being rugged, reliable machines. In the years that followed, Chrysler added brands like Dodge and Plymouth to their roster, allowing the Chrysler brand to move up market, culminating in the spectacular Imperials of the early 1930s, which were easily a match for the Cadillacs and Packards of the era. This 1930 Chrysler 66 was the entry-level Chrysler, a step above the Plymouth brand and perhaps akin to an Oldsmobile over at the GM stable. Finished in the original shade of Cobalt Blue with black fenders, this might be the nicest Chrysler 66 sedan available anywhere. With a full, frame-off restoration completed in the recent past, the detailing and paintwork are exceptional, and well beyond what was possible in 1930. The doors open and shut precisely, the panels line up extremely well, and with fresh weather stripping, it seals up very well given its age. Crisp break lines between the blue body and black moldings suggest a high degree of professionalism in the work, and the incredibly glossy surface probably required hours and hours of color sanding and buffing to reach this level. All the chrome has been restored, from the clean radiator shell to the stylish bumpers. Interior furnishings were a big deal in 1930, and while it may seem strange to us today, leather was typically reserved for less expensive open cars, while fabrics like the wool used in this Chrysler sedan was considered luxurious and upscale. Faithfully reproducing the original patterns for the seats and door panels, the interior is bright and airy, and maybe just a little bit formal, given this cars upright profile. The dash and door panels are warmed with woodgrain-styled metal inserts, and they have been beautifully refinished. The minimalist dashboard features only basic gauges, but an aftermarket temperature gauge has been added to keep an eye on the cooling system. The big, hard rubber steering wheel makes wheeling the unassisted steering (of course) a breeze, and modern turn signals have been installed for safetys sake. In back, youll probably be stunned by the amount of legroom this sedan offers, and its fun to realize that this is the SMALLEST Chrysler-imagine how spacious the larger Imperial must have been! Other luxurious appointments include the delicate, art-deco handles and cranks on the doors. Chryslers reputation for performance and reliability was earned, not mere marketing hyperbole. The engine that forged that reputation is the inline six-cylinder unit found in this model 66. With a flathead design and displacing 195.6 cubic inches, it made a fairly robust 65 horsepower (for comparisons sake, a 1930 Ford made just 40 horsepower). But the big story in 1930 was torque, and a lot of it at very low speeds. Remember that roads were often crude and unpaved, and low-speed smoothness was treasured above high-speed performance. This car will happily slog around in top gear at 10 MPH, and smoothly pulls to its top speed of about 70 MPH without hiccups. In reality, this sedan is probably happiest cruising at about 45 or 50 MPH, thanks to the tall tires and relatively steep rear end ratio. The 3-speed transmission is not synchronized, so youll need to practice your double-clutching, but clutch effort is light and youll find that shifting quickly works best. Brakes are 4-wheel hydraulic, which gives you better braking in this Chrysler than just about any other vehicle of the era, and they feel firm and confidence-inspiring, especially when compared to the often spooky mechanical brakes of its peers. This one also includes a thick pile of restoration photos, receipts, and a ton of period Chrysler literature that gives you a lot of background on what life was like in 1930. If youre a Chrysler fan, this is one of their most successful early models, beautifully restored to original condition. Theres a feeling when driving these older cars that you just cant duplicate by stuffing a small block Chevy under the hood and a Nova front clip on the frame. Feeling the machinery going about its business the way it did 80 years ago is a rare treat, and too many hobbyists overlook that simple pleasure. These cars were reliable daily drivers when they were new, and theres no reason they cant function reliably today with just a modicum of maintenance. This one is simple, rugged, and well-engineered, and its just a pleasure to drive. If you find yourself bored with all the hype over hot rods, why not pick up something a little more authentic and see what life felt like when your grandfather was a boy? The hot rod culture is still alive and well! With cars like this 1930 Ford Roadster we imagine it will be a very long time, if ever, that enthusiasts will get bored with the fun factor these little roadsters bring. Traditional good looks and a stout small block stuffed in a small body is what makes these cars so cool. If you\'re lucky enough to get up close and personal with this car, you\'ll probably first notice the liquid smooth coat of glossy black paint that adorns the Model A body panels. The fenders and running boards give the car a vintage speedster vibe, while that stance sits on staggered 14\'\' wheels painted in red with faux knock-off white wall tire inserts to accent the nostalgic look. That 302 is complemented with a Holley dual feed 600CFM carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake, ceramic coated headers, and an H.E.I. ignition. A C4 automatic transmission handles the power and sends it to a Ford 8\'\' rear end with 3.35 gears. Fire the small block to life and it exhales through a dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers for a deep and throaty growl. Power brakes handle stopping duties with 215/70/14 front and 235/70/14 rear tires maintaining contact with the road. When it comes to the good times you have in a hot rod like this, you simply can\'t put a price on the memories. This \'30 Ford Roadster has the look, feel, and sound that keep the many hot rod fans coming back for more. Here is a great opportunity to see what the appeal of owning a car like this is all about. How cool would it have been to see this 1931 Ford Model AA mail truck trundling down your street, hauling packages, and delivering mail? As big as a barn, this Model A has a fantastic, purposeful look and someone gave it a high-quality restoration that makes it one of history\'s more iconic heavy haulers. In the 1930s and \'40s, if you received mail, a truck like this probably handled it somewhere along the way. The robust little Model AA makes for a rather attractive truck, and the massive wood bodywork was created by several manufacturers to Ford\'s specifications, giving them a uniform look that was, well, like a uniform. From the olive paint to the sliding doors to the train-car-like roofline, these trucks were distinctive as well as durable. Following a comprehensive restoration several years ago, this one still looks great and will surely be the star of any show it attends. The black front end was typical Ford commercial-grade, blending into the usual cowl section that houses the gas tank. The wood body is mostly original, albeit repainted and with replacement pieces as needed, and with period WWII posters on its flanks, recalls an era when life was a little slower, a little simpler. It\'s probably nicer than it ever was when it was in service and offers many unique details that make it a fascinating piece of history. For safety, dual taillights have been added, as well as a painted front bumper, but otherwise it\'s just as Ford intended back in 1931. The interior is bone simple, a utilitarian design specifically created for practical purposes only during the harsh economic climate of the early 30\'s. The bench seat with its bolt-upright seat back is wide enough for one and a half people, so I\'m not sure what the USPS was thinking when they spec\'d it that way. The familiar Ford instrument panel is stashed under the heavy body\'s wood windshield frame and cowl, and the wooden floor was painted the same olive green as, well, just about everything else. Twin sliding doors make it easy to deliver from either side and despite the sever conditions in which this truck surely worked, someone took the time to make it attractive, too, with pleasant angles and neat details. In back, the cargo bay is truly massive, so if you\'ve got the time, it\'ll still move just about anything you own (or maybe even everything). It also includes a pair of vintage mail bags that are a neat accessory. Ford\'s familiar 200 cubic inch four-cylinder engine powered everything from the lightest roadsters to this big truck, but thanks to clever gearing and a 4-speed transmission, it doesn\'t seem to struggle at all. It\'s slow, but it goes about its job with that happy Model A soundtrack and bulletproof reliability, which is surely why the Ford was chosen for postal delivery duties in the first place. The engine bay is quite authentic, from the flat copper spark plug leads to the Ford green paint on the block, and everything appears to be in order (there\'s really not much that can go wrong here). The chassis looks like it might have been freshened at some point and remains in good order, complete with a correct Model AA exhaust system that delivers the perfect sound. Heavy-duty steel wheels with 6.50-20 truck tires give it a sturdy look. There are only a handful of these left and they represent an important part of our motoring heritage. It\'s also just plain fun to show up in a giant old truck that is so instantly recognizable. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. Everybody loves the Ford Model A. Rugged, dependable, and fun to drive, cars like this 1931 tudor sedan are affordable entries into the hobby that teach you everything you need to know about the care of an old car. With stable values and excellent parts support, they\'re the ideal starter collectable. The bright Kelly green paint job gives this tudor sedan an upbeat demeanor that\'s perfect for the Model A. It\'s an older restoration that wasn\'t intended to collect trophies but rather be a pleasant car to drive and look good doing it. In that regard, it succeeds quite well, with classic good looks and details that make 1930s cars so charming. The finish remains in very good condition with an appropriate shine, and the contrast with the correct black fenders (that\'s the only way Model As came) looks period perfect. The doors fit well and the hood lines up nicely enough, and there\'s no evidence that this was ever anything but a nice, complete car. Ford pioneered the use of stainless steel in 1930 (he called it \"rustless steel\"), so the radiator shell and other bright pieces look great and will continue to do so for years to come. The fabric top insert is part of the deal with early 1930s cars, and while it isn\'t totally correct and shows some wear, it\'s still doing its job of keeping the rain out. The interior is far more luxurious and comfortable than you\'d expect in an affordable Ford like this, with comfortable tweed cloth upholstery front and rear. The upholstery is in very good condition with minimal wear, the door panels include gathered map pockets and shiny hardware, and the simple instrument panel is joined by accessory temperature and oil pressure gauges underneath. A rubber floor mat was standard equipment for front seat passengers, but there are carpets in place today to help control noise and heat. You\'ll find that it\'s easy to master the 3-speed manual transmission, which needs a quick double-clutch between gears, and the big hard rubber steering wheel makes the unassisted (obviously) steering feel nimble. Controls are simple, with the headlight lever in the center of the wheel, spark advance on the left of the steering column and a hand throttle on the right, and that knob ahead of the passenger is the choke and fuel mixture control. And that\'s it! The engine is the same 200 cubic inch inline-four that powered all Fords from 1928 to 1931 (and beyond). With a long stroke, it makes impressive torque that gives the little Ford zippy performance around town and it\'s happy to cruise at 45 MPH without complaint. The engine bay is very well detailed with fresh green paint on the block, a proper Zenith carburetor, and even the original distributor with flat copper leads lights the spark. It\'s all quite rugged and simple enough to be serviced almost anywhere, and as I mentioned, parts are extremely easy to find. The suspension is buggy springs and live axles, but nobody can argue with the toughness of the Model A, and you\'ll find that this one will serve you well with only routine maintenance. Recent 19-inch blackwalls look right on the cheerful Tacoma Cream wire wheels. No collector should be without a Model A somewhere, and this is an affordable way to get started in the world\'s greatest hobby. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom. The styling combines the traditional upright grille with a streamlined body, to create one of the best-looking cars of the period, no matter the manufacturer. This unusual two-door sedan with its integrated trunk is a neat look that remains faithfully original today. Many of these tudor sedans have been turned into hot rod over the years, but this one is more about an honest 1930s experience. The gently rounded fenders with their peaked crease through the middle, the highly detailed hood vents, and practical yet stylish trunk with integrated rear-mount spare tire, it has all been transported intact from 1936. Finished in Henry Ford's favorite color, high-gloss black, it looks sensible, and nicely finished, with a nice red pinstripe to give it a high-class attitude. It kinda looks like a tuxedo, especially with the whitewall tires. All the original brightwork is intact - from the neatly dipped bumpers, to the original door handles, to the blue-dot lens taillights. It even still has the big, bold, V8 logo on top of the grille. The interior looks thoroughly original right down to the gray mohair fabric on the buckets seats and doors. Ford's advertisements in 1936 praised the "Center-Poised" seat position, for the easy riding comfort, and today we'd just call it nicely plush. Even for its age, this car is a great cruiser. The steering wheel is well-worn from nearly 80 years on the road, and so your hands fit nicely into grooves that were created over generations of drivers. Every button, dial, and knob is period-correct, to make this Ford feel like a time machine. There are even plenty of spare components that come with this car to keep it feeling like it's frozen in time. Open the hood, and the honest feeling continues. The 221 cubic-inch flathead motor is the ionic V8 that earned Ford its powerful reputation. This one has been dressed up with a few chrome accessories, such as the head bolts, air cleaner, and radiator piping, to attract the car show crowd, but you can still tell this motor is more about being a '30s machine than a hot rod. There's a similar situation with the new dual exhaust that still makes that unmistakable flathead sound. Most people would think twice about a journey in a car from 1936, but this one has been restored and maintained to be quite practical. The motor was rebuilt 2,000 miles ago, and it runs good on regular fuel. The three-speed manual transmission, combined with a new 3.55 rear end ratio makes this tudor versatile on the highway. Its time to get your hands on an exceptionally well-preserved '30s Ford (it even comes with the original owner's manual). This one is shiny enough to attract everyone at the car show and original enough to earn their respect. You'll find that it's easy to master the 3-speed manual transmission, which needs a quick double-clutch between gears, and the big hard rubber steering wheel makes the unassisted (obviously) steering feel nimble. Controls are simple, with the headlight lever in the center of the wheel, spark advance on the left of the steering column and a hand throttle on the right, and that knob ahead of the passenger is the choke and fuel mixture control. And that's it! The engine is the same 200 cubic inch inline-four that powered all Fords from 1928 to 1931 (and beyond). With a long stroke, it makes impressive torque that gives the little Ford zippy performance around town and it's happy to cruise at 45 MPH without complaint. The engine bay is very well detailed with fresh green paint on the block, a proper Zenith carburetor, and even the original distributor with flat copper leads lights the spark. It's all quite rugged and simple enough to be serviced almost anywhere, and as I mentioned, parts are extremely easy to find. The suspension is buggy springs and live axles, but nobody can argue with the toughness of the Model A, and you'll find that this one will serve you well with only routine maintenance. Recent 19-inch blackwalls look right on the cheerful Tacoma Cream wire wheels. No collector should be without a Model A somewhere, and this is an affordable way to get started in the world's greatest hobby. And, if you talk to Lincoln historians, the 1933 Lincoln KB IS the best Lincoln ever produced. With the introduction of Cadillac's 1930 V16, and 1931 V12, it had become apparent that the multi-cylinder race to woo America's most prosperous buyers had hit the ground running. That meant any company wishing to compete at the very top of the new car market would need to adopt the 'bigger is better' mindset. And when Henry Leland founded Lincoln, he constructed the brand on the premise of cars without compromise. True to that philosophy, Lincolns had always been well built cars. And this incredible classic, 1 of only 533 1933 KBs assembled and 1 of only 3 Victorias believed to still exist, is the epitome of what was, and should still be, great about the Lincoln Motor Company. If you're looking for a legendary American automobile that's primed for a museum, its time to make an "Unquestionably sound investment"! HISTORY KB 2532 received its first professional restoration before an acquisition by noted Lincoln collector Roy Warshawsky of J.C. Whitney fame. According to close friends, the big Victoria was one of his all-time favorite pieces, remaining in his personal collection until his death. On point cosmetically, but mechanically fragile due to years of display, the car was then acquired by Ohio collector Richard Scott. Scott intended to drive the classic as it was meant to be enjoyed, so he returned the car to running condition and ultimately completed a 1,000-mile CCCA CARavan that snaked through the Pacific Northwest. When Scott sold KB 2532, it followed a stint in one of America's preeminent car collections with a 6-year stay in a Midwest automotive museum. And today, RK Motors Charlotte proudly showcases the car as some of the finest pre-war luxury we've ever offered! COACHWORK/TRIM Although Lincoln did offer custom-built cars the company also placed stock orders, sometimes 50 at a time, to a multitude of coachbuilders. Known as the catalog custom system, this accomplished three things: 1) a shorter delivery time 2) allowed customers to still enjoy the quality and exclusivity of a coachbuilt automobile and 3) allowed customers to easily customize certain aspects of their cars in a variety of ways. Not surprisingly, catalog bodies were sourced from the leading coachbuilders of the day, including Judkins, Waterhouse, Murphy, Brunn, Dietrich, Willoughby and LeBaron. In addition to being the finest vintage of Lincoln ever produced, KB 2532 features what many consider the most attractive of those coachbuilt bodies: Brunn's striking Convertible Victoria. With its low windshield, clean top lines and sweeping fender lines, the car is a masterpiece of classic era design. Naturally, that body's paint is Wall Street swank, alternating between subdued burgundy and tame tan 2-stage. And that expertly applied pigment has been buffed to the kind of liquid-smooth shine that'll be right at home sitting on the show field. ENGINE It's no surprise that one of the finest Lincolns ever built is powered by one of the finest engines ever built. With seven main bearings, fork and blade connecting rods and separate cylinder blocks, this Victoria's 448 cubic inch V12 is an engineering masterpiece. That said; there was one problem. The 150 horsepower mill was so expensive to manufacture that it would be promptly replaced by a more conventional design, making 1933 the last year for the ultimate Lincoln. The result is, among today's premium car collectors, 1932 and 1933 L-head KBs have achieved legendary status. DRIVETRAIN Driven by Edsel Ford, Lincoln was unwavering in its commitment to the coachbuilt car. Although a baseline of factory standard sedans was offered, each year new designs were solicited from customhouses for the top-of-the-line KB, and those renderings were used to produce sales catalogs for Lincoln dealers. The brand's chassis, specifically designed to receive bespoke coachwork, featured unparalleled quality. The foundation for that quality was solid front and live rear axles, longitudinal leaf springs and 4-wheel vacuum servo assisted drum brakes. With those bits in mind, the 1933 model did receive a few updates in the form of better frame reinforcement, an adjustable vacuum booster, thermostatic shock absorbers and a new 3-speed transmission. INTERIOR The interior of this antique cruiser is not as sparse as one might think. Wood-topped door panels join smooth carpet, and pleated and stainless-trimmed seats to serve as all of the car's soft points. The dash and steering wheel are restored pieces that feature an assortment of period correct knobs, gauges and controls. There's a small mirror and dual windshield wipers, which add a bit of livability. And overall, this Lincoln emphasizes the kind of secure, luxurious coddling that most showroom-fresh metal lost a long time ago. 1932 and '33 Lincolns are regarded as some of the finest and most undervalued cars of their era. This Victoria is an elegant, luxurious and exceptionally stylish reminder of the incredible engineering prowess of one of the world's most storied automotive franchises. And today, the car remains in excellent overall condition, prepared to show and cruise while accumulating value and prestige. About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final.
